Bugbo (2022– )

Bugbo Bugbo, Where art thou?

Sometimes in life, you'll find such wondrous, hidden little gems.

This my friends, is one of those diamonds in the rough.

Bugbo, a charming "web-series", resembling flash games my children used to spend all day and night playing, has pulled my heartstrings in a way no other flash-esque motion picture could. Though only two episodes in, the series manages to sell its characters really well, and with such limited running time. Gerbo, a sweet little angel, easily stole my children's hearts. I cant say the show would be the same without him! You could say "Gradient-Joe" had a similar effect on my own heart, Silent, but deadly... deadly gorgeous! XD Even the Weeping clown seemed to be a favourite among us!

It is seriously perfection! Well... Almost?

As a strong devotee to my religion, I cannot help but notice the... how should I say it?

There are these slight... "cultish" hidden messages, and as a kid show, i cant say i'm thoroughly impressed. They could be easily ignored as a kid, but hey now, i guess my children are growing up so fast, they were able to spot these too, heh. This brings me onto Bugbo, the protagonist... or perhaps antagonist of the story. My children immediately noticed something in Episode 2, "Under the Apple tree" "Mummie, I suppose the bug killed the mayor" And would you believe it? They were right. It is easily missable, but that doesn't mean it can't be seen. I can only hope the team doesn't encourage these sorts of messages in further episodes... Otherwise, it is nothing short of brilliance!

As a side note, and I know I shouldn't say this, he is a bug, and some sort of devil worshipper at that, but he does have his fair share of good looks. A cunning smile and deep green eyes always seem to whisk me away at my feet.

This is the best bug related media since Bugs life 2, ask me 30 years ago, and i would've told you, "nothing can top this... though, bee movie DOES come close xD" Now I understand the woman from bee movie...

GOOD work Bugbo and crew, keep them coming!

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

What a sugar rush! Vroom!

Wow wow wow! What a roaring racetrack of an adventure!! From start to finish, I was gripping my seat like a steering wheel, flying left to right.

And Candy crush? Tell me about it! That king candy had my cheeks glowing honeyglow awful, him being evil only added to the charm, talk about a man who knows how to get what he wants! The eye candy - get it? In this film was too much to handle! If this film had as much eye candy as bugs, I wouldn't know what to say😂 Fix it felix could fix me that's for certain. Can I admit something? That calhoun had my heart soaring. A lady has never had my heart thumping like that, but she was just one dynamite gal! Oops, that probably wouldn't be the best thing to say to her 😂 Keep it up Disney!

The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)

Momma Mia!

Illumination! Did you get the reference? If you didn't, don't worry about it, being a mario fan is not necessary to have a wild time with this showstopper, so let's just get into this review!

My kids love mario. They're always saying momma mia, chuckingabow, elpang, and momma luigi, so they were destined to love this movie. Me on the other hand? The gamer life wasn't for me. So going into this movie, I felt scared! Honestly I thought, this will be a waste of my life. Sure the 4D is fun, but if you're not a gamer, why bother? Call me cheepskate, but I now understand how wrong I was.

From the little doggy to the little boseer, I felt the thrill of a lifetime, and no, it wasn't the 4D xD. I hope you don't mind, but I still have my complaints.

First up, not only did Luigi not get to say the line "that's momma Luigi to you", he didn't get to say any lines at all! With a few more Luigi here as there, this movie could have really shined. Not to mention, he was pretty handsome! After seeing mario for a while, you kind of wish Luigi was on your screen. Mario, if you're reading this, I'm sorry!

At the end of the day, you won't think it's a masterpiece, but you'll be feeling like a superstar, jumping like a cat, and flying like a raccoon. While the Luma was a cherub, the dark thoughts did come to mind. Momma mia, What a film!

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022)

It was a dark, 9:00pm, December, and i sat intently with the kids during the last 10 minutes as my heart almost gave in. By the Gods, WHAT a movie. I think I speak for all of us when I say, "BALISIMO, Guillermo Del Toro DOES IT AGAIN." First with pans labyrinth (2006), then Shape of Water (2017) and even the Greatest Showman (2017), he managed to sneak into our hearts for the Final Time. Balismo Amore Mio! I now question my mortality, loves 😂 To be Immortal, it removes our humanity. But Memories my dear are ever lasting, and that is where we are human. Loved the Anti-War messages, I'm not fond of that in all honesty. War is very scary and it scared me. I cannot recommend Enough, but do not let 4 or 2 year olds watch because they just won't get it, okay? GUILLERMO! Keep them coming... or don't... what happens happens, doesn't it? 🇮🇹💕 Love to Italy and the great Stories? No, the great Experience.💖

The Lion King 1½ (2004 Video)

Representation done right!

It's not everyday that you see a spin-off sequel that meets its maker, but The Lion King (2004) serves well, living up to the expectations of the original film. Disney once again manages to get the kids clapping along to the sounds of sweet timon. (Might I add, gorgeous voice Nathan Lee xD) Never did I think THIS movie of all movies, would represent the romantic relationship of two men so perfectly! Beautiful representation, Disney! Simba was also a delight, it was wonderful to see him arise once more in a whole new narration. The kids also enjoyed the fart jokes immensely - Last time they were this happy, Uncle Markus was the one to let it rip xD So much better than the likes of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, which i believe was made by Roald Dahl in the 1800's. Will I watch this again? Not likely. Im not a sucker for animal based movies. However, I did order the kids a cassette of the tunes, and i will be taking it away for thanksgiving. XD.

Breaking Bad (2008–2013)

It's definitely bad alright

No wit, No humour, and definitely NOT suitable for the kids! Breaking Bad (2008) feeds the hungry self-centred know it all's by having its protagonist be most selfish and foul to his accomplices! How can anyone find this enjoyable? Not to mention the poor attempts at comedy, it's clear they're trying to imitate the greats such as "The Plank" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Brilliant. JUST BRILLIANT. Well done Hollywood, yet another failure. Oh, for Petes Sake! There is NO commitment to actually entertaining the kids whatsoever, which is highly questionable for its PG rating! Don't get fuddled up, the acting is gorgeous, completely beyond my comprehension. But do not waltz around and spit and sneeze on kids hopes and dreams with such twisted episodic concepts! The kids were very disappointed with this one, and I concur. Definitely skip this, for the sake of your children - At least the writers are self aware of how "breakingly BAD" their show is!

A Monster in Paris (2011)

Un monstre mi amor!

Un mostre à Paris, AKA The monster at France (2011) Is an insanely fun adventure for all the family! The introduction was like nothing i had ever seen - So powerful and teary eyed... Sean Lennon really knows how to pull a heart string with his melodies. (His dads jeans really shine through) My jaw dropped when he sang "La Seen" I cant say the kids felt the same xD i was head over heals at the sight of the beast and his beauty, Tres Bien! My critiques lie with the Raoul and Luciles relationship. Are you kidding me Dreamworks? Toxic love is definitely a No Go, No Show. Don't worry, i'm not heartless! The green man and his wife were a lovely couple, they really represented the French Romance the movie was missing! This movie is an overall hit or miss, if you don't get the jokes you've probably never read "Catch-22" Which is definitely the movies main source of inspiration besides "The Epic of Gilgamesh" and the classic sherlocks!

Shrek 2 (2004)

Happily ever afters do come true!

Ok, I'll admit. There are many points in this movie where I thought it was going to go really downhill, and never redeem itself, and even ruin the franchise forever. But I was wrong! Shrek 2 is probably the best in this series! Also, can we talk about that king? If I can say this, he's the real Prince Charming! XD Donkey if you couldn't tell is my favourite character. So funny, he made the kids laugh, thank you Eddie! Sometimes I missed Lord Farquaad. But that's not the movies fault, because he died, so it wouldn't make sense for him be there.

Megamind (2010)

Mega love!!

Wow, what a showstopper! Where do I even begin? That minion is so cute and funny, and small, our kids were devastated that they couldn't hug it! Which takes me onto my next point, megamind himself! Normally Metroman is my ideal kind of guy, but Megamind really swept me off my feet! Intelligent, handsome and a good heart? Oops! That's a spoiler. Now I'll have to mark this as a spoiler review xD but really. That megamind had my heart going wild! Lucky Roxanne! The plot was also good.

Encanto (2021)

Just stunning!

This movie is a delight! What can I say but wow wow wow? My kids enjoyed the party scene, it made us dance like crazy! That wasn't the only thing making my heart soar - that bruno is a real charmer!! I know he's all about that single life, but I just can't help it! The songs are also just wonderful, I'll be singing them all day, Lin really knows a thing or two about making a catchy tune xD Abuela was really funny. The Donkeys were also a real treat. Since shrek, I've been waiting for more donkey characters, and this delivered! Casita was also beautiful, the colours were like nothing I've seen! It reminded me of my old flat. I know we don't talk about Bruno, but I've been talking about him non stop! XD Grandma Nortie has said it's gone far enough, but she just doesn't get the appeal, her brain is tacky like a banana peel. Good heavens, Lin has inspired me to rhyme more xD only complaint is.. nothing! Keep them coming Disney!

Sing (2016)

There's only one way to go, and that's up!

Isn't it incredible how an animated movie about elephants and mice getting along can be so touching? I'm definitely not the only one who thinks it. Sing (2016) is a love letter to those who believe anyone, no matter how scrawny or hulk infused, can show their musical talents. Obviously, not everyone can sing and that's probably okay. For what it's worth, it's a huge step forward from Pitch perfect (2012). Buster moon is a terrific protagonist who brings life to the stage, with his optimistic attitude and undying love for his to be wedded husband, Eddie Noodleman, i couldn't have picked a better protagonist! Props to illuminations on this one, I see they took the Minions critiques well xD Uncle Markus admired this one deeply before his passing, and while that seriously scared the kids at first, they eventually came round to understanding the movies true underlying beauty. Oh, and of course, the musical chair scene gets us all the time xD Definitely influenced the kids during supper to go wild! Walmart won't be happy about our frequent home decor visits! In a way, we are all just elephants and mice, waiting for a chance to rise to stardom. But don't wait my dear, miracles start with you <3.

WALL·E (2008)

I am not puzzled, because this is a understandable masterpiece!!

Wall-E, A perfectly perfected work of art, so masterful, it made me put my high IQ to work and become a member of Apple. This movie came out in 2008 (I know this wondrous fact) and it has absolutely demolished all other movies i have watched!! (I live in 2022 so I watched the movies that came out in this time). Because this wonder meets my high standards I have given it a 10 out of 10!!! Truly brought a tear to my eye. I cry everytime watching this movie!

Cars 2 (2011)

I hate a movie!! I don't like this one.

This is a disgrace to the cars franchise!! The first film started strong, with incredible characters and beautiful scenery! It's a film you can't get enough of, no matter how much you watch! This on the other hand is like an abanonded racetrack, no soul left. I had such high hopes for my favourite character Mater, who seemed to get the side treatment. We all know he should have been the main character. Devilishly handsome and great personality? What more could you want!

Inside Out (I) (2015)

This is a cinematic masterpiece

Wow!!!! I love this m movie! It is very different to most movies (that is a good thing!!?). I love Joy, she's filled with Joy if you couldn't tell, like my pet dog and pet fish and pet cat. Overall this movie I would recommend to any age from 7 to 22. It might be too insane and wild and crazy for people over or under. If I had to say one bad factor, I would say that the side characters don't get enough screen time, Besides that, this is a masterpiece.

Planes (2013)

Plane old rubbish!!

This movie was a disaster! My child was so upset the whole way through!! Totally bad! What more can be said? The only redeeming factor is that it like cars movie in cinema. It's like they just copied the plot of cars, talk about a rip off. At least my dog enjoyed. Would recommend for kids aged 2 and under, older than that? It'll bore them to death! I know from experience.

Toy Story 4 (2019)

Made me cry (In joy)

This movie is absolutely astonishing, I cannot fathom the dopamine I felt as the plot was going forward, All the characters contrast each other very well, their divine uniqueness really shows how vast and beautiful the toy story world really is, my only complaint is that the cat in the store looked too realistic to the point where it was impossible not to dislike, however all of the characters being so fantastical made up for this silly mistake. Thank you disney for the joy of a lifetime.

Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015)

Counting sheep will make you sleep! NOT

One of my favourite movies, Aardman does not disappoint with their quality family content! While this was a hit or miss with the kids, i thoroughly enjoyed it. There isn't one point in the movie that feels flawed! I feel this movie also hints at a potential romantic relationship between Shaun and Bitzer in the future? Grandma Nortie noticed it too xD The farmer and little timmy will always be my absolute favourites of the franchise, the farmer for obvious reasons, and timmy is just a bundle of joy! We had many great laughs throughout its hour long duration. Those who rate the movie below a 6 or even a 3 are missing the message of family and acceptance, and i am ashamed. I would've rated this movie a masterpiece if it weren't for the villain. He promoted war, not piece. He was a great disturbance to the children's Mental health, reminding them of their late uncle markus who raised a barn up in Jersey. Nevertheless, a wonderful addition to our DVD collection. Very spectacular Shaun! I won't be sleeping tonight xD.

Everything's Rosie (2010– )

Take off those rose coloured glasses!

Everything's Rosie (2010) Was a wonderful journey into a fantasy world aimed for kids. It's like a funair really, it has its ups and downs. My biggest nitpick goes to the blue bear, who was clearly inspired by disneys Baloo the bear. Everything about this baloo rip off is identical to the original. It's a complete utter and waste of a beautiful animation series. I do think they should reboot this series however, with a bigger budget (and minus baloo) i'm sure they could create something gorgeous. Please don't think i only have negative opinions to offer, it's such a miracle that this show was able to put the children to sleep when they were restless. Rosie herself was a very strong protagonist, she taught me to be independent and strive for greatness... and the tree was certainly charming, (or atleast charmed me xD) But realistically, it would be hard to survive in such bare lands no matter how fantastical it may seem. And so, Rosie, take off those rose coloured glasses and find the truth!

The Good Dinosaur (2015)

Dinosaurs before they went extinct!

You might not want to hear this, but this film is a masterpiece. It's not normal for us to see dinosaurs, because they went extinct a long time ago, but this film gives us a beautiful glimpse into what life was like for dinosaurs! If you didn't get the plot, you obviously wasn't watching. My kids and I watch this every Christmas and will continue to do so, even though dinosaurs are old, this film will never be! Only complaint I had was that there was no eye candy! I would have included a handsome caveman or two xD or three.

The Adventures of Tintin (2011)

Well... the secret is out

Where do i begin? This movie is wonderful, start to finish. The action sequences are truly enticing, me and the kids couldn't get our eyes off the screen! Don't get me started on Tintin and Haddocks incredible CGI, i couldn't take my eyes off them either LOL! How do i put it? They were really handsome! My kids of course instantly fell inlove with Snowy. I'm so pleased they put him to good use in this movie! It's nice to see the animal character be appreciated for one (looking at wallace and gromit). This will forever be known as a classic for me and my family, it's really what this generation needs! I believe the moral of the story would be to put your backbone into it, and you'll achieve anything! Good Work, Spielberg! Now we just need the Animaniacs live adaption xD.

Missing Link (2019)

Oh that monkey is hilarious!

This movie was certainly something. I will not give major spoilers as the movie just released a week ago. So this is a NON SPOILER review. The plotline is very simple, yet effective! I felt as if i was soaring in the sky while watching it, it's just THAT immersive! However, my main issues lie within the characters... Where was their depth? Their personality? It's a shame that such a gorgeously animated movie flopped in this aspect. They really do redeem themself with the monkey. He is gobsmackingly hilarious. The only reason i wish i could see this movie again for the first time is solely for the monkey. Cant get enough of the jokes, LAIKA! The kids really loved this one, but do beware of dark themes throughout the movie, i cant say they made it out with a happy smile or two... xD. Now is the time.

Super Mario Bros. (1993)

Who doesn't love the great John Leguizamo?

While the movie itself is not the greatest, there is a lot of charm brought to the table from the actors. At some points, i really felt that i was in the Super Mario Bros world (despite never playing a single game) At other points, it did start to drabble and drip. Don't get it twisted, I adore the concept. The visuals are also surprisingly pleasant for its time. (I may be a bit biased as John Leguizamo is my childhood hero xD) But his acting was extraordinary. I don't think there will be another lugigi quite like him again. The plot really doesn't do the movie justice, just like avatar, some elements are better than others in the grand scheme of things xD. Overall, 5.9. The Movie is definitely worth the watch. I was very lucky to see it premiere at the theatres in 1993, and would 100% go again!

Robots (2005)

So it all comes down to this...

Robots (2005) is marvellous. Ewan McGregor was a fantastic pick for Rodney Copperbottom, his design is not too bad either IYKWIM. The story is well crafted, lots of funny moments too. Just know the kids will love it dearly. I do think the movie could use a sequel however... This is because my main issues lie with the lack of character development. So much opportunity! Don't let this franchise go to waste, 20th century fox! (More rodney too please, he certainly is one xD )
