Be simple and consistent to the story
'Fish Out of Water' is a short comedy movie directed by Lala Rolls, and written by Stephanie Rountree, in 2005. A man is glad that he can go to
work alone by his boat, because he wants to avoid the traffic jam. However, eventually he does not feel comfortable, because many people ride
on his boat in order to commute to the city. This movie has no dialogue, but it is quite easy for the audience to understand, because the actors,
especially the man who is the main character, have an expressive face which makes the audience understand the situation. For example, there is
visual storytelling that he makes an unpleasant face before he gives a man and woman a ride to the city. It means that he does not want to give
them a ride, but he wants to ride in his boat only by himself. On the whole, this movie has a clear and simple plot which the audience can understand, so it is worth seeing.
The Lunch Date (1989)

'The Lunch Date' is a short drama movie directed and written by Adam Davidson in 1989. A woman, who misses the train, stops in at a restaurant, and buys a salad for her lunch. However, she realizes that it is eaten by a homeless black man when she goes to take a fork, and returns to her table. Although this movie has a short story, it clearly expresses her feeling from the beginning to the end, which is easy for the audience to understand. For example, we see that she has tears in her eyes after she not only misses the train, but she bumps into a black man, and drops her things. This scene makes the audience feel how sad she is. In addition, there is clear visual storytelling in this movie. For instance, a scene where she realizes she has forgotten to bring a fork to eat her lunch. In this scene, she expresses it only by her gesture. Overall, this movie is very simple and comprehensible, so it should be highly accepted.

A boy called Keisuke is a half Japanese and half black boy and transfer student from another school. When he goes to new school on his first day, he is discriminated against by his new classmates because of his skin color. This movie has a very consistent plot, because it shows the problem of discrimination, prejudice and stereotypes against black people. Moreover, there is clear visual storytelling in this movie. For example, there is a direction that he turns his eyes on his black skin color after he looks at a group photograph at the beginning of the story. It means that he is worried whether he can get accustomed to his new school because of his skin color. On the whole, this movie describes the importance of accepting diversity, and is easy for the audience to understand, so it deserves to be seen.
Three Days in Kamakura (2012)
A movie which teaches us the importance of relationship
'Three Days in Kamakura' is a short drama and romance movie written and directed by Alec McAulay in 2012. David and Keiko have some trouble in their marriage. A small boy called Jay, who is half Japanese and half Western, appears to them, and plays an important role in their married life. There is a consistency to their behavior and the story itself, because this movie describes the relationship not only in David's family, but also Jay's family and the family of David's neighbor. In addition, this movie has visual storytelling so we can easily understand a situation. For example, there is a scene that David breaths a small sigh with a gloomy face when he finishes eating breakfast at the beginning of the story. It means that he does not get along well with Keiko in his life. On the whole, this movie has a very consistent plot to the story, so it continues to be highly evaluated.

woman is single. When a man speaking on the subway says "There are five million single women in France, and where are they?" she looks away from him for a moment. It means that she is a single person and one of the five million women. On the whole, this movie makes it easy for the audience to understand from the perspective of the direction, so it is worth seeing.
Knick Knack (1989)

'Knick-Knack' is a short comedy movie made by Pixar Animation Studios in 1989. A snowman which is in a snow glove is asked to come out by a girl and take part in the group of her friends. There is no dialogue between the characters, but there is a consistency to their behavior in this movie, especially the snowman's behavior, because the snowman copes with the problem that he cannot go to the outside of the snow globe from the beginning to the end. In addition, this movie has clear visual storytelling. For example, there is a direction that this event is held on the bookshelf. It is hardly clarified at the beginning of the story, but as the story progresses, the audience can understand it, because they can see that there are many books on the bookshelf when the snow globe falls off it. Overall, this movie is simple and easy to understand, so it is worth seeing.
A Moment (2012)
A movie which is consistent to the story
'A Moment' is an omnibus movie directed by Akira Sasaki. Four people who have each lost an important person decide to live in society, though it is difficult for them to forget the sorrow. There is no dialogue, but there is consistency to their behavior and visual storytelling in this movie. For example, a Japanese woman who practices a drama called "Saikai", which means "Reunion" in English, cries at the roadside while holding a ticket for the drama. In this scene, the word "Saikai" is not emphasized, because the camera takes it for just a minute, but the scene clearly expresses that she wants to meet a valuable person to her again. Therefore, the audience can understand not only the situation, but also the story itself even if this movie does not have dialogue. In conclusion, this movie has a consistent plot which is useful for the audience to understand, so it is worth seeing.
Whacked (1998)
A story like a mystery
'Whacked' is a short movie directed by Rolf Gibbs in 1998. A man who is a driver of a golf cart, which collects golf balls, works in the golf facilities, while people who are walking in the street in New York city suddenly fall on the ground, and an ambulance siren rings throughout the streets. This movie has no dialogue, but it is very consistent in terms of the direction and story itself. For example, there is a direction that people in New York city fall down on the spot. As a result, the audience can look at and enjoy a mystery from the beginning to the end as if they made clear the situation. Moreover, this movie has clear visual storytelling. For instance, it is the direction that the audience can immediately understand the location, which is New York city, because a man in the street wears a T-shirt which says "I love New York" or the Empire State Building appears at the end of the movie. On the whole, this movie has a definite plot, so it should be highly evaluated.
Lifted (2006)
A funny, but deep story.
"Lifted" is a short comedy movie by Pixar Animation Studios in 2006. An
alien, who takes a test how to control a spacecraft, tries to take a
sleeping man into his spacecraft, but he cannot do it, because he has no
idea how to use the machine. This movie does not have dialogue, but it
can express the nature of the story by the actions of the alien.
Therefore, there is a consistency not only to the behavior, but also to
the story itself. In addition, the alien is very expressive, so we can
understand the situation that he is having trouble. The directions in
the story are also excellent and admirable. For example, there are a
swing and windmill which are swayed by the wind in the beginning of the
story. I think it lets us know that something strange will happen in the
quiet fields. Overall, this movie is interesting and easy to understand,
so it is worth seeing.
