Series Started Well - and then...
29 May 2023
We really enjoyed the series for the first few seasons. The show was entertaining. The acting was good, the plot lines of the episodes were stretching reality a bit but were entertaining. And then it changed. While it wasn't overwhelming as a show with political roots you must have sides. A left and a right does exist in our reality and likewise with this series.

The series became a pulpit or rather a bully pulpit with a club to bludgeon the viewers into submission to a particular point of view. Those in characters in opposition were caricatures of the worst sort.

In many ways this once entertaining series became one of the largest propaganda vehicles of a certain viewpoint.

After a few years we attempted to pick up the series again. In hopes that we could watch the last season or so... but no.

It's Not Great - Glad I Watched
2 December 2022
This is not a great movie, but I enjoyed it. The plot is ridiculous, it can't happen. But neither can most other movie plots, so just accept that and move on for some merriment and forget your own worries for a short bit of time.

There wasn't a lot of chemistry for the two romantically involved couples but again a suspension of belief allows for an enjoyable experience.

This was funny, bittersweet, and a bit sappy I at times. The movie is definitely dated, but it was made for a post war audience, and we have the opportunity to travel back in time and watch a movie.

This is not a classic, but my wife and I are striving to watch a variety of Christmas Movies that we haven't before, and this was a fun diversion.

I'm Ok are you ok?
16 June 2022
Wow this movie was really.... very...Ok.

That's about it.

My wife said she is done with Marvel. I can't really blame her.

But all in in all, this was OK. See it if you have nothing else to do.

Going to crap... literally
12 May 2022
While this series is one of the most enjoyable, the sheer stupidity of actions written for the characters in an attempt to stretch out the number of episodes is so aggravating.

The choices and actions on doing something today are really a sewer full of crap.

Poindexter Spoiler

Warning: Spoilers
I'm really amazed at those who do not realize that Poindexter's ability to throw things supernaturally accurate has been established from early in the season. He is Bullseye.

Nothing to Like
19 April 2022
This is not an entertaining show. Definitely lacking in humor, though they try for a dark comedy.

There seems to be 20 or 30 F-bombs per episode.

The drunkenness is very sad and the main character is not likable. There is nothing cute about this show.

In the last episode, she indicates that she will try to sober up as if that makes this show have done redeeming quality. It does not.

Luster is fading
10 February 2022
Episode 1.5 leaves me with a feeling of unease.

Poor dialog between Ward and Danny. Danny is oblivious on how to logically communicate with h others.

Danny barely holds his own fighting flunkies, whether it is because he really isn't all that great unless his hands are glowing or what, but people get hurt and almost killed while flunkies fight against him.

The series has potential, and there are some interesting things happening, but I'm less optimistic as we finish episode 1.5.

Inconsistent Fighting Ability
9 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 1.3 shows additional character development for most of the supporting cast. Danny Rand is not gaining any depth of character or charisma during this past hour. In fact the little fight scene is the hospital records room is a degradation in Danny Rand's abilities and is extremely inconsistent on his past prowess. The encounter with a flunky who is searching for medical records turns into a fight in close quarters that for all purposes, he struggles to overcome. In fact he loses the battle.

This scene shouldn't have been made. They could have shown flunky in the records room, then the fire or theft, then Danny complaining that they are missing. This would have been the Same result for the storyline without Danny getting his butt kicked by some random record thief.

Poor writing to get an additional fight action scene.

Intriguing
9 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 1.2 is intriguing.

This episode moves the story along and introduced some further connections with other Marvel series and the MCU in general.

With the appearance of a hand print and writing on the outside window, we can catch a glimpse of Harold's predicament.

This was another good episode as the story unfolds.

It is entertaining, and indicates that the plot lines may be multifaceted.

I am looking forward to the next episode. I am intrigued to see where this leads.

It Is Good
9 February 2022
This is my take on Episode 1.1 This isn't a comparison to the other Netflix Marvel offerings which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

I have appreciated most of the IMDB comments regarding these Marvel / Netflix programs with the exceptions being the remarks about 'filler' episodes.

I was reluctant to watch this series based upon comments. But decided to rewatch the Netflix in a proscribed order which included Iron Fist.

I don't know how this first season will play out, perhaps it will suck... but the first episode was intriguing and I have enjoyed it.

I'm glad I watched it.

This is a terrible adaptation of the novel
13 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason this is rated this highly is due to the visual aspect of this.

The story changes that were added to the script really destroyed the entire premise of the book. The adaptation of the 'Weirding Way' into a silly "voice gun or voice blaster" was stupid.

The ability to make it rain on the planet was again, stupid and takes away the austerity of the planet.

Not worth my time
28 June 2021
This film is rubbish. I tried to watch it years ago. I gave up on it. I decided to try again, as maybe I was in a funk or something the first time. Nope. It is still rubbish. I forced myself to watch it to the end.

This movie has nothing redeeming in it.

This goes nowhere
17 May 2021
With the ratings I was really expecting an enjoyable film. Turner classics preview commentary indicated that we would find this humorous.

We sat through this wondering when the humor would start land really wondered where the movie was going.

The movie goes nowhere.

While the scenes were filmed very well, great cinematography, none of the actors mumbled through their lines, and while the actors are virtually unknown, I think they performed well.

But the movie goes nowhere. It just occupies time.

I had nothing else to do so I'm not mad about watching it, but I can't say I enjoyed it either.

While the movie goes nowhere, I went to the land of indifference.

Not All Oldies Are Wonderful Classics
16 March 2021
While it is true that not all of these very old early talkies, are wonderful, they are still enjoyable. The picture quality is very high, I did not find the sound to be bad. It is a great opportunity to see how motion pictures are progressing. The fact that this movie was released two weeks after my father was born, and he lived 90 years provided an additional incentive for me. What is also fascinating to me is to see and hear actors born in 1862 on screen. 1862 Lincoln was president. I believe this is worth your time. A spy/counter spy movie circa WWI? And yes, she is beautiful.

Use the Force Wesley!
27 January 2021
Here we have the proof that the Force exists in Star Trek. All the mumbo-jumbo spouted by the traveler could have been said by Yoda or Obi-Wan. Once again we see that Wesley is the Chosen One.
