Circle (2015)
That's about 100 minutes of my life I'll never get back again.
Really, no but really.
There was a chance to make this into a very good movie.
What a pity it st*ff*d up so badly.
Well I suppose when you spend about $100 000.00 on a production you get something like this.
The Shallows (2016)
Simply not believable.
Yes, the videos under the water are wonderful, however remember that was all done in a enormous tank, not in the sea.
The water was too shallow and the corals too prevalent for a shark let alone a great white shark.
They spent an inordinate amount of time on her body at the beginning.
It honestly was just totally unbelievable.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Great cast, great premise, lost the plot.
I Care a Lot, has a great cast, the acting is wonderful and the first 35-40 minutes as the plot evolves, is really good.
Thereafter it becomes trite.
What a pity.
Kiss the Girls (1997)
Good movie, however 40% impossible to see.
The movie is good, as is the plot, but 40% is filmed in the dark, it makes it incredibly difficult to follow.
The director thinks he is brilliant, he is an idiot.
After this I will studiously avoid any of his movies.
Dying of the Light (2014)
Typical Nicolas Cage.
A typical Cage movie, however this one with a different story line.
Fairly enjoyable but definitely not a 'must watch'.
Hide and Seek (2005)
De Nero must have really needed money to act in this.
Really, no but really.
This has to be one of the most ludicrous movies I have seen.
De Nero, why, why, why?
Did you really need the money so badly.
The problem is, it actually could have been good.
What a pity.
Come and Find Me (2016)
Great until the last 20 minutes.
The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last 30 minutes.
It then tends to go hayrire with everybody shooting everybody else and others joining in just........because.
It really is a pity, it could have been a 7 or even 8.
A Hidden Life (2019)
Superb acting, amazing scenery, stunning cinematography but .....
The movie is about 40 minutes to long, and yes I do understand that the scenes and history have to be set, however it really is too much.
I cannot accept the lead characters philosophy.
Yes, to fight for your principles is admirable, however when it causes you to become blind to your home and family it becomes asinine.
He is totally and completely wrong, and basically, in my opinion, deserved his fate.
The Intruder (2019)
Oldish plot but good acting.
As I said the plot has been done before but it is still a gripping thriller and the acting is good.
I have specifically not added more so as not to add a spoiler, but worth a watch.
Resistance (2020)
That Resistance is based on a true story makes it even more poignant.
Wonderful, teary eyed movie, that brings into stark relief the bravery, tenacity and love that enabled people to overcome the despicable actions of the nazi's and save all those children.
When the Bough Breaks (2016)
A couple hires a woman to carry their baby.
A thriller based on a woman who is hired to carry a couples baby who is psychologically unsound.
She falls in love with the husband and threatens to break up the could marriage and kill the wife.
I found it predictable, and boring.
The narrator simply makes it worse than it is.
Joueurs (2018)
A must see with great acting.
It's the age old story.
Boy meets innocent hard working girl with her own restaurant; girl falls in love with boy; boy takes girl gambling and destroys both their lives.
But seriously this is a really good movie and inspite of the subtitles it is a griping story for those of us unfortunates who don't speak French.
Make sure you go and see it.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
A good plot gone horribly wrong.
I honestly cannot understand how anyone can think this movie is worth watching.
Although the original story is reasonable the plot degenerates to kindergarten slapstick.
The acting is totally over the top and... I really can't think of anything good to say about it..... sorry.
Bad Education (2019)
A definite must watch.
This had to be one of Hugh Jackmans best acting roles, and yes I am including Les Miz.
He was amazing as was Allison Janney.
Do yourself a favour and go and see this.
La casa de papel (2017)
Great series unfortunately the dubbing is 3rd rate
Money Heist is a great Spanish series and well worth watching.
The only unfortunate part is that the dubbing into English is really bad, besides that very enjoyable.
Unlocked (2017)
A somewhat confusing thriller.
This is a somewhat confusing thriller with a lot of 'big name' stars including Michael Douglas, Tony Collette, & Orlando Bloom.
The main character is played by Noomi Rapace who unfortunately had a very limited repertoire of facial expressions, but nevertheless is not a bad actress.
Worth a viewing but it is an extremely confusing script, although it does sort of come together in the end.
Grand Isle (2019)
Really Cage, you're better than this.
This is really a hotch potch of a forgettable movie/ psychological thriller.
The various twists and turns and spirals serve only to confuse and lead to a totally suspension of belief.
If you're really bored, and really like Nicholas Cage, you might give this a whirl.
Brimstone (2016)
Wonderful acting, keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Brimstone is a heart rending, edge of the seat movie.
That being said it is 30 minutes too long, and it really leaves you with a feeling of, oh come on now, it's enough already."
It just doesn't stop with the,"Satan never dies" gambit.
It would have been great with at least one less "risen from the grave" scene.
Pretty Little Dead Girl (2016)
Good concept, iffy acting.
The plot is interesting and different.
Unfortunately what could be a great movie is left down by the acting.
The main character Makenzie Vega, has unfortunately only about 3 differing facial expressions throughout the movie.
The other characters are semi ok, how the mother Johanna Newmarch got an award for best supporting actress in a TV show is mind-boggling, as her performance was incredibly uninspiring.
Arizona (2018)
A really great thriller & black comedy.
It kept you on the edge of your seat, virtually throughout.
Danny McBride was tremendous in the role and Rosemarie DeWitt gave a great performance.
Definitely worth watching.
