Beneath the Green (2023)
Am I on drugs???
Yeah, I thought maybe I was missing the point when I kept jumping forward looking desperately for a plot, or moral, or something, anything I could relate to. It's just not there. This is an empty room with boring pictures.
The good news is I watched and hour and 20 min. Movie in 15 minutes, 15 long, boring, wasted minutes. I looked for the reviews that granted it 3 stars on Amazon just in case I was being to harsh. Ha! One star is all it garnered. Everyone hated this waste of time.
I can't believe Amazon put this out there for Prime members to watch. I feel ripped off for my $ 139. Membership.
Flavorful Origins (2019)
Spoiled by the photography
It would have been a wonderful series to watch except for the over-the-top photography. The photographer was more interested in exposing their technique than presenting the actual subject of documentaries. All the closeups of splashing, bubbling, etc., would have been better served as exposure of the actual start to finish of the products and the people and places that produce them. This documentary was more "oh, look what I can do with my camera, cool huh" than "see, this is how it is done start to finish, and these are the people who produce such fantastic food, and this is where they live." All the important information was treated as more of an afterthought designed to highlight the photography technique.
The Brave Ones (2022)
Great Story
While it's true some of the transitions had to take place in my head (I know how to extrapolate) they actually caused me to be more invested in the story. I won't nitpick it to death over nonessentials I'll just say "where's season 2??". I'm going to be very angry with Netflix if this turns out to be another great series that they inexplicably drop in the middle. I thought Netflix had rethought their whimsical ADD attitude when deciding whether or not to continue series that everybody loves.
This series is another great cultural film that gives us glimpses into the life of people not us. I ♥♥
