15 Till Midnight (2010)
A pleasure!
I'm not a professional reviewer, so I'm not going to get into all the fine details, but felt I needed to give this film a fair shake after seeing all the negative reviews. I can only guess they are expecting some multi-million dollar blockbuster with city destroying explosions, robots, and half naked chicks. This film was filmed on a shoestring budget, over a very tight shooting window, by guys that are "semi-pro" (for lack of a better word...)
Anyways, with that in mind, I thought the movie was excellent. First of all, it has a plot line, that's solid, and thought provoking. More than I can say for those robot films... The acting isn't bad at all, absolutely no worse than Shia's, so don't see that argument either. Yes, I will agree the soundtrack was a bit overbearing at times, so audio I would consider the weakest part of the film, the actors didn't seem mic'd properly a few times, but no where near killed the movie for me. Camera work was solid, and effects felt appropriate to the situation.
Overall, I enjoyed the film, felt the story was intriguing and deep. Which I what I watch movies for, not from eye candy. It held me through the entire film. People just need to watch it as an indie production and stop expecting a $200 million dollar budget.

M. Night Shyamalan holds true to his fans
I really enjoyed the movie, but I am a M. Night Shyamalan fan. It was original, tasteful (which a lot of "indy" developments are not today), and flows nicely. If you enjoy M. Night Shyamalan, you will not be disappointed with this film. Even my child liked the fantasy story to it. Had a few nice little "jump" scenes, and the characters are all very interesting. It all seemed very original, well developed, and very imaginative, creating a world of characters, that were entertaining and likable. Its very nice to have an original story thrown out finally in a time of movies that character development is based on how many guns they can shoot at once.

Ending kills a good movie
I really got into the movie, and was enjoying its trip through it, yes, it was mildly predictable, and it was more suspense thriller than horror, but it was an interesting story. I liked it, right up to that pitiful excuse for an ending. I never saw the original film, but I understand it follows it, but I don't get having such a richly developed character, as Nicholas Cages was, that is honest, and only doing what is truly right, I actually really LIKED the character, only to have it killed at the end, no climatic escape/rescue/or even some form of later vengeance. It completely killed it for me, had he made it, or had gotten some form of vengeance after the fact, I would have said this was one of the best movies I had ever seen. This was a production by a major film company, with big names, and a budget, I hate seeing such an "indy" ending to it.
