Game of Thrones: A Golden Crown (2011)
A Golden Crown
Viserys's death is in my opinion the first true "game of thrones moment" the shows defies expectations here and sets a new standard for fantasy fiction, but it's only just the beginning. Great episode!

Jesus, this is a very action packed episode! This episode is consistently good as all the others there isn't really much to say. That said, the conversation between Cersei and Robert is one of my favourite scenes in the whole show! So well written and tragic in the iconic game of thrones way, Robert confessing his love to Cersei about Lyanna... for someone who never really loved him back is so sad. It's so good and that's all I can say. Good episode!
Game of Thrones: Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things (2011)

I'd say this is the weakest episode so far next to the pilot but it's in no way bad! Still has some excellent scenes. Ned is starting to get into detective mode now haha! My favourite scene is probably the duel between Ser Hugh and The Mountain which ends in Ser Hugh's death. Also LittleFinger telling Ned not to trust him was a good scene.
Game of Thrones: Lord Snow (2011)

Robert and Ser Barristan then eventually Jaime exchanging war stories is masterfully done... jaime's mic drop at the end "he said the same thing he'd been saying for hours... kill them all." So so good! Ned and Jaime's interaction at the beginning of the episode is also very good. The first episode we see Renly, Varys, Maester Pycelle and Littlefinger and they're all introduced well, it's great to see Littlefinger playing the game as always. Probably the best episode of the season so far!

In my opinion, episode 2 is even better than the pilot (especially on a rewatch) I love Maester Luwin's words "Too easily words of war become acts of war" and even though it doesn't last long I love Jon and Tyrion together. My favourite part of the episode is probably the last scene, Cersei talking in Robert's ear and Ned giving Lady an honourable death.

Winter Is Coming
(A rewatch in preparation for House Of The Dragon) A great start to my favourite show of all time. They introduce many characters flawlessly and on a rewatch it's even better!
