The Idol: Pop Tarts & Rat Tales (2023)
An illustration of everything wrong with Hollywood, US and the West
The Idol's first episode is graphic, disgusting, and quite frankly make me feel a bit sick.
Hollywood is now totally dominated by satanism and over-sexualisation.
This episode demonstrates pure deprivation, similar to the fall of Rome.
I was, however, impressed with the sound design. The music did evoke emotions and was posited well. The cinematography was impressive too. Some of the frames were extremely well positioned. HBO have really upped their game in recent years.
The image grain also adds an alternative impact on screen. It provides a retro vibe.
Yet, this show makes me feel like the West is crumbling.
This show just demonstrates that we promote demonic over-sexualisation and women are harmed in the process.
Andor: The Axe Forgets (2022)
Impressed. Great characters. Clever allegory.
This is a really intriguing show.
I love the slow pace, it gives weight to the story.
It's not a rush. It's not full of messy CGI and galactic level threats. The multiple streams of storylines work together well and will intersect well further along the storyline.
The tension from a single tie fighter was so well done. Each character feels unique and not shoehorned into the story.
The cinematography is beautiful. The score is fantastic - NB has done extremely well. It feels and sounds almost analogue. The music is crafted to the story unlike Holt's Kenobi score which was a total disgrace and utterly dreadful.
Really enjoying this show so far.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part I (2022)
Disappointing. Underwhelming. Boring!
The first 15 minutes of this episode was GOOD. Prequels recap was emotional and seeing order 66 again inside the temple nearly brought a tear to my eye. Furthermore the Inquistor's landing felt menacing, and the Grand Inquisitor's interrogation scene was thrilling like Hans Landa's in Inglorius's open scene. It was all going well until random, angry, unexplainable Reva starts wanting to chop people up for no reason? She's a Sith, not a bandit. Sith are calculated, ruthless, evil. She is just an angry woman. The dialogue just goes from bad to worse. Ten year old Leia outchases adult bounty hunters and makes one of them walk into a tree branch. That was genuinely painful to watch. Leia and Bail's dialogue is BORING. I zoned out. So many plot holes - how does Reva know anything about Obi Wan? How did the Jedi die in Anchorhead - what was the point of that whole scene when it had no emotional impact? Unfortunately this episode was an utter disappointment. As a lover of ROTS and clone wars, I just want to see GOOD emotional Star Wars. This was a boring, bland, feminist doctor who soap. It was BAD or even worse than Boba Fett which is levels below the quality of Clone Wars and The Mandalorian. We were so blessed with the Mandalorian, yes it may have not been perfect, but wow didn't it deliver - even its first episode !!!
Moon Knight: The Friendly Type (2022)
Overrated. Messy. Poor pacing. Isaac's talented acting skills are struggling to save this further marvel calamity.
As an unbiased, non-DC/Marvel Stan, I began watching Moon Knight with zero expectations yet I was intrigued and pulled in my the promotional content.
After three episodes, this is just a typical Disney+ Marvel show. CGI is messy. The pacing is way off. Too much talking and disposition between characters. It's incoherent, and quite frankly, it's rather boring.
This is a bit of a disappointment. Marvel is becoming a huge L. Sadly. Another franchise down the toilet.
Ratio me, but you know it's true.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
4/10 but an extra star for baby yoda tapping the window
Rodriguez. Cant. Direct. Star Wars.
This episode was a mastery in TELLING not SHOWING . The tension was obliterated by the DIALOGUE, which constantly revealed to the audience what the characters were about to do - a red flag.
It felt too GENERIC. In episode 6, the Star Wars feelings were overwhelming , but this didn't feel like Star Wars. It felt like a random battle in a beige city that went on for too long.
Nice to see Boba finally shoot his weapon but why did we have to wait 7 episodes for that in his own show?
Poor. Again, RR, step aside . Let Dave , Bryce , Jon & others take the helm.
We need a CORE team of directors now. It's been 3 series of Star Wars.
I'd suggest getting RICK FAMUYIWA back . He knew how to direct in Mando.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (2022)
Peak Star Wars - my dreams come true.
This is EVERYTHING the sequels SHOULD have been - respectful to George's legacy, inclusion of prequels and clone wars characters, beautiful music, no re-hashing of ideas.
I cried. I smiled. I feel relieved.
In Dave we trust, himself, Jon, and the crew, have rejuvenated Star Wars and united the fandom. Thank you.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa (2022)
Rodrigues OUT, Sequel-esque Disney Star Wars
I'm genuinely a bit depressed after watching Episode 3. Rodrigues just destroyed the beautiful world building of Steph Greens fabulous episode 2. The tuskens were just cast aside and replaced with power rangers. WHO THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA? They look so out of place. How did Black Krrsantan get defeated by a bunch of teenagers yet he is a feared and ruthless bounty hunter who is working for THE HUTTS???!!!!! Wtf. The story has no RESPECT. Jon should know better. Embarrasing . Get Steph Green back & Rodrigues AWAY from our franchise he is worse than Rian - so selfish - he's trying to turn Star Wars into spy kids .
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 2: The Tribes of Tatooine (2022)
Steph Green blows Rodriguez out of the park. It's time to go!
I disliked episode 1 because of its directing! For me, Robert Rodriguez is not suited to Star Wars. He brings no emotion, cinematic metaphors, or build up to his episodes in TBOBF or TM so far. BUT, Steph Green SMASHED episode 2 . Wow, I enjoyed it a lot! Well, the train heist was intense and had call backs to General Grevious's starship crashing on Coruscant mixed with the Solo train heist too (we all know why, if you have read leaks and heard the end of the Boba soundtrack ;) ) . The flashbacks to Kamino , the sense of loneliness of young boba and the coming of age with the Tuskens after a near death experience was fantastic - it reminded me of Din crafting his armour with the Armourer in Season 1 of TM. Loved seeing the Pykes again too... 10/10 for me. So Star Wars , great emotion, good story, great soundtrack, much much better . Get Rodriguez out ! Please, there was not even any dialogue in episode 1 !
Free Guy (2021)
PG Deadpool comedy
Absolutely loved it, you just can't go wrong with Ryan Reynolds, his jokes are hilarious. The story is emotional and hit me hard at the end. Lots of great themes. AMAZING CAMEOS AT THE END, *cough* one scene was better than an entire trilogy of films ;)
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Return to Kamino (2021)
Great episode
Great music , fabulous storyline - so much better than CID and the boring side adventures .
Loki: For All Time. Always. (2021)
Awful finale
Sitting and talking were the ONLY characteristics of this finale! Compare this to Episode 16 of the Mandalorian. Honestly, Wandavision had a better finale - and that was still a shambles. I was so bored, checked my phone multiple times! Hollywood writers are just so poor these days.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Reunion (2021)
He's back! After 9 years. Beautiful
That beautiful character!!!! I was freaked out about him as a kid watching clone wars, and now he's back! Bring it on. The bad batch started slow but now with the Bracca Arc, I'm loving it! Let's go!
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Battle Scars (2021)
Finally, the plot is thickening
This was by far the best episode since the Premiere, aside from Crosshair vs Rebels. Dark Star Wars is the best Star Wars. Hopefully no more filler now.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Cut and Run (2021)
A huge shift from the dark thematic tones of order 66
The Bad Batch haven't even questioned what Order 66 is and what the implications are. They are now murderously killing their brother clones. Rex and Ahsoka literally made sure to not kill them in season 7 of TCW. It makes a mockery of the final scene when they buried Jesse. This feels like a writing error. Also, the animation style of episode 2 felt like Star Wars Rebels. We are watching The Bad Batch; not Star Wars: Omega!
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Aftermath (2021)
Fantastic debut, pilot episode.
I grew up watching the Clone Wars and it was an integral part of my childhood. Thank you Dave Filoni for continuing the story, through the means of the Bad Batch and Omega. Episode One was a masterpiece. The cinematography was gorgeous - especially the Hunter vs Crosshair hanger stand off, Caleb's jump scene, and Order 66. I was worried that Omega was included in the story to tick Disney boxes, however, she is so interesting and I genuinely feel sorry for her for not fitting in with the Regs. That's good writing for you , so immersive! The story was well worked and intriguing. I can't wait for episode 2 on Friday! Nothing beats sitting down with Dad to watch Star Wars, just like I did as a 6 year old when the Clone Wars was released every Sunday Morning on Cartoon Network.
Summary: Watch it two times! Amazing. Brings back the old times.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021)

Shadow and Bone (2021)
Half the plot is intriguing, the other half is BORING!
The plot following "The Fold", Alina and the General - portrayed by two fantastic actors: Ben Barnes and Jessie Mei Li - is far superior to the criminal sub plot. I just couldn't get through the subplot. The casting is ALL wrong. The script is painful. Freddy Carter doesn't fit the role and provides a poor performance - out of place, out of character, un-intriguing.
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
Disappointing, stale ending.
This show had so much potential. Marvel bottled the ending. I found myself looking at the time during the episode as I was bored. The fight scenes seemed pointless. "The Vision" just disappeared after a discussion. Very strange writing.
WandaVision (2021)
Boring, underwhelming & stale ending
It's clear that the whole point of the show was character development for Wanda, showing her transformation into the Scarlett Witch. That's it. Everything else was pointless. This show had a lot of potential and it's just not rewatchable, unlike the Mandalorian. Great performances from Paul and Elizabeth nevertheless, but overall, Wandavision was an underwhelming series. I think "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" will be much better than this.
IMDb on the Scene - Interviews: WandaVision (2021)
Dialogue needs improving & Easter eggs are a little boring
If you could sum up WandaVision in one word, it would be: mediocre. The dialogue in the fourth episode was almost painful to watch! The characters were speaking over the top of each other. It felt like they were reading a script. There are, however, some special moments - such as when the theme of the episodes turns dark. Nevertheless, it doesn't reach the levels that the Mandalorian, even in series 1, achieved.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
A Taika Masterpiece
Jojo Rabbit is a wonderful cinematic masterclass. The plot, and acting, is comedic yet emotionally hard hitting and historically accurate coupled with a twinge of comedic relief. This is a film not to miss out on. I look forward to Taika's new Star Wars film, he is a classy, modern director - a breath of fresh air!
The Mandalorian: Chapter 11: The Heiress (2020)
Bo-Katan in live action. Absolutely love it!
What a fabulous episode. Katie Sackhoff, the voice actor of Bo-Katan from Star Wars Clone Wars & SW Rebels, brought her character to life in live action. The music score was incredible. The juxtaposition of battle hardened Mandalorian warriors fighting alongside Din made him seem like a rookie - or a shiny, as they would say on the Rishi Moon!
The Mandalorian: Chapter 14: The Tragedy (2020)
Boba is BACK!
Boba Fett, the infamous Bounty Hunter, is back in style! A different directing style was deployed by Robert Rodriguez, which was evident throughout the episode, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi (2020)
Watching "The Jedi" (no spoilers ;) ) in live action was a dream come true
I remember first watching the animated young Jedi padawan, Ahsoka Tano, as a child - at age six - in 2008. Twelve years later, as an adult, seeing Ahsoka in live action was so special. Rosario Dawson was perfectly cast & transformed her animated character into a real life force user - I won't call her a "Jedi" for the obvious reasons.... Thank you Dave & Jon for directing this episode so perfectly. It was almost poetic, and the accompanying music score was superb - especially Ahsoka's theme at the end!
The Mandalorian: Chapter 15: The Believer (2020)
Bill Burr superb emotional performance
Directed by tremendously talented Rick Famuyiwa, "The Believer" was an action packed episode filled with connotations of "behind enemy lines" war films - such as Inglorious Basterds and The Great Escape. Bill Burr, the star of the episode, personified his character of Mayfeld, with a truly emotional performance, including the effects of PTSD. 10/10!
