Hilarious This movie is staged like a serious film, but it is hard to decide which is more amateur, between the beginner High School level acting the inane plot, the bad amateur writing, or just the overall amateur production and direction. I watched all 2 hours of this fake movie wondering when it would develop into something legitimate. Spoiler alert, it never does. This movie if it was a serious attempt at a film, is a complete failure. But it may have a second life as a comedy or a counter example of film making. This is not the worst movie I have ever seen, but it is among the worst five or so.

Distracted from a relatively good plot.

This film is a high quality production. From the musical score, cinematography to the top notch acting. The plot is coherent and we'll developed. But the film suffers from the annoying distraction of the overdone efforts to make Kidman look old, ugly and pathetic. And the distraction of making that the centerpiece of the film is a fatal mistake. It is an extraneous and unnecessary side bar that ends up Destroying the film.

Almost a good movie

The movie has some interesting plot concepts, but the actual content is just boring and slow. Several folks really liked it and say they don't understand why the bad reviews, well part of my complaints over the slow and boring plot as how the main couple are just constantly arguing and fighting over mundane and unimportant elements given the fact that the world is ending it just seems extremely unlikely. I would not have wanted to have paid to see this movie.
