Depressing movie works due to tremendous acting on behalf of Smith
17 June 2007
I mean it - the movie was good, but it was depressing. However, the movie wouldn't have been as good if not for Will Smith's acting. He really was good, and should have won the Oscar. However, he was up against Forrest Whitaker, and I didn't think he was going to win in that sense. But, he did give an amazing and 100 % believable performance. I will admit, though, as a kid whose parents divorced at a young age, I can kind of connect with the kid. In the movie, it is written so that Smith's character is a real person, and this is made better by Smith portraying him as a real person. It adds tremendously to the movie, which is worth it for Will Smith at the least. I would recommend it to those who need inspiration in their lives and like Will Smith, which is actually almost everybody in either categories.

Highly Interesting

Title says it all - this is one of those movies that makes you say, "huh." But, you like it. The worst thing I ever heard someone say is that it's okay. Understandable - the movie is animated, and a musical. If you don't like either, you won't like this film. But if you can appreciate good music and cool animation/effects, then you will find this movie likable. It's not overly predictable, but not, "Oh my god! I had no IDEA he was going to do that!" I don't want to give away a lot of the plot and highs of the movie, but I will say this - I recommend this to people above the age of 5 (they (people the age of 5 or below) might consider it to be scary). It's fun, has comedic moments (put it this way - when it's meant to be funny, it succeeds), although not intended really as a comedy, but more of an interesting watch that makes you wonder, "What would I do if I were Jack Skellington?"

Eragon (2006)

This Movie Owns

Okay, take a look at this. Eragon has some of the most stunning visual effects ever. Also, the acting is very good, and though it is quite different from the book, it still, how you say, rocks. I recommend it to all, just because. The sets are quite awesome - we should all be thankful that they filmed in Hungary. Jeremy Irons is, as always, awesome, especially in this role. I would have loved to have seen Ian McKellan cast because I think he is incredible, but I think Irons is better for the part. Also, one comment I read said that Ed Speleers is always just solemn - to them, I say that Speleers is not 19, and everyone has a basic expression. Plus, film acting is a lot harder than it seems - just ask the great and powerful 2 time Oscar winner Michael Caine - he would know. Rachel Weisz is perfect for Saphira, and though there are some weird dragon scenes, she is very good. 9/10

Hilarious

I couldn't stop laughing. I love how it put veggie tales to shame - that was great. My mom was always afraid of them. I am trying to convince her to see this - but veggie tales has scarred her for life.

I'd rate this movie PG-13 for obvious reasons. I won't spoil it - you must see it to see how funny it truly is.

If you're old enough, watch it - all people love it. It's very short - that means it's to the point. It also has great animation - very fun. I like how the vegetables/fruits are completely random - no organization at all.

Funniest movie I have ever seen ... really.
