A surprise in every one!
25 August 2022
Whilst these films don't rate very highly in 2022 one thing should be remembered, back in the 1970's they were the most popular films of the year!

A sex-starved UK population? Probably not, but, it's sure that the nudity on offer within the adventures series along with the 'carry on' comedic value had a lot to say for their success, today they may seem creaky, not brilliantly acted and a overall a bit silly, but it's what the public wanted and they got it in droves.

Warning: Spoilers
Possibly the most boring, dull, pathetic, annoying, drab pile of film puke I have ever seen in my life, seen over two thousand films, so that's pretty bad. To all you that enjoyed it, what drugs are you on? Where can I find them?

Strange behavior

Warning: Spoilers
Well this one had promise, but the annoying stares and many fades to black and the continues use of a trashy rock band soundtrack didn't help it's progress. Annoying dogs barking often added even more irritation to the soundtrack.

On the Good side the acting wasn't bad, and i did want to find out what happened in the end.

Will have its appeal to certain audiences, but not sure that's a good thing.

What did I miss
1 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I made 50 mins and had to turn it off, was it me that could not understand what the hell is going on?

Okay it's the future and someone is controlling humans with drugs, life looks bleak! But they're told to be happy.

It reminds me of the very funny woody Allen film sleeper, which is also set in the future, but ultimately is a comedy, this is just way out and you need to be on a different level to get it, or it's just art house trash.

I have no idea and I doubt I ever will.

That's my honest take on it.

Only a 7
30 July 2022
A rating of 7 in 2022! Who's kidding, a rotten low score for a classy sassy thriller that still seems fresh today, Douglas and Stone are both at their peak! Especially Stone, gorgeous beyond the 100 million in her characters bank! Almost worth being nailed by ice breaker for.

The music is also especially superb, with echoes of Hitchcock all over the place, this high-budget super sexy thriller from the '90s won't be seen again, it's a bit like classic Hollywood has returned for one peek and that's why it's 7.6 all day long. Not to mention the classic leg swooping scene, which has become part of film parody since its release.

If you haven't seen it, see it and see it in HD only, you won't regret this one.

The missing link
9 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It should be the missing film!

I had been putting off watching this prize turkey for many years only to finally watch out of interest in the star's last film Joan Crawford.

My memories of her will stay with films like Mildred Pierce and Baby Jane and not this monstrous nonsense.

You'd think they would have spent some money on trogs makeup rather than picking up a monkey mask from a joke shop, not kidding it is pretty bad.

Also, there are well-known good actors in this which just goes to show what people will do for a bit of cash.

Pleased I finally got to see it, only now I can put it to bed and try to forget just how low some filmmakers can go.

Have a drink and watch with friends for a laugh, but don't blame Crawford, she obviously had her reasons for taking it on and what a star she was.

many
3 July 2022
Many of the negative low ratings I believe are due to dislike of Thatcher full stop.

The film plays out well in the short time it runs, it capitalizes on Mr T's most triumphant periods in office but doesn't spend much time on the failures until the end with the Polltax putting much of it and her to bed buy ruthless, gutless members from her own cabinet, Her biggest failure perhaps was she didn't see that coming or most likely it didn't scare bravery.

Overall, the figures seen and acting is quite tops, needless to say Streeps oscar playing Mrs T was quite outstanding, the film deserve to be seen without prejudice and it deserves higher rating than 6.4. As of 2022.

Prob the best
23 June 2022
Prob the finest heist gamgster movie made, certainly of the 1950's Cagney makes a return in finest roll as tough gamgster Cody Garrett, who doesn't stop until the jobs done.

Superb film all around, not a single floor.

Perfect cast, stunning blonde Virgina Mayor is perfect as Garretts wife, music and direction really doesn't get any better than this. A true gem, Warner Bros doing what is also does best.

Warning: Spoilers
Irratingly slow and a overall feel of badly made film.

Check out the B&Q led stick up lights as the computer eyes, we have some like that in the garden that work on solar.

Actually made me feel like watching a real old movie after sitting through this inspirating future trash.

Check out the 70's for computers that take over houses, ironically they seem more realistic than this one made 50 years later.

Enough said.

Oh my spirit
22 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Another drab spirit film, perfection 'soap opera' style acting and a badly written script makes sure you'll need a stiff drink after sitting trough this, make it a spirit, as thats about as close you'll get to one with this outing.

My kitten is more scary than this movie.

Shame, as the cinematography and effects are quite good, just it's such a predictable bore fest.

Incredibly low rating for a fairly entertaining pix.

Well acted and the story was intriguing enough to keep your attention, ok it's not an Oscar-winning smash by any level, having said that to all the low raters, why don't you try making a film one day?

You'll realize it's not as easy as you imagine. You're all critics and the majority wouldn't have a single clue just what goes into making something even as bad as you think this is.

Enjoy the movie, it's worth 90mins of you're time. 😉

falling short of in-between

Warning: Spoilers
A ghost love story.

Cinematography looks nice, but the sequences of flashbacks get very tiresome after a while, the overall film is dead slow, I think this one appeals to teens as it's sloppy and confusing at times.

Acting is a little bland but adequate.

It's pretty typical of modern films and to give it a fairly generous 5 makes it a pretty perfect average flix rating, it's not one I would remember or would recommend.

However, I can see it will have some fans.

Sexy grunting cavewoman
20 April 2022
Best parts of this film is the scenery, it looks real because it was filmed in Africa with some amazing back drop shots!

The second best part is the incredible good looking half naked females grunting along with the males, both not really caring who gets beaten to death first!

Sexy! Lots of fights, but meals that would put you off meat for life, and 0 dialogue. What's not to like ??

It's actually quite entertaining on a +++caveman level!

I enjoyed it, however, mostly for the incredible glamour cave girls, they didn't have much, but some hidden cave girl was obviously great with makeup, small costumes and making sure the girls assets were in view.

Not quite so so
18 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After 20 mins I decided if I watch much more I am gonna fall asleep! Like most of the reviews it is truly hideously boring with one on one dialogue without nothing happening.

The awful staged acting is so wooden and rehearsed it feels like a cheaply made soap opera -ironically from about 1990. So at least they got the period close, that's why it got a 1 star.

Dreadful movie, makers should been banned from filmmaking, sorry I mean soap making.

Not going anywhere
30 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This rather dull and unfunny crime drama mixture, did you ever see the dukes of hazard? Well you got the predictable emphasis on the dumb cops going on, a bunch of unfunny jokes mixed into a story of an innocent young man trying to locate his lost father in a Hicksville state, only to crush the path of a corrupt sheriff who manages to break more laws in the first 45 mins than anyone could imagine on Christmas eve.

It's not worth trying to explain this story, it's actually quite amazing it got made, more Netflix fodder for the hard of thinking.

Good fun
15 March 2022
One thing that this movie does well among entertain the whole time travel theory is it's use of a occasional Rock or classic pop piece of retro band music circa 1970's /80's, keep this is up and just maybe the music of this current generation 2022 will finally reboot that great Rock/pop music of our past for the future.

Enjoyed it.

Pain game
17 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Where to start, ok pros:

1: looks good On the screen.

That's about it.

Cons: Isn't good Rock is over the top and it's hard to warm to his bitter unpredictable antics.

Ridiculously easy for a nut job to kill off cop after cop In hideously nasty ways without much hassle.

The films editing is so fast it's hard to keep up and wonder if your watching reality or a maybe dream sequence, not made any easier with the constant wash of sound track, not one moment the music actually stops for a few seconds.

As above, the film hardly breathes, acting is stagnated, crushed with the short waits for the next death scene.

This is a film for low IQ who just enjoys murder death scenes, it really is poor.

The 3 is for the cinematography not a lot else.

Can do any wrong ?
19 January 2022
First of all, I look out for anything that Stephen Graham does because he does it so well! Even though this story of a troubled chief owner Graham depicts a new restaurant going through a tough night at Christmas and one thing leads to another and it's obvious the team aren't as strong as needed to cope with this busy and traumatic evening that opens up.

It keeps you watching as you know something is going to go tits up at any moment, then again, after watching too many kitchen nightmares shows it's pretty spot-on for realism, although I am sure people don't have nr fatal nut allergy reactions on a nightly basis.

The only criticism for me is it is a bit too much of the same with the occasional moments of stress overload from the pressure of getting everything on time and right, which leads to more pressure cooker moments and back to a slightly calmer atmosphere, there's near little information on chiefs background problems or how he made it to the heady heights of the head chief, and not a great deal happens.

All that being said some will enjoy the slow burn of boiling point and others will switch off due to seeing this a hundred times on a Ramsey show.

I found it overall fairly good, however, I am not sure I would have felt the same without Graham in the lead role.

Warning: Spoilers
Really annoying, irritating bunch of melon heads all talking rubbish over their zoom, only watched it in the to hope see them all be taken out one by one!

Films like this are pretty much the lowest form of the art form, in fact porno has more artistic merit than this genre. At least those people have a goal in mind, these not so much.

8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Unfortunately the film doesn't work as well.

If you can make it through the first 50 mins the next becomes a bit more interesting, overall it's a plodder and a lot of wasted drawn out scenes, shame as it looked v good, no complaints on the production standards or the acting, this time is the slow direction that makes this a overall disappointment.

There's no point in saying much about this film, just watch ID, the Original 1995 movie, this isn't a worthy of the name! Pretty awful idea of the 2nd, 20 years later.

It retains almost nothing of the first. If only Gumbo.

Why are writers and directors heading back in time to the 60's recently?

With Once upon a time in Hollywood, Get back the Beatles and now Last night in soho.

Its perhaps the glamour, the style, the music & the craving to be reminded of a past era that in many ways seems more appealing than life in 2021.

So without the rosey tinted glasses on, the 1960's was a special decade, huge changes, to many to mention in a review, I guess my point is this film works on this bygone era by bringing back a faithful stunning look of soho in a modern film, stylishly acted & well directed the film is turbulent ride that keeps you guessing and at times is quite disturbing, without going into a detailed plot i will leave this review with a thumbs up & with the word "go see it!" especially if you're a lover of the 60's & the horror genre. This one rocks!

Perhaps not one of my favourite hammer films, but the sets and cinematography and the cast are at their best to keep this film entertaining.

By the standards of 1965 it was quite a daring film, considered too much for Universal Hammer took it on and it does pay off. John Gilling directs this and does a good job.

Try get the restored version on blu ray it looks superb.
