Beat Bobby Flay (2013– )
9/10
A Very Entertaining Competitive Cooking Show
13 April 2021
For some reason watching people cook fancy food is always really satisfying, and in this show, it's made even better by the fact that the people cooking are competing against each other. What happens in this show is chef Bobby Flay, along with his two guest-hosts, will bring two chefs into the kitchen, and Bobby Flay will choose either a specific dish for them to make, or a random ingredient that must be the main ingredient in their dish. They have 20 minutes to make their dish, then the two guest hosts eat and critique their dishes. Whoever made the best dish gets to continue to compete against Bobby Flay himself, this time with a dish of their own choosing. They have 45 minutes to do so, and then they bring in 3 food judges, who eat the dishes without knowing which one is which, and then they all vote for one. Whoever gets the popular vote wins. It's always amusing to watch the chefs and speculate who will win. It's also incredibly satisfying to see the person who's competing against Bobby Flay actually beat him, as Bobby Flay is surprisingly and impressively knowledgeable on pretty much every dish in existence. One thing I don't like about this show is the fact that the guest hosts have such empathy for the chef competing against Bobby Flay, that they'll go up to Bobby Flay and screw with him by doing things like knocking his tools off his table, or dancing around him in a really dumb dance to distract him. I just wish they would let a competition be a competition, even though Bobby Flay is an expert in practically every dish in the world. Another thing is the winner always makes a terrible pun about their dish at the very end of the episode. Other than that, it's an entertaining show that has a lot to offer, after all, there is 27 seasons as of April, 2021.

It's A One-Watch Film
13 April 2021
I feel like the stories devolve as the film goes on. I can see why some women would be scared by the first story, as it is something that happens to them in real life, and I liked the sudden revenge-twist. I feel that the second story is boring, as it isn't until the very end of the story that it actually really takes off. I'm all for build up, but not when it makes up almost an entire segment. The atmosphere was ominous, but it was all in all the slowest segment in the film. Like the first one though, it has a good twist ending. The third story was a mess. It started with a very stretched out phone call sequence, and then after that it seemed to get right into the chaos, and not exactly in a good way. Most of the segment is made up of screaming, which gets pretty annoying, even in good films. It's completely all over the place, whereas the first two seem neatly organized in execution, this one is a catastrophe. The third story, like the first two, also has a twist ending. Unlike the twists in the first two segments, which were clever and seemingly thought out, the twist in the third story is a terrible and lazy twist, and made no sense whatsoever. In summary, the first story was good, the second story was boring, and the third story was terrible, with extremely sloppy and lazy execution.

Yeesh!

I can tell there was effort put into the effects. I also liked the deaths and overall style of the film. However, without spoiling anything, I will say this; the killer's premise is DUMB. I just feel like it could have been so much simpler. The acting is mediocre, and once again, without spoiling anything, this movie literally just ends abruptly. Let's just say, something intense is happening, and then it just cuts to the credits. It doesn't even fade into the credits or anything, it just cuts to them with no real transition.

What's up with the mediocre reviews?!
27 November 2020
I know this movie got mediocre reviews, but personally, I really enjoyed it. I know I'll be hated for saying this, but I enjoyed it just as much as the original. I usually tend to criticize the modernization of the horror genre, but I thought the opposite with this one. I thought Chucky being an animatronic who could connect to devices like lights, security cameras, temperature systems, drones, and even cars was a great addition and made for some great deaths. I know it's a controversial opinion, but I do, in fact, recommend this movie.

Sure, it's controversial, but don't be so offended
24 November 2020
I'm just gonna say it. This movie was great. Great visuals, great cinematography, great deaths. A lot of people were incredibly offended by this controversial horror film though. Middle aged adults who grew up with original Banana Splits show, teenagers who grew up with the reboot, and of coarse, the FNAF snowflakes, were all very offended. Don't listen to them though, because this is a great movie. The death scenes are clever and creative, and the film, although dark and incredibly violent, is even comical at times. I definitely had high hopes for it before it came out, but at times, even I was a little worried it wouldn't live up to what I hoped. But boy did it live up to the hype. If you haven't watched this awesome bloodbath yet, watch it. Even if you're a bit unsure about it, I suggest you give this gruesome mess of fun a chance.

Edit: Another great thing about this film I feel I should mention, is the fact that it's great at making you hate the characters who die. They're not exaggeratedly awful people, nor are they not bad enough, they're perfectly at the point where you feel that they deserve their fate.

A great film, and a true horror classic
24 November 2020
Okay, I know, the plot is a bit cliché. A killer possessing a doll might not seem extremely well thought out to most people. But, they really made it work with this one. A lot of intensity ensues, as Chucky claims the lives of more victims, each time framing Andy. And the intense climax, the final showdown is very suspenseful, as is the rest of the film. To any horror fans who haven't seen Child's Play, I highly recommend it.

Nothing too special
24 November 2020
It's a good story, and overall a good film. There's just no action or intensity in it, nothing that pops out. It's just a good story. If you want a break from a lot of action and craziness in movies, this one's a nice film to watch.

Definitely doesn't live up to the first one
24 November 2020
This film was okay. Mediocre cinematography, mediocre acting, and some pretty terrible edits. The traps in this film are definitely better than the traps in the first film though. However, I just really didn't like the ending. It just didn't make sense to me. Overall, it was a mediocre film.

A total cop-out!
7 November 2020
To me, it seems like they were just avoiding putting any real work into this film, just like all psychological horror films. Bad acting, slow pacing, dragged on, I could go on for hours about why this movie sucks. First of all, the cinematography is adequate, however, there are some really pointless edits that come out of nowhere. There's barely any real scares, only excepting the scene with the gross old lady, it's all just build up. What's the point of psychological horror anyways?! Some would argue it's build up, but they just build up to nothing. This film, like most psychological horror films, completely misses it's own point. Not to mention, it's Jack Nicholson's worst performance. This film, if you could even call it that, was difficult to sit through, and I mean VERY difficult to sit through. It's around 2 and a half hours, but it feels like 7 hours. Good lord does This movie drag on. I highly recommend to all you fellow movie goers, particularly horror fans, do not watch this poor excuse of a film from the film's industries biggest jerk, Stanley Kubrick.
