Catching Killers (2021)
Quite good
Does not beat around the bush with fluff, filler, or bad re-enactments. The people who worked the actual cases get to tell their actual stories. I found this a very easy and relaxing watch, and I'm looking forward to more.
Longmire: Unquiet Mind (2013)
Vic ruined this one
I like the show all around, and the episode was not bad (even if a bit unrealistic), but Vic's bleeding heart, off- the-rails attitude the entire episode was really annoying. And the portrayal of the FBI guys as a-holes who come in and don't share anything with any of the local cops is also bad, but I realize that's a Hollywood staple. I work in federal law enforcement, and we always put the local guys to work. A joint task force gets put together, and we are all able to work together to solve the problem. There are sometimes turf wars between federal agencies on the scene, but, at the end of the day, everyone realizes that the local cops know more about the area than anyone else, and it's (generally) an environment of respect to see the issue to a timely conclusion. Example: No one I've ever met in the industry would ever walk into a local police station with no forewarning, without introducing themselves, and just say "don't you have a back up generator??"
TL;DR: Vic has a bleeding heart that she somehow developed between the last episode of season 1 and the premiere for season 2, and she just screams at everyone the whole time instead of using logical decision-making.
