Deserves at least 7 for me. Already doesn't like the typical cliche horror genre of 1990s-2000s, also it is well enough even for today.
First of all, not a teen horror drama, no such vampires, lycanthropes, a "cool" antagonist, not based on complex teenager relationship issues.
I bet the most cannot guess the end which is consistent throughout the story and not sloppy.
Editing is successful, especially in the last runaway scenes.
Imagination logic is good, a bit cinematography step in.
Melissa Sagemiller was great. She and Casey Affleck captured a meaningful chemistry, really.
By the way, seeing the first experiences of Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley and besides maybe Luke Wilson, is the excellent part for me, makes me think how they developed
themselves in this field throughout the years and became amazing artists.
