It was worth waiting for...
20 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I must say, with all the hype surrounding this film, and considering how long I have been anticipating it's release, it would have been very easy to have been disappointed - but I wasn't disappointed at all. This film delivers the goods. This film moved me in a way the others had not (including the original trilogy). Although I thought it was a little slower in parts, it more than made up for this with some really amazing scenes.

The scene with Palpatine and Windu was fantastic, and one of the best in the film, as we get to see how Palpatine becomes the horrible, ugly, disfigured character of Episode IV. Also, the scene where Anakin finally betrays the Jedi, and how the clones turn on each Jedi Knight one by one really made me start to feel choked up - this was a very powerful scene and Lucas deserves high praise for this.

This film is amazing, and even if you aren't a fan of the original trilogy, you might just be converted if you see Episode III, which is by far the best film in the Star Wars saga.

Hey did anybody else notice this movie sux?
26 March 2005
Let me just say that I never had any intention of seeing this film. Ever. I have only tried to watch it (tried and failed!) because I bought the Trilogy on DVD, being that it was only a few bucks dearer than buying just the first movie by itself, and it came in a nicer box.

Plus, I thought it was a novelty to be able to see Moya Brady in a film (any fans of "The Bill" would know her as Robbie Cryer), and there was the added bonus of Jack Black as well.

I had extremely low expectations of this film, and I must say, I was still shocked at how bad it was.

Worst. Movie. Ever.

This film should have NEVER BEEN MADE. Especially since the second film in the trilogy was such a huge disappointment.

I find it an absolute insult to the original film, the book, and Michael Ende that this rubbish shares the name "The NeverEnding Story".

The character of Falcor has been murdered beyond recognition. This was the part that made me really angry, and that really made this a waste of film. Same for Rockbiter. Their appearances were not even accurate, let alone their voices, and Falcor seemed to be a stupid, bumbling fool of a thing. Nothing at all like the Falcor we all loved in the original movie. PATHETIC to say the least.

Yet another new cast means that the characters have changed yet again since the second film. Something which I find completely unacceptable. If they insisted on making a 3rd movie after they couldn't get the 2nd one right, then they should have at least kept Jonathan Brandis as Bastian. At least then there would be a shred of continuity (something which is non-existent in this film).

This has to be one of the biggest wastes of film, money and time in the world. I can't think of a worse film that I have seen (except maybe "Freddy Got Fingered" - that's definitely worse).

I'll say it again. This film should have never been made. And that's a fact. If you haven't seen this movie, DON'T EVEN BOTHER. I have it on DVD, and I will not even be watching the ending. It's JUST THAT BAD.

BOR-ING!
25 July 2004
This movie was really quite lame. I was bored from about 20 minutes into it, and after around 40 minutes, I decided to stop watching. If you haven't seen this film yet, don't bother. The story was poor, and the animation was very old fashioned. If I wanted to watch a movie with "traditional" animation, I would watch "The Lion King" - it's far better than this abysmal film. And as far as keeping the kids entertained, I feel this movie would bore them to tears. I'm surprised this was even shown in cinemas. It reeks of a tacky "straight to video" film. Predictable storyline, weak attempts at humour and tacky animation make this not even worth renting. If you do want to see it, I would suggest you wait until it is shown on television.

Fair Go Mate...
27 March 2004
I think people are being far to critical of this film.

It's a kids movie, and should be treated as such. Granted, it's not fantastic, but I still enjoyed it. It gave me a few laughs and I left the cinema happy.

And the kids LOVED it! There was lots of laughter through the cinema all through the film when I went to see it this morning - from both the kids AND the mums and dads.

Frankly, I think this film has been unfairly bashed by many, largely because of the fact that people are losing their sense of humour. Yes this film is silly. Yes this film is very stupid. But what on earth did you expect? Citizen Kane?!

Why don't you take your children to see it. I'm sure they'll love it, and you will probably get a few laughs as well. Make up your own mind. It's not as bad as people are making out. 6 out of 10.

Sheer perfection
23 December 2003
This, being the final movie in the trilogy, is also the climax of the story, and what a climax it is. This is just perfection. Sheer perfection. I hope this movie makes it to position 1 on the imdb's top 250, because it really deserves this place. This is unlike anything I have ever seen. It is such a magical movie and you must see it!!! This is truly a milestone in the history of cinema. Go and see it and be a part of movie history...

Absolutely fantastic. 10/10

T2 remains the best movie...
10 December 2003
T3 is still a great movie, and there is a lot to like about it, and I still really enjoyed watching it, however there are some problems with it that make it disappointing for me. Reading some other reviews from people, I can see I am not the only one who had problems with it, and perhaps if James Cameron was on board with this film, it would have been much better.

First, Edward Furlong should have been back for John Connor. I'm not trying to take away anything from Nick Stahl, because he did a great job. In fact, he looked somewhat like a younger Kyle Reese, and at times, even looked like Furlong himself, but why didn't they just get Ed back for the 3rd - it would have been that much better if they had.

Next, was the fact that the T-101 was still trying to be like the T-101 from the second film, despite the fact that it was a different cyborg. Why was it still copying the behaviour that it's predecessor had been taught then, such as not killing humans and looking for the keys under the sun visor?

Finally, the movie didn't seem to go for long enough, and the story was quite shallow. Elements of a fantastic story were there, but were only brushed over. The whole thing seemed very rushed and actually I was disappointed when the credits began to roll because I thought there needed to be more to the story.

Having said that, T3 is still a good movie, by all means, I would recommend you see it, especially if you are a fan of the previous 2 films, or love Arnie. However T2 still remains the best film.

Triumph or Trainwreck?
17 October 2003
I have just seen this movie for the first time. I guess I had pretty high expectations and so found myself disappointed by the film, however I'm still not sure if I liked it or not. I have read other user's comments and I agree with alot of them. The film is almost impossible to understand. I have not read the book, so maybe after reading the book I will watch it again with a fresh perspective, however it is not good that the film is so damn hard to follow. It is like nothing I have ever seen before and it was simply annoying in places. I was glad to get to the end of it. However having said this, I did WANT to sit through it. I felt quite contented to give it a go, and so perhaps it is not all bad, because if a movie doesn't hook me fairly quickly, I don't usually sit through the lot. So....yeah. Triumph? Or Trainwreck? Not sure really. I will read the book and watch it again.

BOR-ING!!
10 October 2003
I just could not get into this movie. I didn't find it the least bit entertaining and of the 3 times I have tried to watch it, I still have not made it through the whole lot. The cast line up is impressive, however the film fails to deliver the goods. If I would have paid money to see this film, I would have been very annoyed. This is one of THE WORST movies I have ever tried to sit through. It is a constant bore, with nothing at all to keep the viewer from falling asleep. I know all the intellects out there will think this film is a masterpiece, but for those of us who see movies as a form of escapism and not something that you have to constantly concentrate on whilst watching, this film is a load of garbage. 1 out of 10.

Disappointing
29 July 2003
I love Herbie - it's hard not to. However I can recognise how the four movies gradually get worse. This was the worst one. Now I'm not saying it was terrible, and I don't agree with a comment above that says "make the kids watch something else", but it was a disappointing effort.

The Love Bug is by far the best, closely followed by Herbie Rides Again. Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo is OK, but Bananas is not very good at all. If you're not a fan of Herbie movies, you won't like this.

An overall good movie
11 July 2003
This was a pretty good movie overall, however I still prefer the Batman movies (call me old fashioned). The special effects were a little o.t.t. in places, but this was to be expected. The Green Goblin's costume was very strange. It looked like it was stolen from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, yet at the same time I think this made it more menacing, with a bit of humour twisted into the evil. This I thought worked very very well.

Great cast, particularly the lovely Kirsten Dunst. She is simply gorgeous. An overall good movie. 7/10

Dragon, and i don't mean the fire breathers...
27 February 2003
When I say dragon, I don't mean the winged beasts that were flying around in the sky. I mean this movie really seemed to drag on. Although it only went for an hour and a half, that was enough. I really found this movie difficult to get into, and when I reached halfway I actually didn't care if I saw the end. The cinematography was extremely bland and mundane, and the special effects were really not that earth shattering. In fact, on the whole, this was a very ordinary movie. The only good thing about it was Izabella Scorupco. Rent it if you must, but don't say I didn't warn you. 3/10.

let it go!
16 November 2002
This movie has been televised here so many times that I am sick of the sight of it. Just like Groundhog Day playing out over and over again, the network thinks it is amusing to put it on about twice every year. Like an old joke, it was funny the first time, but now it is just plain boring and stupid, and has become tiresome. I am determined that I will not watch this movie ever again for as long as I live. GET OVER IT! IT'S NOT FUNNY!

Better than the modern version
16 November 2002
This film remains the best of any of the Planet of the Apes movies. Even with all the special effects, the modern version does not come close to this film. Charlton Heston delivers a magnificent performance, as do the entire cast. This film is an oldie, but a goodie. 9/10.

very ordinary...
15 November 2002
This movie was not very good. In saying that, it wasn't a bad film, but it was not Arnie at his best. I wouldn't advise you pay money to see this film. My advice is to wait until it's on TV, or until one of your friends has rented it... Verdict: Middle of the road (5/10)

A Classic Film...
15 November 2002
This movie is fantastic. It has been one of my favourite films since i was 6 years old. I have just recently purchased this film on DVD and i couldn't be happier with it. It is one of those rare movies that you can watch over and over again and it is still as enjoyable every time.

I would recommend this movie to anybody who enjoyed the Lord of the Rings and similar movies.

This film truly is a classic and deserves a place in the top 100 films.

An excellent movie...
25 May 2001
This movie is just brilliant. A nice mix between "Strictly Ballroom" and "Romeo + Juliet". Great performances by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman. I think this movie will go far. I give this a 10/10 - but don't take my word for it - SEE IT YOURSELF! I promise you wont be disappointed.
