Wolf Pack (2023)
So over zombies, this is refreshing!
I was very happy to see it's not another zombie show. Everyone is talking about The Last of Us and I honestly don't get it. The werewolf is something new and different, and I have so far enjoyed the setup. Yeah the autistic kids a bit of a annoyance, because it doesn't come across to me as authentic, but then what do I know? I am interested to see where the story goes and it's so good to see Sarah Michelle Geller on a new show. I hope that people give this a chance, and that we get all the episodes as well as a second season. We still have a lot more that can be explored with the werewolf myth that isn't related to Twilight or Underworld.
Walker: Independence (2022)
Nice to have a new Western series
I am a big fan of Jared Padalecki, and I will watching advocate for any series he is involved with. I am Overjoyed at the success of Walker, and was happy to hear about this spin-off series. Besides knowing this is set in the past of the Walker family, I deliberately did not seek out any information about this new series.
I am very pleasantly surprised by Walker: Independence. I think the casting has been top notch, particularly Matt Barr's second iteration as Hoyt. He plays the character brilliantly, and I was so dismayed when he was killed off in Walker. This is such an elegant solution, and I am thrilled to have the chance to get to know this new-old character in a new setting, where his "bad-boy" self is in a perfect environment for such a character to thrive.
I am already quite invested in the three main characters. I care about Abby getting her vengeance, and Hoyt finding his place, and Colian finding acceptance in both of his worlds. I'm not as thrilled over Kate, she seems too modern and out of place in this small town, but hopefully she'll grow on me. I was also thrilled to see Mark Sheppard - I may have squealed just a little (or screamed, really) when I saw him! He may not be more than a fleeting character, but it warm my little SPN heart to see him!
I have high hopes for this series and I think it's off to a great start!

The Wheel of Time (2021)
Epic Fantasy does not disappoint!
I tried reading the books once, over 15 years ago. I made it through the third book and decided there was too much else I wanted to read and it wasn't worth going forward.
So now here we are 15 years later, and I know the basics that lead to the major character and plot arcs, but details escape me. So I queue up to embark on this journey and I am utterly hooked and fascinated enough so that I bought the first book in the series again. I am in love and I don't want this to end! Just finished the 4th episode and would love it if there were 10 more to go!
