I watched the first episode almost to the end with my wife and didn't get it. With the recommendation from a friend, I tried to watch it too the end but it was just so boring, nothing happened. Just a premise that people would sign up to have their brain severed into work brain and non work brain and that amounts to the total episode. Nothing else happened. I was bored watching it and ended up having to google was this show boring. To which the usual answer of its a slow burn which to me is nothing mush happens in each episode, so why not just cut out all the boring bits to leave the burn. Shows need to make you want to watch the second episode.

Movie was rated 6.8/10 so one would think it must get better, I watched to over half way before fast forwarding through the last hour and glad I did, could see it didn't get any better. I don't understand why humans could have any effect on what the wildlife would do. Things would happen to some types of transport that would not affect other types.
Then there was a scene between two characters that had a language barrier, what was the point of that with no subtitles.
With a star cast i was expecting a good storyline, a good end of the world movie that did not eventuate.
The pace was extremely slow and if you don't like slow movies then skip this one.

Better than expected after a slow start

I almost didn't watch this movie but glad I did. It was a bit slow to start but only gets better from there on.
I wasn't expecting much from a 5.1 star movie but kept watching after the first 30 mins and glad I did.
If you like save the world type movies then there is a good chance you will like this one.
It is not the strongest of movie scripts which is probably why a lot of people didn't like it.
The visual effects were really good.
Not quite as good as Armageddon or Independence Day but not too far off.
So if this is your kind of genre, give it a go, you will like it. If not perhaps pass by this one.

A pilot where nothing happens, boring

A rating of 9.2 a sci-fi show, this should be right up my street.
A pilot should be a showcase of what to expect. There are too many shows coming out that are labeled slow burn and you Google and find a lot of people saying it is boring and slow and that is what I found with this show.
The first episode is a ship on a journey to New York. Gets a message from another "ghost ship" which it meets up with and that was about it.
It was slow and boring
Was mostly 10 out of 10 ratings with a few 1 out of 10s. So either a lot of die hard fans trying to boost the ratings or perhaps paid.
I expect that rating to quickly fall.
Also what was up with the audio, was it poor sync or was it dubbing or a mix of both.
If you like fast pace this is not the one.

A good movie worth watching

I loved the premise of the movie a school for good and evil, sci-fi/fantasy is right up my street, my daughter said she'd give it 9.5/10.
It didn't seem as long as nearly 2.5 hours.
Good storyline, good cast, great visuals.
Would have gone to the cinema to see it.
Have not read the book.
Why on earth does a review have to be 600 characters. If you are sitting on the fence about this one and you like sci-fi, go watch it.
If you've read the book and think that others have said the movie is bad, I've never understood that, if you watched the movie first and like it, then read the book you would be thinking the book was not same as the movie, then bonus, you have seen a good movie and read a great book. You can't really give a movie a bad review just because the book was different...

Stunning visuals but a fail

I watched almost to the end of the third episode, explaining yo my wife that they are just setting the scene and it will get better but it never did. So much promise but oh so boring. Was hoping for another great sci-fi show.
