Cruella (2021)
The power of Nature vs Nurture
Just saw it on the Cinema (first time ever since the Pandemic) and I must say that I had a very pleasant experience, seeing this women (human) empowering movie as the first on-cinema movie that I get to enjoy.
I was quite hooked throughout, although the first half of the movie was a bit dragging for me (the part where they told the story about Estella, maybe because I just couldn't wait to see Cruella making her appearance and wreak havoc).
Overall, I love these type of heroes because of the fact that these villains that's been getting bad rep all the while, are now having a moment for their side of the stories to be told: Maleficent, Cruella, also coming up in series, Loki.
All in all, acting and delivery by all ensemble cast was amazing; both Emmas are captivating; the fashion pop up sequences from Cruella are just bold and so cool to watch, the music / soundtrack to the movie which pretty much covers The best all-times Legendary Hits of Brit Music.
Key take out of the movie is, just as I put into the title. I believe that all men are born good and that goodness can be cultivated plus nurtured. In this day of age, we need to have the power from within us to nurture the goodness to prevail over evil. All day, everyday. Always.
Sound of Metal (2019)
A powerful lesson of stillness and... 'sitting
Riz Ahmed never cease to amaze me every time (I mean, EVERY TIME). The delivery of his performance in all of the movies I've seen him in: The Night Of (Series), Trishna, Four Lions (Rubber Dhingy Rapid days Haha), Reluctant Fundamentalist, even on Nightcrawler, never not amazing. His talent in acting is nothing short but innate. I knew that I'd like this movie just mere minutes since the opening intro, when Ruben and Lou were back at their 'gypsy' trailer. This movie makes me feel so much, mostly of: Heartache and Elation. I love Paul Ruci's character, and I sobbed when midway thru the movie, he was adamantly teaching Ruben on how to 'sit still'. Something that is not easy to master in real life these days, so I relate a lot to the main character's struggle on so many levels. I bet we all do. That need and urge to take control of everything in our lives. Not that there's anything wrong to that, rite? Who would, if it's not ourselves. At the end of the day, when all is said and done, the only thing we can do is to be ACCOUNTABLE for that decision. Whatever that is. So, whatever it is you choose to do in your life, be accountable for it... "And I sincerely hope, that it brings you happiness"

Thriller with a Heart
First off, kudos to Director Seo Yoo Min for her amazing directorial debut. A script and production that took years in the making and it totally got delivered beautifully by the whole cast and crew. The plot twist, unlike any other. 99 Minutes of the whole movie airtime that is just effectively brought to live with lively pace by the editing team, with its dynamic cut to cut. Keeping the escalation of the whole suspense and drama, building up at just the right speed, from start to ending. It's as if we're there, immersively experiencing the unraveling too with the characters. Finally, the acting of Seo Yea Ji and Kim Kang Woo, just makes the production all the more perfect. Subtle but rich in their delivery of every mimic, mannerism and gestures as the truth unfolds. Recalled is such a gem. Definitely a must watch. Once again kudos for the whole crew and cast. A remarkable piece indeed this one.
