Two and a Half Men: That Old Hose Bag Is My Mother (2005)
Sid and Nancy (Nancy) is back!
This episode is screaming' funny from beginning to end!
From everyone dogging Alan's new car as a gay/chick car to Chloe Webb channeling her Nancy (but in a good way) from Sid and Nancy, this episode delivers. Even Jake has a couple of great bits.
This episode had to be fun for the entire cast.
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Glossy, Funny and Too Much Fam Damily
Commoner Chinese-American girl goes to meet secretly wealthy boyfriend's Asian family at their likewise wealthy, snob and non-snob environs.
All the typical family issues arise, but in multiples and on a grand scale. Pretension, old family issues and friendships are all in this movie with Awkwafina, great, as her best college friend from the States to help her navigate the ways of the "old country".
This movie was great fun to watch, but then I like things BIG and GAUDY with heart.
Two and a Half Men: Yay, No Polyps (2010)
Hysterically Politically Incorrect!!
In full disclosure, I'm a big fan of Meaghan Fay since her appearances on Roseanne.
The main story is about poor Charlie's colonoscopy, but the surprises and laughs all belong to Meaghan Fay and Stacy Keach as Charlie's future in-laws from the Midwest. There's enough nonsense stereotyping for all in this episode!
Everybody Loves Raymond: Bad Moon Rising (2000)
Classic PMS Episode
There are so many funny moments in this episode about Ray trying to be a resourceful and understanding husband during Debra's "ladies day". For me, Frank's advice to son Ray about the future PMS eventualities never fails to amaze me with Peter Boyle's comic delivery. Ray's line about "monkey on a cupcake" in desperation also gets me rolling. There's a lot more. Just have to watch it:)
Mom: Jell-O Shots and the Truth About Santa (2018)
A Harsh Truth Story Told Well
Throughout the run of the series, Sadie Calvano has been nearly almost too brilliant an actress as the unsympathetic and mostly unlikeable Violet. This episode seems to put a possible period in her run as Violet.
The thrust of this episode is Christie once again attempting good relations with her bitter daughter Violet. Additionally, Bonnie is the good cop while Christie is the bad cop. It's an excellent episode about many alcoholics' truths (I am one) that's iincredibly well written and performed.
Mom: Triple Dip and an Overhand Grip (2019)
A Reality Check for Bonnie
This episode is well-written, as most of MOM's episodes are, but this particular episode has a fairly shocking revelation near the end.
The main premise with Bonnie and Tammy re-visiting one of their former foster homes is funny with Bonnie being served some humble pie from a still very wise and generous former foster mom to them both.
The sub-premise with Jill and Christie has a likewise pretty funny coincidental surprise nearer to the end of the episode.
Perhaps the best episode of the entire series, but you need to watch until the end!
