Four More Shots Please! (2019)
COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER.
Completed all the seasons till now.
NEGATIVES IN SHORT
* Story line and characters Indian public can't relate to.
* First world problems are portrayed as Indian problems
* Poor attempt to grab relationship and values on the screen.
* Mess of several emotions ( should have focused on one aspect only, just take a look at whatever is hit nowadays for better understanding)
POSITIVES IN SHORT
* Suitable for time pass, if we don't consider this as a portrayal of Indian society.
Expected maturity, but yet again left disappointed. Had hopes because of Sayani Gupta and her previous works. This is one of those series which had potential to present women issues in front of public, but as anything else from Bollywood, expecting good art is a big NO. How is a common
Indian person supposed to learn anything from this show, when they can't relate with any of this. The whole story line shows life around 4 women from a privileged background and completely western in their lifestyle. Something Indian public can never relate to. (Thanks to all the people who constantly think and cast the view that rich people are most likely to the cause of poor persons problem. This series was a self goal, lol ) For Indian public, they are extremely wealthy and yet not happy only because of poor life choices. This in itself was a big blunder. If the story was around 4 middle class women, then it would have hit the masses.
Relations are just another commodity to be tossed around as per the show, not a single character is even attempting to anchor around a relationship. Just wandering around looking for the next "perfect" one. (Maybe apart from Jeh who tries at least) Cheating is just something which is casually happening throughout the show. Its like something you would expect to happen in a first world place.
Pagglait (2021)
MIXED FEELINGS :(
I got some recommendations to watch Pagglait and mostly, reviews were good but the after watching the movie I am disappointed.
I will try to explain why I have these mixed feelings;
NEGATIVE PART
one of the most disappointing things are the movie doesn't make sense at all... i will try to explain why.
The movie try to show us a family who are going through the pain of losing a beloved member. Sanya Malhotra is portraying the wife of this person. In between all of these the movie try to question many things which are happen in our society some of which DOES MAKE SENSE. BUT the thing is that they miserably fail at so many moments.
For an example, sanyas friend "nazia" is treated as some sort of untouchable or degenerate. She is given a different cup for drinking tea, when she first comes to the house there is this uncle character who also share these kind of emotions when he comes to know her name. But they conveniently go to doctor "ali" for treatments and all and also don't hesitate to have event management services from a person they "hate".
The thing is that the movie is trying to show that this family is has a backward thought and they are hypocrites at the same time but idk in which clown world so they live, if you are hating a section of people then you will obviously try to avoid them at all cost right? No matter at what cost you will do so. The movie lost this balance at some point.
I understand that what was there intention but if you watch the movie really closely you will feel that there is a lack of logic.
Next thing is that all characters are stupid and soul less for some reason, for instance the deceased persons brother has a crush on sanya and rather than feeling sad for the loss of his brother he is irritated of all things he has to do especially rituals and all. Like he doesn't have any sort of feelings for him, idk this doesn't make any sense for me.
POSITIVE
BGMS ARE EXCELLENT!!!
On the positive note the way how sanya goes on pursue her life and how she gives a good message on how to handle things in life, she also handled the fact that her husband was cheating( in a sense ) on her well
CONCLUSION
PERSONALLY, the movie wasn't up to my expectations especially after i saw sanya in ludo.
Lack of logic is the main reason, on a personal note, traditions are meant to be followed it may be logic less, but the thing is that we find balance between traditions and life and live happily. Regardless who you are traditions and culture are one of the things which defines you.
So try to know and follow the good, skip the unnecessary things and be more happy. There is no need of finding bad in every thing for no reason, understanding things are more important not being a revolutionary.
The Tashkent Files (2019)
PHENOMENAL !!!
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO SHASTRI JI READ " YOUR PRIME MINISTER IS DEAD" by ANUJ DHAR.
Tandav (2021)
NOT WORTH THE HYPE :(
Tandav has received more attention than any other show in recent time. It's worth to be noted that in fact the cast has some of the major names of the industry but the story is so weak to support them. Expected more from Saif Ali Khan.
The problem was that show was not able to capture many aspects from the current political scenario, which it does try to show. From a political drama viewers expect to see more things but this has "only" unnecessary drama and it's based on one sided point of view.
Some dialogues and scenes are really disgusting, the makers should have had given a second thought while making certain parts. It feels like certain characters and dialogues were just added to make a "point". There are some dialogues and scenes which really hurt the sentiments of some portion of it's audience.
I would recommend you to watch TUMBAAD or HIGH on MX PLAYER. IF you are interested in watching a good political drama GO and WATCH '' THE TASHKENT FILES" based on a many historically accurate facts, it will give you some insight into the dark and undiscussed side of India.
High (2020)
PHENOMENAL !!!!
This series is so good, it's beyond words. The story is INTENSE, plot is EXCELLENT and acting is MIND BLOWING. The catch is that this is on MX player (:o) , usually MX player recommend some serious garbage shows on the platform but this is so good. Shewta Basu and Akshay Oberoi are PHENOMENAL.
JUST WATCH IT, IT'S WORTH YOUR TIME.
Mafia (2020)
EXCELLENT ONE !
This series will definitely be one of the most interesting one I have watched in a while. The story, cast, camera everything is just so good.
The main thing is that there isn't any unnecessary drama. If you love crazy stories happening with in a group of friends, this is definitely the thing for you.
Only negative would be it seems to be a bit lengthy, but it's not much of an issue.
The key thing is that many actors are not that main stream, so you will definitely get to enjoy something new.
Well the game of MAFIA is waiting for you, enjoy.
Bulbbul (2020)
GREAT MOVIE BUT HAVE A FEW MINOR YET IMPORTANT FLAWS !!!
This movie is overall a good piece of work. If you want to spend some quality time enjoying a movie I will definitely recommend you this one, especially if you are into this genre. Let me sort out the good and bad for you,
NEGATIVES
Only a few negatives to be pointed out,
1. Misrepresentation of the purpose of 'Toe rings' or ' Bichiyan'. I don't know how they came to the conclusion that toe rings are meant to show 'control ' of men over women. Toe rings actually symbolize that a women is married, just like 'Sindoor' does. there used to be a practice that women used to cover their head and hide faces in a way that sindoor wouldn't be visible. in that cases a toe ring helped to identify if a woman was married or not. Also there are some benefits of wearing a toe ring in Ayurveda. there is an article regarding this on times of India. no one should be misinformed, that's why this is important.
2. In some we may feel that the story is being stretched out unnecessarily for no reason, there is some lag within all the scenes.
apart from these points there are no major issues everything else is just really good.
POSITIVES
1. The movie showcases some really good content in terms of overall experience. A positive aspect to be noted.
2. PHENOMENAL CASTING !!! The cast is just brilliant everyone has acted so well.
3. EPIC COSTUME AND SET WORK. The costume selection is really good, they just blend in well with the overall set.
4. EDITING IS JUST WOW! Everyone would fell in love with the pinkish red shade at the nightfall. The one on that poster, just so good.
5. The way the story goes and ends is also good, even though it is predictable after some point. the last few moments were unexpected and bit shocking.
The Girl on the Train (2021)
please don't waste your data and time by watching this
There isn't a single aspect about this movie which you will enjoy, that's how bad things are in this movie. Parineeti's acting is way too fake... it's so fake that I feel she is the number one reason why many people feel this movie is a big fail. the level of overacting is unbelievable.
unnecessary songs and poor casting are major drawbacks.
I have only one request to anyone who is reading this, don't watch it if possible. check internet for some other content and find a better movie and enjoy your spare time, I don't find a reason to
Bombay Begums (2021)
DISAPPOINTING
So let's begin with the positive aspects,
the camera work, acting, a bit for the story and some good messages given are fair enough from my point of view, to deserve some credit. so it do deserves a star for each of those reasons.
the negative aspects would be the poor story, unnecessary drama and some really bad messages throughout all the episodes. the problem is the writer just drags drama into all characters for no reason at all. you may feel that you are not able to connect things happening in the episodes with you or things happening around you.
the show features many women from different walks of life; rich, poor, small town girl in big city, teenage girl and some more stories of women from a few more different aspects.
show disappoints you when you realize that everyone has got enough drama in their life for no reason at all.
apart from the teenager, all characters seem to have lot of trouble with their "sex life". every single one of them is cheating on their partners for stupid reasons.
the most low point is when the character called Fathima, who is not able to conceive even on her final medically possible attempt, goes on to have sex with a CEO of some random company. No women would ever do that in that kind of mental state. usually people will suffer through depression at that time. the show just crossed all the limits there. this is what i meant by dragging unnecessary drama into the show.
also "steamy" scenes have been put in many possible places, i don't understand the necessity of doing so.
you will find how dirty the rest of this goes if you have enough guts to tolerate this.
on a positive note the character of a women, prostitute by profession, tries her level best to get some respect from the society and tries to make the future of her son safe is a really touching story and interesting one.
the metoo part is also fair enough for the message it tries to give.
the controversial scene where the some teenage girl is shown as sending breast
pics could have been avoided.
the way shot and presented it was so.... so... so... wrong. reminds me of the unnecessary sex scenes and drama.
even though many kids do drugs, involve in sex and many other bad things, you just can't show it as so raw. creators should understand that for kids of these days 18 + mark is nothing less than a big joke.
they are more found of ott technology and it's loop holes than many grown adults can even imagine. 18+ mark doesn't make sure that things are under control.
so creators should use some common sense.
no one want's to see a bunch of kids trying these things out of curiosity after watching this.
there are so many creative means to show that these kind of stuff are happening.
use brains and present stuff in a better manner.
nothing more, hope you find it useful and have a happy day.
Drishyam 2 (2021)
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY... JUST BRILLIANT
This movie is just PHENOMENAL. It's a great treat for everyone. I can't find proper words to describe it...
