Wyjscie awaryjne (1982)
one of the best movies of that time
this movie is one of the funniest movies ever made in the polish cinema. even if you don't speak Polish you should get this movie and watch it in subtitle. this an hour and a half that you will not regret. the combination of physical comedy and a laugh at the average "POLAK" makes this movie watchable for any kind of audience. the story begins with a middle aged woman who is the mayor of a tinny little town in Poland -actually the filming place is about 2 miles away from where i lived- she finds out a 'director' is planning to visit the little town to inspect the place. at the same time she finds out her 18 year old daughter is pregnant. she tells her husband to buy her daughter a husband in the city - Wroclaw. he finds her an ex convict who is willing to marry her and than divorce. as the relationship between goes from utter hate to love. they decide to call off the divorce.
Komedia malzenska (1994)
I know it sounds like a drama but it is one of the best comedies from the 90's
another great movie from the great director Roman Zaluski, about a woman who feels neglected and used by her three children and her husband. this is a day in the life of an apartment owning family in the city and the problems that sends the main character Maria Kozlowska out of her house after finding out her husband had an affair are very clear she hates her husband and needs a vacation. she leaves him with out a word and ends up at an agency where she translates from Italian to Polish. her husband begins to go mad because of all the children's bickering arguments and sicknesses. although this seems to sound like a drama it is actually a great comedy. this film is very similar to the rest of Zaluski's films the most closely compared is kogel mogel. another great film from the best Polish director.
