Courageous Warriors Beauty from the Ashes (2021)
Brings To Light So Many More Things You Don't Know About The Cancer Journey
Why is it that the first thing eveyone assumes that cancer is a death sentence? Why can't the first news about cancer be that we can work through whatever form you have and that it will be a journey, a process, hard work... AND a transformation.
What is so hard about sharing that the medical part of the cancer journey is, what in many ways has been found, to almost be the easiest part of the process. You don't hear about the emotional, the psychological, the familial, and of course the physical ramifications, along with the support, understanding, knowledge and insights that are gained.
Why do we need to see it here in this movie that as strict reality, unrehearsed and yet many times repeated, not only to others but inside of each persons head or out loud, about what is going on and why didn't I know? Why didn't someone tell me? How I could have done things differently if I had known. I didn't know I could do that or get help there.
These are the questions asked by Courageous Warriors. These are the answers that are shared in a way that has not been done before. This is the movie that everyone needs to see before, during and after they , or a family member or friend, is diagnosed with cancer and then during the journey of getting rid of or dealing with the everyday fight that defines each and every warrior. Because no one comes out of this unchanged. And everyone comes out as a Courageous Warrior.
Broken Ties (2015)
The Look, the Feel and The Story makes you think
Having not seen any short by Darla Rae before, I was wondering how this story would be told. But from the beginning with the look and feel I got brought into the idea that we are looking to find out how complex the story turns out to be , even though it was supposed to be a simple process.
Getting drawn in wondering about what our own demons or lack of responsibility brings about is what we take time to question in our lives.
The look and feel of the movie gives a fresh cinema viewing. You are taken by the beauty of the area where it is shot. And then the home and comfort of life and yet how difficult it must also be.
Enjoyable and wanting to see where things go from here.
Dandy Kids Documentary (2008)
A difficult topic done with heart and respect.
To all those who think they know what it is like to have a child with a disability, or think they have all the answers I say "Make sure you say your prayers every day!" These are the types of situations that happen to anyone and everyone, without warning, and it changes your life. "Dandy Kids" takes a topic that is difficult to talk about, more difficult to get information about, even in the medical community, and brings it to the forefront with a very comprehensive look about the disease, its diagnosis, "treatment" (as it is), and the families.
WOW! If this one doesn't move you to want to know more and do something about it, you're probably not fogging a mirror.
Yes, its a documentary. Yes, it's done from a non-conventional way. But when was the last time you saw real people, speaking from their hearts about the most precious things in their lives, their kids, and doing whatever they can to let others know about what they go through and live with every day. It wasn't scripted, it wasn't flashy. It's not supposed to be. It is real. And it is REAL good.
See it, support it, and support the cause! I do. Oh yeah, and it WILL make you cry.
The Goal (2005)
Remarkable what can be done if you have the guts and passion
In a time when it's all about the money, it is good to know that passion and stick-to-it can get you so far. Darla Rae has brought an incredible array of local talent and resources to bear to create a genuine, emotional and inspirational movie to life. It is something many people may not get, but those who are ready to realize their own lives, their own mortality and their own blessings will embrace and cherish. I hope more people will get to see how important every person's life is and see that this movie is truly about how each and every one of us has something we are struggling with. The movie takes an approach not often seen - that of the people who really struggle with an accident, not just the injured person, but all those that it affects. And finally, that even after such a tragedy, that their can be a new, albeit, a different life. Thank you Darla for your enduring perspiration to bring this to the world!
