Talk to Me (2022)
I can't believe it
My gawd where do I start I wanted to get out of the movie theater by the middle of the film, this Mia girl she is just so so so dumb it's unbelievable all the things that happen on this film are just so dumb, you may think is a movie that will scare you or at least make you feel uncomfortable or something, but is just this girl Mia having her mommy issues all throughout the film, if you are into hardcore horror films you should skip this one. Is just plain boring and the premise is stupid. At the end everyone was so dumb I could care less how it would end and the ending is just so predictable, if you think you are going to see gruesome murders or scary stuff trust me this film ain't any of that.
What a waste of potential.
Smile (2022)
I was loving every part of it but...
I would like to start by saying this movie is great but the ending is just bad, one this girl commits suicide in front of her therapist, the therapist is now cursed with this image of this person just smiling and hunting her all the way, through the film she encounters her sister and his dumb fiancé who none of them support her. So all the film is great because the jump scares are not cheap and the film works great it actually set up an ambiance which made me feel nervous at some point. But at the end the monster I mean is pretty lame and ridiculous, it didn't frighten me at all as I thought it would. And at the end I mean you just don't end up scared at the end. Is a good movie, if you are looking for a fright night with your friends or partner is alright but it would have been better if a better monster and ending was provided.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
Did we actually watch the same movie?
I've been playing Mario games since I was a little boy and I have to admit that when I saw this film coming out I had really high hopes for it. But to be honest I felt it was pretty mediocre and the story doesn't feel right... they had a lot of potential to make it work. But I don't know I felt the story was just ok not even average, just ok. I felt it was a watch one time movie. I mean it is entertaining and has its fun moments but I wouldn't watch it again if being honest. If a sequel comes out I hope they explore more the worlds and so on. Cause it had a lot of potential but I'm not sure I felt they could've done more about it.
The Old Man: VII (2022)
Boring and dull
The series started great and for a moment I thought it was going to be an action packed series that is rare to have one of those these days. But it started to become way to boring with flashbacks and dialogue that led to the same thing and at this point I couldn't give two s**Ts about it. But I thought this being the last episode was going to be thrilled and exciting. But guess what instead we have a 53 min episode with two old dudes talking garbo and leading nowhere. It became at some point tedious and suddenly it just ended. I couldn't care less at this point it had so much promise and it just became a boring series in which I got no interest in seeing the second season at all.
White Noise (2022)
This was one of the most boring films I've ever seen
So, when I saw Netflix announce this film I thought it looked alright that I would get what they sold me. That was a kind of disaster film and I mean Adam Driver is a very nice actor. And yeh I was kind of excited to watch this. And well is just a boring slow paced film that gets into very philosophical stuff trying to implement a clever plot but the only thing you get is 2hrs and 30min of nonsensical garbage and a script really bad made. I understand the relation with all the Nazi, Elvis and wrecking during the film. But how they sold it is not how it is the final product they deliver I mean if you want to feel like watching something out of the ordinary you should go for it but if not.
LOOK FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
Bardo, falsa crónica de unas cuantas verdades (2022)
This movie is great! For when you have insomnia
This movie is just painfully long and dull whenever you think is about to end the director finds another stupid thing to talk about. This is a movie that is based on the directors personality, dreams and issues. Well I think he should've reserved those thought to his personal diary instead of portraying them in an almost 3hr movie. I don't have issues with 3hr movie I love long movies but as long as they are interesting or have a logical premise or somewhat interesting. But no... this movie is just boring and it goes on and goes on until eternity. I mean you can fall asleep and trust me if you wake up the movie will be in the same stuff you left it whenever you fell sleep.
Avoid.
Halloween Ends (2022)
I felt I was watching two different films at the same time
So the film starts in the year 2019 where our boy Cory is babysitting this dickwad kid who locks him in the attic of his house and then Cory pushes the door to scape and the kid falls to his doom and dies. So... that start was unexpected but I liked "The Thing" reference. Then we have the classic Halloween intro as before and Laurie Storde starts explaining that "The Shape" has disappeared and no one knows where he is but she now lives with her granddaughter Allyson. And everyone in the town is somewhat happy again... but many of the people in town hate Laurie so no one likes her. Allyson works as a nurse in a wired Hospital where the doctor and nurses are a bunch of hideous people. But there she is and she hates her life because she has lost everything. And later we realize that Cory who accidentally killed this kid is free roaming in town because the judge forgave him. But he is a loser as well. 30min into the movie and we haven't even seen Michael Mayers or something. But what we see is that Cory is a loser and everyone bullies him even his mom. So if you have any intelligence you can realize where the film is heading that this Cory dude is becoming the new Michael Mayers. This random kids hurt Cory and Laurie rescues him to take him where her granddaughter works and this is where the wired stuff begins to happen cause Allyson falls immediately in love with Cory and starts being... wired... saying cringey lines and lines no one would ever say these days.
This film was weird because Allyson and Cory fall in love... the two weirdos in town I guess... and we see Michael Mayers until 45min into the movie where Cory meets him and they become "friends"... so Cory starts now doing the killing and stuff and you may think okay I guess the Michael Mayers/Laurie arc is over.
Cory and Allyson will become the new characters... but no... the director is a total dumba** and ruins what could become a new start for the franchise by making it slow pacing and just dumb... I give it a six because I had fun watching it instead of being frightened or whatever. The premise is so so so dumb and bad executed that is a fun movie to watch... so I mean I you don't have anything else better to see or to do. Sure go watch it.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
In order to enjoy this film you only require 2 functional neurons
I've heard a lot of good things about this film and awesome reviews etc. So I was excited to watch this one. And boy this film is bad, the jokes are bad and the pace is awful, I just can't understand why people is saying is good and deep when the jokes are at some point even annoying, the husband with his squeaky voice is terrible. And everything everywhere all in this film sucks a part of me wanted to leave the move theater or die when I already felt that 3 hours had passed and I had just watch dumb stuff happen and it appears "Part 2" I was like no way man I just want this to end. I really don't understand what is wrong with the people praising this film does this people have brain damage or something? Because believe me this film is way to long for what it is, it's just beyond dumb this film. If you have any respect or you feel you are at least a little smart and have some self respect. Don't watch this.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
MARVEL this must end
So... sure all the infinity saga was awesome... mostly and we were all excited for what was to come. But come on! This saga should've ended on endgame. You are just trying to make more money without any more hard work, this film made no sense as Spider-Man NWH did, as Eternals did, as BW did and as DS and all the series that are just annoying I mean you spend 2 -3 hours tops watching one of these movies... but a series? Really? These stories are just empty and dumb at some point. If Thor was able to just transmit his powers to anyone... why didn't we ever see this? Why he didn't do that during the last stand with Thanos so all the Avengers were OP? Now Infinity what the hell... I mean if this thing existed why never mentioned it? Why when he got his new hammer on IW instead of going to Wakanda to do nothing or at least help Tony... why didn't he go to infinity and asked for Thanos to forget about the stones. Why does Greg or Gorr or whatever his name is wished for her daughter to live if he knew how crappy was everything and either way he was going to die he wouldn't be able to be with his daughter cause now she's alive and he dead. You dumb Greg, I mean why bring his daughter back to life? Why he didn't say that Jane's cancer get deleted so she could be with Thor why would Thor care about that kid whom by the way is a terrible actress her dad dies and she couldn't care less. And finally Jane Foster or whatever what the hell this story felt really forced in order to introduce again Jane Foster just for her to die. I mean... why?
The story is just dumb and empty just like all these Fase 4 movies.
The Black Phone (2021)
Overrated
So... this is a film that the marketing department did an amazing job saying that was one of the scariest films of the last years. I loved sinister and I am a huge hardcore horror movies lover. When I saw the poster with Ethan Hawk and his mask I thought he looked amazing. So I was eager to go watch this film to the movie theater. And this movie is a lot of things, it's good and the kids who act are amazing (Amazing job btw to the directing department) but a horror film is not. I mean it has some tense scenes but it's not scary is more a thriller and there are parts which are pretty predictable or that could've been avoided. I don't know... people says it's great horror film but it's average in that case. I give it an 8 because it has a good premise and excellent talents but the story is kind of dull at some point. But I mean sure it's worth it.
Breaking Bad: Buyout (2012)
My god this episode made me want to kill my self or smash my face into the tv
Tension is rising around everyone in this series, Mike and Pinkman want out while Mr. White won't budge. He still wants to be part of the Empire he has built. But Mike wants out because the DEA is following him everywhere and Pinkman is just done because of all the violence surrounding this business. Everything cool here. The thing is that since the season started Walter's relationship with Skyler makes me uncomfortable like you can't imagine. I understand Skyler but I mean she wanted to get involved Right? But now she acts like a victim... MY GOD... but the part where they are dinning with Jesse at Walter's place... that scene... man that scene... I wanted it so bad to finish.
But great episode.
Ambulance (2022)
Ver very VERY fun and entertaining
I went to the movie theater one Sunday and that same day chose a film to watch. I was with my dad and when I was young he used to take me watch the Transformers films and I saw this was a Michael film and told him that we should give a try. I have to admit that I really didn't know what to expect at first from this film. It just started and from the beginning to the end It was just non-stop action and I had a really good time with this flick. I mean the story is ok, the cast I felt it had a lot of chemistry. And it is very entertaining film. If you have an afternoon to spare you should definitely try this one.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
The funny parts appear in the trailer
So when I saw in the movie theater the preview I thought it was pretty funny. So I bought two tickets for me and my girlfriend. And it was shame because it had potential but they blew it. The pace is slow and what happens isn't funny at all. All the funny scenes appeared in the trailer so maybe you should try something else in the movies. 3 out of 10 just because Pedro Pascal is fun.
Encanto (2021)
No way this thing won an Oscar
So again a generic Disney movie wins the Oscars. When I saw this I thought okay maybe is a good film. But man this movie is not good. There was a point in which I didn't care anymore what would happen. The thing they singed about everything was exhausting. And I got lost in the story because of this.
I didn't like it but I'll give it some points because a song I liked. I don't understand the hype about "We don't talk about Bruno" that song was just ok. And also the animation was good but the story and everything else not Oscar worthy.
The Northman (2022)
I wanted to like it but...
When I saw the trailer I felt It was kind of forgettable, but still... I liked The lighthouse and the witch. So I decided to give this movie a chance and man it was disappointing. They try to sell it as a violent non-stop action in which this guy obliterates everyone in his path but is not the case. Is a story of a guy that his father gets killed by his uncle. So he swears vengeance against his uncle and rescue his mom. Years pass and he is all jacked and ready to kill full of anger. So he acts like an slave so he can work in his uncles "village" and get his revenge... but guess what... this doesn't happen like ever. All the movie this dude has the chance to get his revenge but he doesn't he just does dumb stuff. So at the end we learned that his mother is the criminal mastermind so he gets his a** beat because he is a north dude that loves and finding the truth breaks his heart and then he kills everyone in like 5 min of a more than 120min film and then... he gets naked and we get a final scene with 2 nude dudes fighting with swords in lava. Just like Star Wars III but with nudity I guess. So this scene is cringe and Nicole Kidman sucks as an actress... she is cringe too. But well I mean if you are not expecting to see violence and a more structured film then watch it but if more than 120min is too much just stick with "The Lion King" or something else.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
If you disliked the 1998 version but you liked this one... you got issues
Many people hated the 1998 because it was flawed and dumb. But this movie is just plain boring and dumb to the core. You get to see Godzilla like 10 min out of 2 hours. With a cast that the only thing worth it is Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga. Tho the premise is just stupid.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Amazing
I would've given it a 10 because it was great. But the ending was terrible. I believe the writers had not a solid idea of how to end it. Or maybe because they want to do a second season they did that nonsense, mediocre end. The rest is great I was all the time excited of what was going to happen next but I think they should've left it at one season. Not try to milk it.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
I mean...
You could've name it differently I mean yes... is a movie about a dude that kills some other young people. But it has nothing to do with TCM. But I mean sure if you want to watch some nonsense violence it is entertaining for a while just... don't expect anything else.
Death on the Nile (2022)
"13 dudes that can't act" in the Nile
Alright so... I watched in 2017 "Murder on the Orient Express" and I fell sleep after 20 min had passed. When I saw this one announced I said "sure why not..." this one is way better than the first one but still misses many points. If you are paying attention and analyze a little bit you will solve everything in 30min. The acting I believe is really forced and fake in some actors that as I said you can easily guess who is the murder. I mean is a good flick to pass the time and maybe have a conversation later with whoever you go see it but I guess that's it. Kenneth Branagh in my opinion can't act... he is a great director. Belfast was amazing I hope it wins... but he isn't a very good actor in my opinion at least on this role, I just don't buy it.
Is better than the first one? Yes it is
Is it memorable? Not really
Would I rewatch it? Maybe in some years when I see it on an streaming platform.
Rang song (2021)
Awesome but let me explain why you might not like it
So the medium is a Thai-Korean flick in a format as a documentary. About this woman Nim who is a shaman and she claims the goddess Bayan is inside her and her family has been the host of Bayan for a few generations. So her sister Noi has a daughter Mink and Noi doesn't want anything to do with all this shamanism stuff as well as mink. But suddenly Mink starts changing and at first Nim says is because of Mink's deceased brother spirit. But then they will all realize it's way much worse than that. And things get out of hand.
Now I really enjoyed the narrative of the movie and I believe that how things happen is pretty good. In a meaning that it's a movie where you have to read a lot of what they are saying so you understand better the situation. I believe many people might find this tedious because the first part of the film is a lot of talking.
I think the marketing department of this movie made a mistake cause they sold it as if it was the scariest experience people would encounter it a movie theater. And I mean the suspense is good as well as the ambience and acting but is not the scariest film there is... maybe the scariest for those who are not into horror movies. And many people I think went to the movie theater with the idea of being scared because the director is the one that directed "Shutter" that is a really good and scary film.
But people encounter a movie in which the first 25 min is just about this woman Nim and her shamanism stuff. I didn't disliked it but I believe many people will find it tedious and boring at some point. Because they want cheap scares and demons appearing every five min or something.
Its a 9 for me I really enjoyed it and I believe that if you as a viewer are into experiencing a different gender of suspense-horror you should give it a chance. Just have all these in mind is not a commercial horror movie. Is something else, something better I would even say.
I'll give it a 9 cause I think the dog scene was unnecessary. But everything else is good.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Fan service and that's kind of it
So... have you ever watched Phineas and Ferb the movie: Across the 2nd Dimension? It's the same premise and story just 1h 30min longer and with fan service... I don't get the hype.
