Love Hard (2021)
Missed Opportunity
This was a cute movie, it had some funny moments and I loved the Christmas element. The only downside, the main characters had no chemistry. The ending was incredibly awkward, the relationship between the two was just not believable. Had they picked a different male lead or female lead, maybe but the two together was just not relatable. I didn't get that romantic feeling that rom coms usually give, yes it was cute but I felt very disconnected.
Red Dot (2021)
Stick with it
I will say there are various predictable moments however it does keep your interest. I definitely could've done without one specific scene (disturbing images warning). Stick with it, it doesn't turn out like you think. The ending definitely saves the film.
Malcolm & Marie (2021)
Toxic Tales
I gave this a 4 only because the acting was fantastic however had the roles been portrayed by anyone else, the film would've scored a half of a star. The film is literally one long argument, there is no climax, no plot, no ending, truly there was nothing the audience could hold on too. Malcolm's character was pretentious, soulless and truly cringing to watch.
Be forewarned that the female audience will feel this film in their gut.
The Little Things (2021)
Unique & Capturing
First off, a phenomenal performance by Rami Malek, Jared Leto and Denzel Washington. Each actor portrayed their roles with such thought, the body language, the little ticks, the way each word was thought out carefully, it was truly astounding.
Secondly, the ending was quite brilliant. It put us in their shoes. I believe the ending made the audience feel the frustration, the let down, the anxiety, all the emotions that the characters were feeling we as an audience felt as well. The movie asked a bigger question, had a deeper meaning, showed a way more vulnerable side to the job and that is what made this such a great film.
Selena: The Series (2020)
Not About Selena
I gave this 3 stars for the music, the costumes and the overall nostalgia. However, this was entirely made to put Suzette and AB in the spotlight. The series dove further into their lives than Selena's. I feel a lot of Chris & Selena's story was skipped over however they made sure to slow it down when it came to Suzette and AB. This could've been a lot better had it actually focused on Selena.
