Boring
19 February 2023
While I appreciate the idea behind it, and find some of the animation agreeable, I simply have to say that I disliked this movie. There's hardly any plot, it is not funny (not for the lack of trying), and apart from the first two animation shorts, it's very boring and non-engaging. And the animation itself is... well, ugly. Some of the segments are technically impressive, but overall it looks either esthetically unpleasing or cheap. The characters are OK, overly cartoonish, but in accord with the overall tone of the movie. "Allegro non troppo" is a well intended piece of oddity that may be interesting to art students, although I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Hellraiser (2022)
8/10
A modern reimagining worthy of the original
8 October 2022
Easily the best Hellraiser movie after the original two. It follows the mythos and even expands on it in an interesting way. It's everything a Hellraiser movie needs to be, it's creepy, imaginative and gruesome, and also very well executed, with superb writing, acting, directing and special effects. It even got high praises from Clive Barker himself!

The new Pinhead, while no Doug Bradley, is pretty good and effective. I've heard some complaints about the character being gender-swapped, but as Pinhead is virtually sexless, it doesn't even matter.

I also found it interesting that the movie was filmed in Belgrade, where I've lived for a good chunk of my life and could recognize many locations.

All in all this is a great movie, a real treat for real horror fans!

Criminally underrated

An honest-to-God funny comedy, with interesting characters, several intertwining zany engaging stories, great production, great sound score and even better cast, what else is there to wish for?! It even has a meaningful message! Pop this one in and get ready to cry out laughing!

Terrible
7 November 2020
The central idea is not that bad, but the script and the direction sure are. Clichees, clichees, bad dialogs, and jumpscares. I managed to watch it up til halfpoint and that's when my patience ran out.

Intriguing and discomforting
9 April 2020
One of the best SF movies of recent date. Original, quirky, disturbing (especially in light of current events), aesthetically competently realized (I can't say it's beautiful), with even a little depth. Some of the elements are predictable and clumsily hinted , but I did get honestly creeped and weirded out by a couple of scenes.

Sappy shlock
2 October 2019
Sappy shlock in the manner of the worst pulp love dime novels. Cringy dialogues and characters that are very difficult to listen to, let alone love. Skip this one. Spain has much better movies to offer.

Bad
6 December 2017
Underdeveloped plot that doesn't really go anywhere.

Villain with vague motivations.

Some of the worst CGI flames I've seen in any movie.

Weak ending.

The only good thing in this movie are the actors and the soundtrack, the rest is pure garbage.

Mindhunter (2017–2019)

Terribly overrated
23 October 2017
How such a mediocre show got the same score as Breaking Bad, The Wire and Sopranos is beyond me. I forced myself to watch this up to episode 7 to see what all the hype was about. What I realized is that either people give this show high scores because Fincher signed it (although he hardly even worked on it) or most of these reviews are fake/payed, because this show is average at best. Bad writing, clumsy directing, some terrible acting (and some great, gotta give credit where it's due), boring, dull, dumb. If it wasn't for some good camera work and performances by a couple of actors, it would be unwatchable.

The Corridor (I) (2010)

Too smart for it's own good
16 October 2013
First of all, "The Corridor" is a fantastic movie. It intertwines a Lovecraftian horror, a fear of an unfathomable alien entity and an analysis of the psyche of a common man, which actually scares the fore-mentioned even more.

Let's face it, the typical horror-viewing public is a bunch of numbskulls and teenagers who just want to be entertained with some blood-spurting, well-known monster clichés and an occasional boob flash. Take that away from them and they're lost. "THIS ISN'T THAT ONE THING I KNOW! IT'S SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND I HATE IT!" is a common reaction, and ironically it demonstrates xenophobia pretty well. The part about 5 childhood friends who have grown up into fully grown individuals and realized not only that they have little in common, but that most of them are losers and assholes makes people uneasy even more.

The whole film makes the common man uneasy and an inquisitive man excited, and I loved it for that.

It deserves a 7 because of it's obviously very limited budget but I gave it an encouraging 8.
