Kaleidoscope (2023)
Just doesn't work
This series reminded me the phrases "looking at the tree and missing the whole forest". This series is supposed to be a heist of the safest vault in the whole world and I felt like I was watching a drama most of the time. It's very easy to notice that they tried to squeeze some many details in so few episodes and at some point you're forgetting you're watching a heist series. And in the end personally I don't care that it's made to be watched in countless ways. If this was the point why would the next episode be played automatically? Shouldn't I be the one who decides which episode I want to watch next ?
Maestro (2022)
Leniently devastating!
I've never been fan of the Greek drama series because one always sees cringey performances with a tendency to a tragically presented soap opera with the level of a first year drama student and a stiff and awkward-out of the every day life script than an actual "real life drama". BUT! Despite the fact that the script stiffness remains and it's easily noticeable, this series ruined 9 hours of my life. The facts are realistic and actually real, the devastation is present and consuming. I've never lost my sleep due to the pain caused by something I watched and somehow every character becomes at some point relatable and one can actually feel their pain and sadness and desperation. Very theatrical moments that help even more to relate and understand every character's background and cause of their tragedy and pain . Absolutely recommended BUT IT'S TRIGGERING ALL THE WAY.
Spiderhead (2022)
As it seems the bad guys stil can't catch a break ..
Happy endings are out! Happy endings are as cliché as they can get! Unfortunately it was so expected for the underdogs of the movie the break free eventually riding in the sunset ... so good always wins, so romantic, so overdone.
What started to be an interesting plot, having always in mind that "parthenogenesis" doesn't exist anymore, ended up being another love story of redemption.
And the worst part; the "villain" not only suffered the consequences of seeing his evil plan failing but he had to die. Why do they always have to die?!
Since it's -based- on a book , I'm sure there's always room for small adjustments. But no! The bad guy always has to be completely eliminated.
The Unholy (2021)
Voldemort died again!
Some bad acting with the cliché face of always wonder , some cliché jump scares and some extra budget on CGI created a bad version of Voldemort's death (literally the same scene)
Started interestingly but quickly turned into a rushed movie with low budget on everything.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Unfortunate and lacking
I'm trying so hard not to be hard on this movie. I got so excited when it was announced and now I'm so disappointed. It's lacking the glamour of the past movies, the action, the confidence they exuded. There was always a hint of style and now this one I feel I tried to portray everyone unnecessarily more humane.
Smith was very uninteresting to watch . He lacked the evilness and power of Hugo Weaving's performance. I missed the grandeur of his speeches and his general purpose. He had no purpose in this movie and yet he was there.
I loved the new Merovingian and yet he had such a small role.
Overall the movie lacked original script , I felt it was very focused on love (very unoriginal) and finding your loved one and because of that they missed all the other great elements of the previous trilogy.
