Mister Ed (1961–1966)
Totally Awesome!!!
8 November 2003
Being only 20, this show was before my time, but when my Nana and I started watching it, it struck a cord...

I'm used to the shows of today using crude and perverted "humor" as they call it and lame plots. but Mister Ed was different, the humor was actually funny and they always found something different to do and make it look practical and not always so outlandish. I sincerely believe that there was not a better man to play "Wilbur Post" than Alan Young, who had the mild manner attitude and "boyish" look to him that completed and made that character believeable. Allan Lane's voice was just perfect for the horse known as "Ed" (but who's real name was "Bamboo Harvester" or "Pumpkin" who was used for certain pictures and promotionals for the show)

This show is timeless and a classic and I am so glad to see it brought back on to television, though many of it's characters are with the LORD now: Larry Keating and Edna Skinner (The Addisons), Leon Ames (Col. Gordon Kirkwood), Allan Lane, Bamboo Harvester, Pumpkin (Ed's voice, the horse in the show, and the promotional Ed), but also happy to see that Alan Young and Connie Hines are still here!

If ever there was a show worth watching, this is IT...

Unique and complex...

Warning: Spoilers
I've grown up watching horror movies, since the age of three with my very first "Nightmare on Elm Street" back in about '87 and then the first of the series, Child's Play, came out and being 4 almost 5 I was forbidden to watch it (Though I don't see why, Nightmare was scarier than Child's Play). Being 18 now and finally getting to see the first Child's Play and having vivid memories of the second, I was quite pleased with all that I saw in them. At first I was a bit iffy on seeing the newest installment, I had heard about it a bit my freshman year in High School, I thought it was a bit stupid and then the other night it comes on Sci-Fi, following the third movie, I said "Eh, why not" and man am I glad I did.

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

The best part of this movie is, of course, Brad Dourif, the voice of Chucky, that laugh of his is trademark and the way he delivers the lines is great, I couldn't think of a better person to voice the doll. Jennifer Tilly was also quite good as Tiffany, though the Satanic voodoo angle wore thin on me being a Christian as I am, but I find the humor coupled with the gore to be a movie made simply to confuse and entertain the "Child's Play" fans who have been waiting for Chucky to make a return. I found Kathy Najimy's role as the maid in the scene when the other couple was murdered with the glass from the mirror to be amusing, being completely oblivious as she was (Reminded of her role in "Hocus Pocus" as Mary, the very unaware one).

I can see where Jessie and Jade fit in with this, they're kind of a way to symbolize Charles Lee Ray and Tiffany in a less psychotic, but more of a confused version, impressionable, if Chucky and Tiffany got their way and got into the bodies of these two, it could have been another "kids gone wrong" example with no one knowing the reality of it, but thats the thing, where would the other movies be?

Like a lot of movies, there were unrealistic parts of it, such as the dolls fighting, Chucky stabbing Tiffany and them not having slept together but a few days before and the baby not only being born, but surviving being stabbed. I am interested to see how they make this whole thing come back and I do await the newest one, but I beg the people who make the new movie, get a better sound track, the last one was a bunch of trash death bands...

My final ratings:

Acting: Dourif/Tilly-10 (especially Dourif) the other two-6

Story line-6 after all, it was kind of hazy

Characters-8 interesting development

Touched by an Angel (1994–2003)
Awesome...
4 May 2002
I haven't watched it before, never knew when it was on or anything, but I caught it tonight and was absolutely wowed. It's not unrealistic, it does display good qualities and things that really do go wrong in real life and how the LORD does fix them. The Lord's anger is displayed with those who do wrong, but the Angels make sure to point out what He does to fix what is wrong and where God is at every turn, if this show makes you want to worship Satan, then you had something wrong with you to begin with. To those who downed Della Reese, I suggest you look again because she is a wonderful actress and a great inspiration (I highly recommend her book, beautifully written)...

P.S. The Lord is there, and like they point out in the show, you just have to know where to look...Don't miss the real message

Awesome, Awesome Show!
7 February 2002
I was 3 almost 4 when this show came on the air, I saw it maybe in 88, 4 going on 5, and I still remember some of it. I just recently saw it on T.V. and it was better than I remembered it. I always liked Ryan, he had a sense of humor, yet he knew when to be serious and he always got right down to what he had to do. The episode were original, and quite good for the 80's, and it didn't waste time on hokey scenes and worthless, cheap, re-used story lines, and the characters were real. I would like to see this show turned into a movie starring all the old members (especially Ryan).

Orange County (2002)
Not worth ANYTHING...
2 February 2002
I saw this movie with my boyfriend, my friend, his friend, and his friend's girlfriend, granted its not made for "teens", but we're all up in age (all above 16 except for friend's girlfriend), and we HATED IT. Sure, there was SOME funny parts, and like everyone else was saying, Jack Black was the best part, but I don't see where the movie went, I mean really!!! The whole thing was an insane family, a nutty councelor who sent the wrong transcript to the college the kid (Shaun) wanted to get into, he and his flock of idiots running around trying to get him in, him getting in and then turning it down, what kind of idiocy was that? These new movies are really getting stupid and this just proves it...my rating? Don't get me started!!!

Xena: Warrior Princess (1995–2001)
Cool show!
1 February 2002
Usually, I wouldn't be interested in something like this, and to be quite honest, I wasn't at first. I was in 7th grade or 8th when I saw it the first time and I thought it was dumb, and then I saw more and saw that I liked it. No, it didn't really follow the timeline correctly, but it did have some wicked actions scenes and cool plots, and best of all, a FEMALE hero! The best characters were: Xena herself, Gabrielle, Autolocus (SP?), and I had to say the best was Joxer, he added comic relief and was just too funny! This was a wonderful show, despite black magic, and the polytheism I HATE that!

Movie was awesome! Kaufman was cool!
17 June 2001
I liked it, I thought the movie gave life back to Andy and Jim Carrey was wonderful in it! I think alot about Kaufman was misconstrued and thrown out of proportion, He wasn't against women he just wanted to make something interesting that he knew people would react to. Everyone is selfish at times, but I think his main goal was to entertain other people, no matter how bizzare - how is wanting to entertain others selfish? I think people are just put off by originality and reject the first thing thats different and to me, thats wrong. Andy Kaufman was not insane, he was original, smart, funny, and had a loving disposition (So I've heard from people who have met him) and there will NEVER be another person like him.
