Malignant (2021)
Whaaaat.
This film is great. It has masses of over the top gore and blood, and some pretty nifty combat scenes. The story and premise itself is really well thought out, however could have been a bit more. Towards the end, it felt like a B Movie, (which is a winner in any case) some of the script and the strange placement of the music helped this (and also the visuals of Gabriel) Plus there is an awesome distorted version of Pixies' Where Is My Mind that plays throughout. Definitely worth a watch.
Hostage House (2021)
Took my evening hostage.
Definitely a straight to TV film- not all are bad. This one was better than some. However, the acting was a bit rubbish, the female bad guy was just awful. The decisions made throughout the film were stupid, and the reactions were just as bad. Still, I watched to the end.
Caveat (2020)
Goosebumps
Wow. I am a massive massive horror fanatic. Fair enough, I wouldn't say this was 'horror', however it definitely gives that vibe very early on. I am used to all sorts of disgusting and disturbing, unsettling scenes, but this film gave me goosebumps to the point of feeling very unnerved. Everything from the acting, to the atmosphere and surroundings is just incredible. Made me feel uncomfortable yet curious. Brilliant.
Room for Rent (2019)
A creepy stay with Lin Shaye
Mega fan of Lin Shaye, and she doesn't disappoint. At times, there are genuine moments where I felt sorry for her, times where she made me laugh out loud, and times where she put the cringe on to eleven. Ending was predictable, but enjoyable throughout.
Beneath (2013)
Dis fesh is hungrig
Clearly a great b movie. The acting, the script...and teh fesh, make for a great yet awful movie.
None of the characters deserved to live. Couldn't relate to any of them, and they became irritating very quickly. Waste some time and watch teh feshy.
No Such Thing As Monsters (2019)
Weird but that's what I like
Not the best, however well worth a watch. I love the psycho family / kidnap type films, this one could have had a bit more substance. The fact that after 9 months, the main guy still looks ripped, and the car that has been standing still starts...Well.
Give it a go.
