Downton Abbey (2010)
melodramatic and inacurate
I am no historian but even I can see all the inaccuracies in this tv series.
Even 30 years ago people were not as progressive as they picture this family in this show. Also, many things borrowed from the current times.
Miranda warning was first used in 1966. Not in the 1930s.
No, women, especially with any blue blood, were not talking to men whenever they wanted, especially to their fathers back then. Fathers did not spend much time with any women in the family to begin with.
"servants" did not talk to the family they served, unless they were asked, same with children. Children were talked at not talked to.
And small thing that I foudn funny, there were no curling irons back then. They barely had electricity not to mention electric curing irons.
Boston's Finest (2013)
hard to watch - systemic racism
This show is just that - a show.
Highlights the f%#&@*^$ personalities of many police officers.
The most annoying parts: - systemic racism. All of the suspects they hunted for major crime were black.
The worst were the patrol officers - many times they just looked for ways to lock someone up.
Personally, most cringeworthy was that patrol chick who was hitting on her partner so much that he switched to a different partner. She was so full of herself, and could not realize that nobody wanted her because she wasn't nice or pretty. And just for the show, she found her adict twin-sister to try to help her. Cringe worthy.
Bones (2005)
the FBI agent - bones is unrealistic
I am trying to watch this show but I find the work relationship between this FBI agent and Bones so unrealistic. I don't like when there is little or no attention paid to details. For example, this guy was a sniper but when he went shooting with her, she got 10 and he did not? In the "field" he lets her take charge. Really? She is a scientist and they let her use her gun? All the hanging out outside of work, also unrealistic. As to science of bones, sure, but why didn't they use DNA on a body that was burnt and decided to use bones. That is beyond me.
James May: Oh Cook! (2020)
if you want to laugh and have fun for 25 mins straight, watch it
Brilliant, punny, quite informative (actually), light and fun.
I loved this show. I laughed my way through the season.
James May has a great sense of humor; what also enriches his show is the situational humor he and the crew mastered as well. Well edited. Makes the show super fun and "relaxing."
I will definitely re-watch.
Chicago P.D. (2014)
good show but melodramatic at times
It is a good show, lots of action, however, there are any inconsistencies and any ridiculous scenes; good show for any gender, but at times too melodramatic.
Fleabag (2016)
magnificent
Magnificent tv series. Kept me captivated to the last minute. There is so much emotions in this series, it is hard to describe. If you have been through a lot in your life, you won't be able to stop watching - it gives a different flavor to our life experiences.
Catastrophe (2015)
fantastic
Fantastic tv show. It talks about serious issues but does make you feel heavy and overwhelmed.
There is love, there is thrill, there is anger, sadness and everything in between. The couple is great. I find myself rooting for them as they are so nice and kind to each other. Even if they mess up sometimes, they forgive one another.
Dr. G Medical Examiner (2004)
too dramatized
The show is too dramatized. It takes away from the science behind her work. The doctor is a bit too creepy for my taste. She seems to get a bit too excited and happy talking about how people died.
The World's Most Extraordinary Homes (2017)
interesting concept for a show, but annoying hosts
It is impossible to enjoy the houses that are presented in this show, as all you can hear and see (too much of) are the hosts.
I tried to be understanding of the fact that they were probably on the show to bring in the commentary and some excitement, but they just didn't work.
The hosts who talk about the houses have little to no respect to the spaces they enter. that is just unacceptable. They enter people's hoes and don't even bother to take off their dirty shoes. they even jump into owner's made beds. that is just unacceptable on so many levels. and simply gross.
the shriek's of that woman will haunt me forever. the owners would tell her how much they love and cherish their homes to which she would dare to respond to that something is hideous. this is just her opinion of a person that clearly has little respect to people's hard work and also.. someone who probably does not understand a thing about architecture. the man is no better with his constant undressing.
