Jeez, people...
22 March 2004
Much to my joy, I was looking for something on my MST3K videotapes this weekend, and I stumbled across this movie on one of them...a new MST3K that I had taped years ago and never watched! Joy! Ok, so I watched this movie, and it's honestly not that bad! Yes, it's a bit cheesy in a 1970s sort of way, and there are a few pauses when people are speaking, and there are lines like "This is where the fish live", but this movie is really not that awful! Watching a film like "Manos" or "Red Zone Cuba" without the MST3K treatment would make a person long for the sweet release of death, but I think I could have watched this film without the riffing and still have enjoyed it. I thought it was a decent movie. True, it had plotholes big enough to drive a barfed-on Charger through, but it was a pretty decent movie. And I have a HUGE crush on the main character, Melissa. Touched by Satan or not, she's a sweetie who only wanted to help her sister. :(

Panic Room (2002)
Ok, it was good until the end *SPOILERS*
5 October 2002
Warning: Spoilers
You know, I actually really liked this movie up until the very end...

***SPOILERS!!!***

I'm going to still try to write this so that it doesn't reveal too much, but my big problem with the movie is that it should have ended with you-know-who getting away with the money. I mean, he did the right thing throughout the whole movie, and I was sure that the movie was going to end with the police bringing him back into the house. Jodie Foster would look at him and say that he is a neighbor of hers and had nothing to do with the robbery, letting him get away with the money. I mean...he saved their lives!!! So, in the end, he does the right thing and gets screwed for it.

I hated this ending. Yeah...maybe it's more "realistic", but I don't always go to the movies to see realism.

Nowhere Man (1995–1996)
I miss this show...
31 October 2001
Warning: Spoilers
Wow...I can't believe other people remember this show as well as I do. I've seen a lot of shows in my life, but for some reason, this show has always stuck with me. I'm lucky enough to still have one episode of this show on tape, so every now and then I can watch it and remember how much I loved it. And correct me if I'm wrong, but in the last aired episode, didn't Thomas Veil find out that he was really a hitman named Gemini? Or did I just dream that?

Hobgoblins (1988)
I can't believe I'm saying this...
31 October 2001
Ok...being a hardcore fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000, I heard all about "Hobgoblins" and how bad it was before I saw it. And then I finally saw it. And you know what? Honest to God...this movie is not *that* bad! Yes, it's downright goofy and dumb, but I also thought that it was kind of....cute. Like the fact that the dopey army guy ended up alive at the end of the movie for no reason. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some BAD movies. It's just that "Hobgoblins" really never does take itself seriously. Look at "Manos: The Hands Of Fate" or "Red Zone Cuba". These movies are awful because they're bad, AND they wanted to be taken seriously. "Hobgoblins" is just a fluff movie that jumped on the "Gremlins" bandwagon and believe it or not, it actually made me laugh once or twice. It's not as horrid as people say it is. Besides...the monsters are cute. :) And so is the sex-crazed 80's chick. :)
