The Godfather Part III (1990)
Cringy
Coppola forgot how to direct the Godfather. Pacino forgot how to be the Godfather. He simply isn't Michael Corleone in this film. All the surviving characters reinvented themselves to be something they weren't in the first two films. It's like someone completely different and with no talent tried to copy the original films and failed. It's just too cringey and far too cliched to watch. Awful film. Duvall is rightly glad he had nothing to do with it.
Dark (2017)
Probably the best TV show I've ever seen.
Amazing story, fantastic script, beautiful musical score and superb acting. If this was an American show it would have started strong before they messed it all up. Dark just gets better and better with every episode. American shows always have filler episodes where not much happens but they need to pad the series out. I don't remember watching a single episode of Dark that wasn't as good as the rest.
I highly recommend watching this in German with subs. The English (actually American accented) dub is awful and detracts from the acting. Granted subs are harder to follow and you'll need to use the rewind button but the pay off is well worth it.
It's the best fictional tv series I've ever seen. I loved Lost even though it went on for too long and Dark does remind me of Lost a little. As well as Stranger Things and Inception.
It's now up there for me with Chernobyl and Band of Brothers.
Age of Tanks (2017)
Had to stop watching after 3 episodes.
Apart from the fact this is dubbed it's pretty obvious early on that this is a French production due to the heavy French bias. Apparently the tank was a French idea. Apparently the French liberated Paris but we're mistaken for Americans because of their uniforms and tanks. Eh?
And what about WW2 tanks battles in North Africa? What about the Sherman Firefly which was a US M4 Sherman modified by the British and the only allied tank capable of knocking out a Tiger?
I can understand there are elements of French WW2 history (Vichy) that the French may not wish to talk about, but at least give credit where it is due. It verges on anti-British. Why am I not surprised.
