First Historical show of india made on such big scale.
27 August 2021
Ignore the spam by political people who have trashed it's ratings.

It's a very well made show.

PROs-
  • Set design is just beautiful and gives you the feels of a big budget bhansali film.

  • Sword fights and action is well executed and doesnt look fake like other infian historical show
  • Dino Morea as a shaybani khan is a winner he is just brilliant in the role and Shabana azmi and Rahul dev has done a very good job too.

CONs-
  • The lead Kunal Kapoor and Drashti dhami is not upto the mark and one foreign ladies accent is super annoying and unbearable.

  • Too much melodrama for a show like this is not good.

Radhe Finally has competition. Skip it and watch Shershaah instead.
13 August 2021
Bhuj is a total Disappointment. A Vfx disaster. A crime in filmmaking. Even if i ignore the shoddy vfx and the cringe shayari of it the film is all over the place in the first hour. No character is introduced properly. Viewers don't get time to get familiar with them. Also, the narrative goes back and forth which hampers the impact. Songs are forced unnecessarily, performances by all the lead are average.

Shershaah just released two days back and ajay devgn should take a lesson that such low level vfx are not gonna work in a war film and he should hire professionals to do vfx like red chillies.

Decent war flick with good production value & vfx
13 August 2021
The things i really liked in this movie was it's production value and vfx, it didn't look cheap as usually bollywood's movies vfx looks in most movies.

The battle scenes and gun-fights were executed very well and that gave the feel of war scene.

Cons- Background music not much effective Romance in between spoilt the flow of the movie Sid did well as a loverboy nut lacked intensity at the end in war-scenesz.

A Journey through conversations.
11 April 2021
I cannot stress enough how good the writing is in these before films. It all feel so real and authentic and it's just conversations. I didn't realise how fast these 80 minutes passed away. I could listen to both celine and Jesse talk for hours and not get bored. I think Julie delpie is the soul of the film besides it's writing. You can see it in her laughs and in her eyes that she is a hopeless romantic who is really heartbroken. I think she is just too lively and yet very sad in this film. I loved loved her in this film and i for sure liked this one even more than the first film.

Thoroughly Entertaining satire on detective movies.
8 April 2021
I started this movie bcz i have seen the struggle of Naveen in youtube sketches and videos so i was overjoyed to know he is playing lead role in telugu movies and his Jathi Ratnalu has had a blockbuster run. I can't watch Jathi Ratnalu as its not available in my city so will have to wait for it's prime video premiere but i found Naveen's debut movie Agent sai on Prime and i am pleasantly surprised how good this movie is despite its low budget.

It's a comedy thriller which covers a very important subject that i didn't see it coming. The comedy punches and its humour lands very well in it and its quite thrilling in parts with a solid bgm. That said its not a perfect film as the narrative gets a li'l convoluted at the end and few loopholes are conveniently ignored. But despite that its a thoroughly entertaining satire so those things could be ignored seeing the tone of the film. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend to anyone who loves detective movies.

A Slow Burning Thriller with great BGM
7 April 2021
Joji is the best 2021 Indian film i have watched so far. The script has brilliantly taken certain elements from Shakespeare's Macbeth and used it in rural kerala's setting in it's own unique way. Fahadh proves why he is the talk of the whole country right now by delivering a spectacular performance but it's the background score which made this slow burning thriller so effective. Top tier stuff. That said first hour of it's slightly slow but the music, performances and those beautiful wide angled shots builds the tension very well in it and we as viewer's are aware that something hideous is simmering and it's gonna blow up and it takes it's time in that but when it blows up the last 40 minutes of it are all worth it and makes our skin crawl with uncertainty and tension. It's streaming on Prime video, do check it out.

Ok thriller but narrative all over the place
2 April 2021
A good premise setup very well with a brilliant sound design and score but let down by it's writing. The screenplay and the narrative was all over the place in second half and the climax was also a downer. It would have been better for the mystery if the narrative was set wholly from the girl's perspective but they made it jump from her to soubin. The acting was decent imo nothing spectacular. So it's technically solid but the storytelling is not upto the mark. If you like 90 minutes thrillers and have nothing to watch.. give this one a go at Netflix.

Decent one time watch.
27 March 2021
There was a lot in the film which really worked for me. The whole ensemble cast gave solid performance and all the characters had certain warmth to them. Especially Sheeba chaddha and Ashutosh Rana. Trio of Sanya malhotra, Shruti sharma and sayani gupta does justice to their roles too.

It's a feel good drama about emancipation of a woman who found herself amidst a tragedy but is not affected by it at all and we are left confused why isn't she affected. It touches on too many things for its own good. I liked it but didn't love it maybe bcz the conflict was not well outlined so it left me for wanting more. I thought some subplots could have been done away with as they didn't add much to the main story. Nevertheless it's an interesting watch so go on and check it out on Netflix.

An Epic Movie with tonnes of unnecessary Fanservice
18 March 2021
Zack Snyders JusticeLeague is quite well paced for a 4 hour long film and it is entertaining in a lot of parts. But that still doesn't justify it's length coz last 35 minutes of it are just pure fanservice without any correlation to the story. It should have not been there bcz it made me dislike the movie. If not fot it's last 35 minutes i would have rated it 7.

What i Loved ?? I loved the epicness of it and how snyder gave all the characters their due and fleshed out Cyborg and Flash well by telling their backstory. The Visuals and Fight scenes were top notch and i loved the style and tone of it.

what i disliked?? Some shodyy Vfx, Cyborg's god aweful design, Flash's humour and jokes that didn't land well and looked forced, Wonder woman's terrible dialogue delivery, Introductory scenes of wonderwoman and Aquaman that were not needed at all and unnecessarily added to the movies length.

Perfect Blue Ran so Black Swan can crawl
2 March 2021
The most mature and thrilling anime of all time. The character writing in this one is so brilliant that it will put Black swan writers to shame. A Perfect Psychological Thriller.

A Movie that moves you
26 February 2021
"Your daughter is so lucky. She can express how she feels openly. But look at me. I have to die countless times before I can say how I feel"

This Tamil movie moved me like no other movie has in a long time. It brings out the forefront what we most Indian shrugs under the carpet thinking it's no more practiced or even if it is then limited to just endogamy i.e caste. But if we look outside our urban metro bubble we will find it everywhere. I had the preconcieved notion that it will be a boring preachy movie but the director proved me wrong in the first five minutes of movie. It has some of the best music and strong lyrics I have heard in a long time.. the songs are so effortlessly weaved into it and are not anything like bollywood song breaks.. the imagery shown in these songs are so mesmerizing and adds so much to the story and music+ lyrics is beautifully haunting. I can't get out karuppi out of my mind it was so powerful and set the tone of the film. I couldn't understand the language of the film but it felt so personal and touched my heart. This film is completely worth the hype it has.. I hope more people watch this gem.

A Poorly executed thriller.
26 February 2021
A poorly writter, poorly acted and poorly executed thriller. I have neither watched the book nor the english film but this was predictable from the word go only the last twist of the film was thrilling for me. I think they had a very good concept but they messed it up in execution. The performance of Parineeti Chopra was good in many scenes but in some scenes particularly when she was drunk it was memeworthy.. She overacted so much in those scenes that I couldn't appreciate the scenes where she was decent.. it was so off putting. Kirti kulhari's performance was bland totally.. only Avinesh Tiwary is the one who looked flawless and delivered a good performance. Aditi Rao Hydari oh my good looked drop dead gorgeous in it idk why she doesn't get more roles. If you don't have anything to watch and u want to waste some time then only watch it.

A Thought Provoking satire which is too Real.
22 February 2021
Prateek vats directorial debut Eeb Allay Ooo! has a very interesting and unusual premise which seems very fresh, Unique and is really grounded throughout so much that it doesn't seem actors are acting in it. The main lead and the guy who plays Mahender are just brilliant. Honestly the guy who plays Mahender has given an absolutely terrific performance. Movie is a satire on the current state of India where marginalised class are treated as animals and animals as gods. It's really very thought Provoking and Realistic. If you have spare 90 minutes then do watch it on Netflix.

Drishyam 2 (2021)

Plot twists with decent shock value but not convincing at all
19 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A solid sequel to Drishyam. The story progresses after 6 years of the Incidents that were shown in Drishyam. It start of slow and build up the characters beautifully, we are also introduced to few new characters and then twists and turns starts. The thing I enjoyed in it was the character arc of Georgekutty's daughter, wife and Georgekutty himself. The director builds up tension very well but to only give you unconvincing and convenient plot twists.. many scenes are wasted in it while building up the story.. the one where classmate of georgekutty is trying to get her to confess to the crime has no significance in the later part of the film nor is Sahu's and saritha's living for two years as neighbour of georgekutty convincing.. why did they started living only after 4 years of crime ?? Two policeman doing complete duty only for one murdered doesn't seem convincing to me at all.

Om Shanti Om (2007)

A Parody on Bollywood that is not to be missed.
11 February 2021
This movie is quintessential bollywood or I should say It's a parody, a satire on filmy reality and people working in it and the issues they are facing whether it be nepotism, favouritism, actresses not getting roles after a child, starkids throwing tantrums, biased award shows and many more. It literally mocks everything including it's own creators. it is a spectacle of many events, a total Bollywood masala all crammed into one movie!! The film both pokes fun at itself and celebrates its unique, inimitable style. It offers everything that bollywood is known for in the world.

It is the story of "Om", "Shanti" and bollywood as whole. Om is a junior artist who aspires to be a main lead in a movie someday, he idolises a female star "Shanti" and wants to woo her but tragedy hits and everything gets bonkers. The songs in this are beautiful and fun at the same time. It's a Must watch if you are trynna get into bollywood.

Burning (2018)

Too slow for it to burn you.
2 February 2021
A slow burning thriller and when i say slow, it is really slow. I personally felt the payoff isn't worth the length of time taken to reach it. It's not i didn't enjoy it, i did. The cinematography was gorgeous and bcz the director wanted to give us an immersive experience into the scenes it grew on me. The score and attention to detail is quite meticulous. But that's all about it, i didn't read too much into it and make it out to be a movie about gender inequality, wealth gap, class division, coming-of-age angst. I'm not saying these things are not present in the story, they are, but it's not the driving force of the story. These elements are just sprayed here and there and none of them propped up as the main theme. I judge a movie on how much it hit me when i watched it; Reading analysis of others and watching videos, reading too much into the theme can really influence you, that there is something you missed out. But i honestly feel this movie is not for everyone. It needs an acquired taste for you to enjoy it to maximum.
