Jack And Larry Scheme To Get Rid Of Terri
17 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The episode begins with a recap of Episode One. Jack telling Janet he just can't live with Terri. Janet tells him it's too late. Jack is still suffering from a very bruised ego.

Terri tries to make everything "right" with Jack at the apartment but everything she does makes it worse. (Partially due to incorrect information from Furley).

Some excellent one liners from Janet in this episode!

It was fun watching Furley dressed up like Carnac The Magnificent trying to guess Terri's name.

At the going away party Janet did an excellent impression of Larry. Jack did a dead ringer impression of Furley and Terri did a nice impression of Jack in the hospital from Episode One.

Sadly, Larry & Jack introduce a game at the party called "A Million Laughs". It turned out to be quite mean spirited. (Richard Kline nearly balked at doing that segment. He told the producers the audience would hate him. His instincts were correct as the studio audience gasped during the fake camera bit).

It did set up for a touching moment between Jack & Terri shortly after.

Too many spoilers here. Watch both episodes. Lots of laughs and a nice introduction to Priscilla Barnes as Terri!

Farewell Cindy! Welcome Terri!
12 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Jack and Janet have a going away party for the UCLA bound Cindy. Of course, that sets up the search for a new roommate.

Jack is working at Angelino's and doesn't have the time to help Janet in the search for a roommate.

Jack cuts his finger at Angelino's and needs to go to the hospital. The conversation between Filipe and Jack at the hospital is priceless.

When Janet finds out Jack is in the hospital she rushes over. That will set up her meeting with nurse Terri Alden later.

It turns out Jack has a superficial cut. The scene in the hospital between Jack, Terri, the doctor & the janitor is quite funny.

I won't spoil anymore. ...but it is an excellent introduction into Priscilla Barnes being the third member of the trio but it won't be easy.

Hank blames TV for his accident?
6 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
At a town hall meeting Emma proposes to enter into a contest with Wullerton to not watch TV for a week. So begins the comedic chaos. No TV in Dog River for one week....except for Oscar's basement when Emma is out of the house.

Trying not to spoil too much here as it's a very funny episode. Brief spoilers as to some of the comedy from this show.

People gather at Corner Gas to the watch "The Hank and Wanda Show". More or less watching out the window while Hank & Wanda battle with each other. Funny bit when Brent sings a version of the "Itchy & Scratchy" theme from The Simpson's during "The Hank and Wanda" show.

Davis & Karen begin broadcasting a Jazz station. Davis adopts a smooth voice for the show. (Karen really wants to broadcast a classic rock station). Davis is disappointed that there are no jazz fans. Finally Michael Buble calls in and requests one of his own songs. Davis insists Buble's music isn't Jazz. Comedy gold.

I really enjoyed this episode as you can see by my rating.

You get what you pay for!
22 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As you can tell by my rating, I really enjoyed this episode from Season 5. Lots of laughs in the show.

Trying not to spoil too much but the vacation resort, Raoul's by the Bay in Neir, Mexico has some issues.....to put it mildly. (Legless beds, a missing wall, an overweight roommate who claims the bathroom, etc...)

Nice to see Lenny & Squiggy help with the girls suitcases. Sadly for the girls, this will add to the chaos that is to come.

When a tropical storm blows through, the comedic chaos ramps up. The physical comedy was excellent, as you would expect from Cindy & Penny.

Got to love the goat that wanders into the room.

Season 5 was full of great episodes.

Herb Powell is back!
17 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"Broke again, eh Herb? Just like in real life. I guess you're just not much of a businessman", Homer tells Herb after he goes bust in a game of Monopoly. (Ouch)!

Herb is living on the streets because due to the failure Powell motors. (Homer's car design bankrupted Powell Motors). Funny bit that another person living on the streets is the inventor of "New Coke".

Herb notices a woman struggling to understand her baby. A light bulb goes off in Herb's head and has the idea people could use a 'baby translator'. Only thing is Herb is broke and needs capital for his idea. Now how to raise the capital?

Herb picks up a newspaper and notices Homer came into some money winning the (fake) 'Burns Award'.

Herb decides to pay The Simpson's a visit and convince Homer his idea is a winner and try to make his fortune back.

I won't spoil anymore......but it's a solid episode from beginning to end. Another excellent episode with Danny DeVito. Highly recommended.

A Great Start..
25 January 2022
An excellent opening episode for what turned out to be an excellent series that went 7 seasons. Strong lead actors and a great supporting cast made this show a winner.

No spoilers for this episode but I'll bet after watching this one, you'll be back to watch more.

Recommended.

My Favorite Post Shirley Episode
22 June 2021
Some real good laughs in this show. Nice job my Michael McKean directing this one. Kudos to Carrie Fisher on a nice job as a foil for Laverne.

Nice to see the Cameo with Hugh Hefner.

IMHO the funniest episode after Cindy Williams was no longer on the show.

Highly recommended.
