Prison Break: Killing Your Number (2009)
Not the best WAY of ending to such a great series
To start with, i'm going to give a 10 on 10 for the series. To me this is the best TV series as yet and for a long time to come. But coming to think of the way the ending was done it was not quite satisfactory. It was very much obvious that Scylla was never going to be in the hands of evil and Michael and CO would do their best to ensure that but that happened too soon... I mean the way each episode leading up to the end was made, i can only say it's rushed and as we all know if it is rushed it's not going to be good. But that's the great thing about this series that even a rushed thing was made to look good but not great... anyway all in all a wonderful experience... All the actors were living their characters and it was such an excellent performance from the protagonist "Wentworth Miller" as Michael Scofield... Please someone clarify why he had to be killed...
Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
Good but doesn't deserve the Oscar
I'm not sure how Oscars awarded to the movies. Now i have a deep doubt with the system itself.
I had always looked up to the Oscars as a body providing good justice to great movies - Is that not why they are there where they are now??? I'm still looking for some deep answers about this movie winning so many Oscars...
OK. I would not say the movie is bad. the movie is good but not great by any stretch of imagination. How can anyone compare this movie with the likes of Gandhi, Amadeus, My fair lady which too has won 8 Oscars each... I have seen better movies than this that were not even nominated for the Oscars...
I don't know what is wrong with the system? Anyway that's about my grief...
As far as the movie is concerned it is a very nicely scripted movie with decent acting and good music. Again, the music doesn't deserve an Oscar. AR Rahman does deserve an Oscar for whatever he had done earlier but for THIS????? NO WAY!!!! IT is not even close to anything worth mentioning as far as i'm concerned...
If at all you wanna watch this movie, i'd strongly recommend it but just be open enough to realize the facts...
Prison Break: Selfless (2008)
It might just be losing it's way...
Well... i just loved the quiet riot episode was keenly looking forward to this one... but i must admit that it is somewhat a disappointment... am an ardent fan of prison break and despite it's loopholes, i still continued to love it because of it's twists and the unexpectedness... but i just feel it has lost it's way or rather it's losing it's way...
to start with... the General having found that Michael has got his hands on the Scylla, he asked for a team to come down to tat place... but strangely there were only 2 men... having heard of how shrewd Michael is, i guess the general missed the plot here... we have seen how shrewd the general himself could be... tat was not totally satisfactory... he gave up a bit too easily...
anyway... still it had it's share of thrill rides but not as good as how it used to be... and it was so predictable that there would be more chase by the way all of em were talking at the end of the episode...
to add to that another twist with Don Self... well... i guess he might join hands with T-Bag...
Now, the rest of the storyline is pretty easily have become predictable with only 4 more episodes to go...
I only hope the creators would give a grand ending to what could be considered as one of the finest TV series...
Looking forward to a better show next week...
Prison Break: Quiet Riot (2008)
A Humdinger!!!!!
Wow!!! This was one of the best episodes of this series...
the kinda build up it had and the way in which it was executed....... everything... it's simply amazing... i just cant wait to watch the next episode...
first of all... there were some plot holes which were pretty apparent but those were made to be overseen by the excellent direction and execution by the actors involved...
after knowing the next episode titled as "selfless", you only hope that someone from the team gives their life selflessly...
Cant wait for the next episode!!!!!!
Ocean's Thirteen (2007)
Good, But not satisfactory
The movie had a lotta expectation --- but as far as i'm concerned it didn't live up to it. Steven did a very nice job directing but it was not as good as the first part. The spark which was there in the first part is absent. All the planning and execution has been filmed with exceptional brilliance. As usual, Steven scores in that. But... an actor of Al Pacino's caliber has been wasted. He didn't have much to do except sit back let everything happen---especially when he was introduced as such a rude n crude person. The comedy plays a very very important part---the spontaneous dialogue delivery from george clooney and brad pitt are still good and i'd say its even better...Overall, the movie is an excellent entertainer---its a little disappointing only because of the image created by the previous 2 versions... But all in all, a very nice movie---A MUST-SEE FOR EVERYONE---I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE FOR EVERYONE...
Enjoy !!!
