Pepsi, Where's My Jet? (2022)
I really feel for David
Here we have a David v Goliath story, and I feel so strongly that David should win.
A contract was offered, one party met the conditions of that contract and the other tried to hide behind legalese to avoid fulfilling the contract.
I guess it shows what happens when someone is willing to persue the detail.
It also explains that when I was in the Philippines, Coke was the only carbonated drink that was available in the area I was working in.
Pepsi was nowhere to be found. And that makes me happy. If you offer a contract and then get upset when it is fulfilled, you lose your right to an opinion.
Ten Dollar Death Trip (2020)
It is too easy to judge
I saw this, and my heart went out to everyone on the show. Drug addiction really is an illness and can be triggered by accident.
For many years I smoked marijuana, then I found out there were legal highs! Stronger (so I needed less) and legal (so I avoided criminals). No one told me that it was more addictive than crack cocaine.
I am clear of all of that (apart from an alcohol issue I am dealing with), I do not even smoke cigarettes any more..
But this shows that good people can make bad choices. They should be helped, not vilified.
It is a documentary that should be seen by everyone.
For very good apparent reasons, people can make stupid mistakes. My mistake was a way of saving money, and avoiding criminals.
The physical and mental damage was horrific. Other than a serious application of willpower, and use of nicotine replacement, and (to be honest) alcohol, I would be dead.
I am still using nicotine replacements. I am still drinking. But I managed to get off legal highs, before they were illegal.
And the question is.... Am I some kind of street thug and general toerag? No, I am a professional and a lecturer at a couple of universities.... I have was lucky that I never touched opiates.
So watch this, realise they the people shown in this documentary could be your mother, father, teacher, brother, sister or that nice chap at the end of the street who always says hello. Addiction was never their idea of a future.
Stan Against Evil (2016)
This is an awesome little series
It is a crime agaimst humanity that this series only lasted for 3 seasons.
The comedy is sometime overt, sometimes covert, but always cutting edge.
It is a true comedy horror series, but with thought provoking seriousness mixed in with the comedy. There are so many links to other shows that it would be hard to mention without being a spoiler, however, the episode 'hex files' made me laugh until i was almost sick!
The comedy starts with the opening credits and does not stop until the end credits. But there is a suitable amount of gore for for anyone who is a horror fan.
There are historical references, cetain parallels with the whole Salem tragedy, and it is a definite must watch series.
The humour ranges from highly sophisticated, to proper belly laugh, high school humour.
The acting is brilliant, ranging from edge of seat, to real B-Movie, where it is appropriate and warranted.
A credit to Dana Gould for the writing (and acting) and to all of the cast. I really want to see season 4...... if only that could happen
