It's in Texas. There is a chainsaw massacre.

Honestly, this film is a fun romp through many ideas filled with the bloody gore that we all crave. While this film is far from perfect (which TCM actually is), it's exactly what you'd expect and want from the film.

Setting is on point. Atmosphere is interesting and dark. Think Rob Zombie's Halloween intensity.

You're in for a Scream baby!

I've wanted to write this but did not want to include any spoilers as it's hard to do a review of this film without giving away a lot of it. I must say, they did a fantastic job on this sequel and providing a fresh and intriguing chapter to the Woodsboro murders. As usual, someone dons the Ghostface mask to bring back it's main characters but not in the exact way you think or may like. They are "passing the baton" to the next generation while allowing us to catch a glimpse into the lives of Sidney, Gale, and Dewey. The new cast provides an awesome ensemble with great rapport with one another. The shocks are there and plentiful but (and it might just be overanalyzing) when the truth comes out at the end, you sometimes question the "size" of the killer in some of the gut wrenching murder scenes. Something doesn't add up and quite frankly, that might be the twist of the knife that we will be getting in the newly announced "Scream 6".

You will not be disappointed if you are a fan of the franchise and even if you aren't but are familiar, it's a fun who-dun-it that packs a bloody punch!

Interesting Concept With Horrible Execution
10 February 2022
Trailer looked promising and while I love found footage films, the resurgence of "Blair Witch wannabes" recently have been stale. The acting in this is atrocious from everyone besides the witch but by the time we actually get a glimpse of her, the film is finished.

Was shocked to find out this is an actual place and seems to have been filmed in the actual location so I do give them props on that but otherwise skip this and go with something a bit more of a budget.

Double Decker Bologna Sandwiches Have Better Acting Skills

Watched this specifically for an episode of my podcast, Absolutely Horrifying. You do not need to watch the first one to understand this film as it literally has nothing to do with the first film. Hell, you do not even need to watch this one to understand the film as it has no cinematic value unless you're high on gas fumes. Probably the first and only "horror" movie that has an anti-vegetarian take but even the meat of this film has no seasoning. I had to split my viewing experience into two and still somehow wanted to scream at my television at the complete audacity of this film. The only way to make this movie better is for it to live on through a Krewe in a Mardi Gras parade.
