Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road (2023)
Amusing
An interesting episode. I like the kind of episode where a bit of time travel suddenly results in change and no one existing. Ok I've seen it so many times in science fiction stories-the danger is that you eliminate yourself-the old grandfather paradox-or the fact that you still exist but in a totally different form.
I thought the main actors were brilliantly cast the scene where Milly did the open the door walk round the Tardis and back in the end was brilliant!!
The old lady played by Anita Dobson makes me think was she a previous companion-what is her back history. As one Doctor said 'There's always some thing you don't know!'.
Bodies (2023)
Interesting
I have only watches 2 episodes so far and I am hooked.
I honestly thought as I started watching this it's going to be time travel predestination and so on. Add in a bit of conspiracy and shadowy people in the background. Oh yes and there's the paradox of the victim in four time zones walking into the university!!!
To be honest it's very hard for me to watch any detective series as I normally spot the murderer after five minutes but this genuinely interests me.
The casting costumes and locations are first rate and I look forward to seeing how this turns out.
I would be interested in seeing a DVD of this coming out as I can see me watching this again and again.
Doctor Who: Blink (2007)
Excellent!!
I love this episode.
Paradox upon paradox!!
Basically why did you do that? Well you told me to! And so on!!
The only thing I can query is the Tardis. At the start it was in the police station. At the climax it was in Wester Drumlins. Did the Angels move it there?
It was very tautly written to get everything in one episode but I think they handled it well.
I particularly liked the minor details of the photographs and so on of Sally's friend.
As for the cross time conversation this was brilliant!!!
I never tire of watching this episode as I always find something new to see.
I've always thought the Angels are one of the scariest baddies.
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (2022)
Lovely
A beautiful experience - I nearly cried.
The animation was first class and the dialogue was very moving.
The characters voices were so suited to each other. I would watch this and would re watch this particularly with my grand sons who unfortunately live far far away.
The mole is obsessed with CAKE and is to me just like 'The Wind in the Willows'.
To me this is a faithful rendering of the book and has brought great pleasure in these troubled times. It is good that such joy is brought by the skill of the author and the animators.
I look forward to seeing this again and again in my remaining years.
