Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)

Best for kids below age 3

The movie doesn't have a proper story to tell. VFX are below par. Everywhere you can see only lights.

There are many scenes that don't make sense like an Astra getting defeated by bullets, the protagonist searching using GPS so easily but antagonist can't do the same.

All big stars like SRK, AB and Nagarjuna are wasted in tiny and illogical roles.

There are hints of characters to be played by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in part 2 of this movie. It seems that they will play as parents to Ranbir Kapoor.

Climax too, disappoints. Dialogues are cringeworthy. Acting is average. Direction is below par. Editing is worse as the movie feels too long.

So, this movie is not worth watching in theatres or ott. It can be shown to kids below age 3 as they will enjoy this kidding.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)

Bad remake of

The movie is a copy of Alone (2015) movie starring bipasha basu.

In the movie: Manjulika is a ghost and anjulika is human who wants to save every family member

In climax; The ghost is anjulika and the human is manjulika. The ghost wants to save family members and the human wants to kill everyone.

Overall, a bad movie.

Aandhiyan (1990)

Poor story, Poor Script, Too slow, Too boring, Too long

This movie has very thin story line. The movie is about a guy who tries to bring together his separated parents.

I watched this movie as a shorty (30 min shemaroo movie) but still couldn't miss the story. The movie has no comedy, thrill or romance. The script is too slow that I kept looking at watch every 10 mins. Even the climax is too dragged. When the movie got over (after 30mins), it felt like 1.5 hrs.

The acting from everyone is good but due to slow place, you don't care about it.

Overall, you can watch only if you are a die hard fan of the lead actors else avoid this movie at all cost.

Melody (1997)

A propganda movie..not worth your time

The concept and story of the movie seem to be based on the bonding between real life singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

However, it seems to be from Asha Bhosle's point of view.

In real life too, many times Asha bhosle as passed unpleasant remarks towards Lata Mangeshkar in public. She was also one of the most opportunist singers of her time. The way she used R. D Burman for her career is not hidden from anyone.

In this film, if we imagine the character of Bansi to be based on Asha Bhosle, the character is shown to be a victim where her sister does bad to her out of jealousy. Like her marriage to a bad man. But in reality, Asha was in love and had ran away with the assistant of Lata Mangeshkar. It was her own choice. Lata Mangeshkar was angry with her because she expected her to share the financial responsibility of the family members. They didn't speak for long because Asha Bhosle never took any responsibilities. She just wanted all goodies and wanted in an easy way.

I can go on writing about it but feel that it is not worth to give attention to an opportunist, greedy lady whom we can call a pros**tute for the way she used (give and take) people to defeat her sister's career.

Overall you can watch this movie as a generic family drama but if you start matching with the real life singers, it seems to be mere a propganda film.

2001: Do Hazaar Ek (1998)

Very predictable

This movie starts off very nicely. It generates many expectations. But when the murders start happening, you expect it to take the graph high but you will be disappointed. After every murder, the clue is shown openly. You can guess the killer very easily. There is no shock value when the murderer is revealed as sufficient hints were given earlier to guess it.

The real suspense you can find is in the name 2001. What does it actually indicate? This mystery is explained as the reason behind all murders.

You can watch as last resort if you don't have anything better to do. Else you can avoid it.

Gawaahi (1989)

Boring.....Not worth your time

This movie is a court room drama with a nice twist in the middle but very boring screenplay and equally boring climax.

Story: A business man(shekhar Kapoor) falls off a building and his mistress is arrested for his murder.

The court room drama in the first half is to prove whether it was a suicide or murder. The screenplay is too slow and you will keep looking at your watch.

Then comes a twist and plot shifts to a whodunit murder mystery. You expect the movie to bring some surprises but nothing as such happens. Even the culprit is revealed in the last 5 mins and it is not at all shocking. The culprit is not revealed by any investigator but the person confesses automatically. It doesn't have any surprise or shock value.

None of the actors looked interested. Songs are boring. I watched this movie after recommendation from a youtuber sahil Chandel (Palat tera dhyan kidhar hai).

The way I have narrated the story, you may get tempted to watch but the movie is really boring and slow.

Please avoid it at all the cost.

F2: Fun and Frustration (2019)

Feminist movie with wrong message to wives

The movie shows wife manipulating her husband, her sister and family also tortures the husband and to be husband. When those husbands couldn't tolerate, they ran away. But the director wanted to #respectwomen and no matter what crime they commit, men should always lick their feet. So he makes these husbands forget all wrong doings, reconcile with them and never complaint about wrong doings of wives.

The movie has funny scenes in the first half but the 2nd half and climax doesn't make sense. No sane man would want to stay with females shown in the movie. But our heroes beg sorry. It really generates frustration in the mind.

For once, we crib about gender equality and then we are shown to give more rights to females. Every rule and law in the world is made for men only. Very absurd and frustrating movie for every gender neutral person.

Giving 3 stars for comedy by Venky in the first half.

My suggestion is to skip the movie or watch only first half.

Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020)

Interesting thriller

This movie starts with a song and actually nothing happens for the first 10 mins. But after that it ha some good twists. Every twist and action is very well explained. There is a twist just before the interval and it's the highest point of the movie. It gives you tremendous shock. You may start guessing it from beginning but the way it is presented, it shocks you.

Then there are few more twists and you will like them all. The last twist that involves the investigating officer, makes you laugh.

Overall it is a very interesting thriller. The twists are believable and can be fully understood by computer and internet experts. For others, everything is explained in detail so no one will miss out anything.

Just go for it.

Pehla Nasha (1993)

An average suspense thriller

The movie is suspense thriller and it had a shock value at the time of its release. However, the culprit can be guessed easily if someone can read lip movements which is no that hard here. I wish the director had taken some other camera angle. But if someone can't read that then this movie is interesting. But then don't have too much expectations. The film belongs to 90s era and the suspense is also for that era audience.

One dragging point is that hero is sacred of dark so you can't expect him to investigate the mystery. He could have been shown as a complete actor but due to poor characterization, he looks only a chocolate boy. Songs are good.

It is a one time watch if you don't have anything else to do.

Dabangg 2 (2012)

Two good scene in a nonsense movie

This movie seems to be made from edited scenes of dabangg 1. But then superhero movies also never had any different story. For example, spiderman series. Only villians change in those parts but story wasn't there. Dabangg series is also story of a supercop, villians change and hero fights them.

These movie is very similar to dabangg 1 if you don't expect story for the above mentioned reason. Music is also similar and same can be said for comedy.

However, I liked two scenes from the movie 1. When Genda is killed. You just can't guess it to happen in that way. Deepak Dobriyal's acting is amazing and so is the action, direction and salman's performance 2. Salman's expressions in the entire scene of "kaise bani song", especially when he teases prakash raj.

Salman is suitable in dabangg roles. He was very good in dabangg 1 and here also he is very good. (He was very bad in dabangg 3 though. May be salman himself directed the movie). I think he is like this in real life too so he seems comfortable in dabangg role.

This movie can be watched as a sequel to first and without keeping any expectation from the story as most of the super hero movies don't have it.

Aa Dekhen Zara (2009)

Interesting main twist

Plot: A man gets a camera that can take future(24 hrs at the same time of the next day) picture of a particular place . He uses the opportunity to make money. He goes and take picture of lottery results and buys the same lottery. The. He goes to race course, takes the picture of result as to which horse will win the next day. He bets on the same hours and wins the money.

Twist : He clicks his own picture and the photo comes as blank. A blank photo means the person will die before that time so the camera couldn't see the future picture. Now our hero has 24 hrs to find out who will kill him and try to change the destiny. Hence the name "Aa dekhe zara". The suspense is revealed at the end and has a good dialogue

The basic plot is interesting, the movie is fast paced. It has some illogical sequence but one should expect in sci-fi movies.

Performances are average but the main plot is interesting. The movie can be watched at least once.

It is not a great movie but not bad for sure. It is far better than 3x10 tasveer and Kurbaan.

Pogaru (2021)

Mass entertainer

This movie doesn't have any new story to tell. But it has all the required masala to keep your interest alive. This movie gives the feeling of watching an upendra movie. The dialogues have very deep meaning. They are true to life.

Many people find this movie anti feminist and that is because it has dialogues reflecting the reality of females. I feel there is no need to get offended when we appreciate Hindi serials like The Kapil Sharma show, FIR, hindi movies like Veer di wedding and Telugu movies like F2 (in the name of women empowerment). This movie shows the protaganist as a no-nonsense guy who can beat criminals irrespective of their gender.

Performance wise Dhruva Sarja is very good. He is in almost every frame. Dialogues suite the character and he has delivered them with perfection. Other characters don't leave much mark.

So if you like masala movies, you treat men and women equal and you will not be bothered by not so great story, this movie is for you.

One more thing, the movie definitely mocks sadhus but doesn't praise other minority religion unlike other bollywood movies. If a Hindu is mocking his religion and showing the truth, it can't be called as anti-Hindu movie.

Giving 1 extra star for dialogues.

Villu (2009)

Pathetic remake of a Hindi movie

This movie is a remake of Hindi movie Soldier(1998) starring Bobby Deol. The hindi version became blockbuster and made Bobby Deol a star. But this movie is very boring and pathetic. Reasons?

Soldier movie had an amazing screenplay with so many twists and turns. The story is a revenge drama what we have seen unlimited number of times but the screenplay keeps you engaged till the very end. It is in the pre climax, we come to the entire story and the motive of the hero. Till this point the movie has many surprises (unpredictable during 1998).

But Villu movie doesn't have any such things. It is a straight revenge drama where we know everything I'm advance. Even the action scenes in soldier were new and thrilling but Villu has very normal ones (like movies in 70s or 80s).

So if you want to get entertained, watch soldier instead of this movie. You will understand how big opportunity is missed out.

Gumnaam: The Mystery (2008)

There is no mystery in the movie

This movie is a typical 80s style crime action movie. The actress gets trapped by criminals in a house. They torture her but actually it's audience that are tortured.

How our actress escapes the house is the rest of the story. There is no thrill, no twist only screaming.

This movie can be avoided at every cost.

Saina (2021)

Pathetic movie

This movie is very pathetic and so is the performance from the lead actress. The story is melodramatic and far from reality.

I don't advise anyone to spend time on watching this.

Raja Hindustani (1996)

A nonsense movie with timeless music

This movie doesn't have any proper story to tell. A rich girl gets attracted to a taxi driver leaving all her comfort and easy money? In real life, this can never happen. In the movie, the leads fall in love, marry, fight and unite. The plot is as old as hills. Comedy is garbage and action is over the top.

Only positive point of the movie is the chartbusters and timeless music from Nadeem Shravan and lyrics from Sameer. The movie created hype and succeeded because of music only.

Amir khan and Karishma Kapoor got Filmfare best actors awards which again proves the credibility of Filmfare awards. Also, the same Amir khan got angry when he didn't get award for Rangeela but didn't say anything against Filmfare when he got it for this crap movie.

Dharmesh Darshan hasn't given any good movie in his career. Dhadkan also worked because of music only.

Overall, this is a crap movie that can be ignored. Songs can be watched or heard again and again though. My entire rating is for the songs only. Nothing else deserves any rating

Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997)

This is how a murder mystery shoulder be

This is a very famous murder mystery movie. What I liked about the movie is the way it progresses. It is a journey from the eyes of the main lead to find the murderer of his father. Climax was ultra shocking too.

Today's generation may guess the murderer easily (some of them have claimed also) but it was impossible at the time of its release.

The movie doesn't bore and is worth watch for every murder mystery movie fan.

Be-Shaque (1981)

A not so good suspense thriller

This movie is not so good suspense thriller. We see a murder and then it's investigation in any normal murder mystery movie but this movie doesn't show whether the murder happened or not.

Plot: A servant claims to have witnessed dead body of his master but others including audience don't see it. Then that master's friend (Mithun) comes to meet him and starts to investigate about it.

The pace of the movie is very slow. The romance and songs slow down the pace further. When the truth is revealed (first supposed twist), there is no surprise element. When the actual culprit is revealed, then also there is no shock value.

Where is the problem? The real culprit doesn't have any role in the movie before the revelation. This movie is similar to many other bollywood movies like Samay (2003), Benaam (1974) etc. where the actual culprit doesn't have any appearance and comes all of sudden just to take the credit. Also, at that time only you come to know about murder and other things.

Overall not worth of your time

Machine (II) (2017)

Definitely the worst movie from Abbas Mustan

The movie has similarly with Baazigar. The title machine is explained and can be understood. The movie is good until the machine title mystery is revealed. Till that point the movie can be watches though it is not so great script.

The real problem is the story. It is incomplete. When the machine title mystery is revealed, the movie should have got over in next 5 minutes with whatever culmination they wanted to give. But the movie continues for 30-45 mins more without any story. Also, the other actor who is given so much of screen time in the 2nd half looks like a monkey. He can't act.

Abbas Mustan's direction is stylish as usual but lack of story and bad artists, make this movie a headache.

Taarzan: The Wonder Car (2004)

Good concept gone illogical

This movie was made to showcase the car and the car seriously looks awesome. But the concept they choose to promote the car is wrong.

A car designer is killed by some cunning business men his car. Later his son rebuilds with new design. The man returns as a ghost, uses this car to take revenge.

Ideally there should have been 2 different stories made. One for showcasing car abilities like power, comfort, style etc and another for the concept of car driven by a ghost (2 movies). Why so? Please read..

The movie shows that car repairs itself, it goes sideways, does some acrobatic stunts. Of course that happens because of the ghost but then the actual abilities of the car get hidden. Also, car generates too much of smoke at very speed. Another movie was released just few days after this movie and promoted bikes(Dhoom). That movie became superhit but this movie was a disaster. The car didn't become famous as the movie didn't work. The movie concept is not ideal for promotion.

But the movie concept isn't bad. It has very high entertainment quotient. Then why the most didn't work? Because of illogical sequences and many loop holes.

Our hero is a college student who is struggling to meet his daily needs. His boss in garage is very strict and can deduct salary for any uninformed leave. But he finances our hero to build the car? Why? Emotions? Doesn't make sense. Then after making the car what our hero does? Starts roaming in the city in the car. No other use of that design. His garage boss also doesn't say anything. This is the biggest flaw in the story according to me.

Ideally our hero should have showcased that car to get some job as car designer. His financial situation would have been improved. Then only remaining scenes would have made sense.

There are many other loop holes that you can see on YouTube. Many people have pointed them.

If you ignore all these logical mistakes and watch the movie, you will enjoy it a lot. There isn't any dull moment in the movie.

The movie deserves only 3 stars but gave 1 extra star for that awesome car

Khel (2003)

Could have been a nice suspense thriller instead of an action drama

This movie had potential. It has a story about two friends falling in love with the same girl. This story had been attempted many times before Khel. But those movies (Ram Avatar, Dilwale Kabhi na haare to name some) had an emotional angle where one friend sacrifices his life for another. But Khel has opposite story to tell. It was a kind of refreshing concept. But the direction is very poor. Instead of revealing the actual Game at the start itself, it could have been kept a secret. The final revelation would have worked wonders for this movie. But that doesn't happen. Everything is revealed to audience from the beginning itself and it makes you yawn with heavy, boring and lengthy dialogues. Probably the makers wanted to show us a cat n mouse game "Khel"( that is also spoilt with a weak screenplay). According to me, they should have gone for a whodunit kind of thriller.

Jadeja's acting is boring. Dialogue delivery is lazy. Celina Jaitley is fake. Sunny Deol's entry adds some interest in the movie. He does the savior part nicely. But the movie belongs to Suniel shetty. His acting is superb.

If you want to watch this movie, watch it for Suniel shetty's acting only. Otherwise there is nothing to enjoy in this movie.

Major Saab (1998)

A remake of Shola aur Shabnam

Ek Hi Raasta (1993)

Very familiar story

The story is very similarly to Shola aur Shabnam (1992). But the latter was more entertaining. Ek hi raasta name also is not justified as the scene explaining this name comes very late and doesn't convince much. But if you start watching the movie without much expectations, the movie is passable and will not bore you.

Just to add, Ajay Devgan acted in another movie that was similar to Shola aur Shabnam. That movie came in 1998 with name "Major Saab'

Rajkumar (1964)

An entertaining movie

A prince returns to his reign after 10yrs from foreign but gets trapped in a murder of heroine's father.

Pros: 1. This movie is similar to a thriller movie for that time. From the very first scene, the movie becomes engaging. One scene Shammi Kapoor has beard and it's gone in the next scene. The change is explained immediately but for the first time audience, it adds to the excitement. 2. Shammi Kapoor, sadhna, pran, prithviraj Kapoor and rajendra nath have played their parts beautifully. Shammi Kapoor is very good in comic scenes. A very well deserved product of nepotism. An excellent actor from Kapoor family. 3. Music is very melodious. When the story switches to romantic mood, songs entertain you. 4. The movie can entertain any generation of audience if you have low expectations and do not mind done to death story. Screenplay is the savior here.

Cons: The movie drags towards second half. The first half shows urgency in finding the real culprit (for the movie characters, the audience is shown everything, it's not a suspense movie) but the urgency and interest of heroine gets sideline for some time in the second half. Too many songs come one after the other.

But it was an excellent movie for its time

Veerta (1993)

A decent movie of sunny deol

This movie is a typical 90s flick with predictable storyline but an enjoyable one. It may seem like high octane action drama due to presence of sunny deol but it is not. It has a cute friendship story, too good clean humour and a not too melodramatic script. For eg: If a woman accuses hero of raping her, most of the movies go into sad mode (because of #respectwomen syndrome) but this movie has some intelligent characters. Hero is a rough and tough intelligent guy. Both the heroes, Villagers, factory workers are shown as practical, trustworthy and intelligent. Some scenes are emotional but they are less.

Movie belongs to sunny deol who makes it enjoyable with an all-round performance. Other actors are OK. Once you start the movie, you will never feel bored. Giving 3 extra stars for sunny deol's acting and a script that is not boring. This movie is surely better than "Narsimha" and "Sunny" movies
