Billy Boy (2017)
I mean, yeah I liked it
I actually enjoyed the film, a lot of sex and romance that doesn't really hold with the total message of the movie and the girlfriend that the main character has doesn't really help with that (but my personal preference with movies is that it doesn't have too many romantic scenes so this is just coming from me) I really liked it but there was a lot of jumping and flashbacks which kind of reminded me of "we need to talk about Kevin" but the difference is that this movie and that movie is that this movie doesn't give me a headache. In MY opinion there was some pretty good acting in the movie and the movie tries it's best to be cinema graphic in some moments but it comes off as kind of unnatural but not a bad movie at all.
Lolita (1997)
Lolita in my arms.
I'm sorry but I just loved this film. Not just the characters but how it presented Humbert and how it made it so clear that he was an unreliable point of view in the story. Lolita in his eyes was a bratty, flirty, manipulative, girl but in reality, if you can see through the facade of Humbert's point of view you could see that she only wanted a father and had no choice but to latch onto him after the death of her mother. It's a bitter story told through a bittersweet perspective. The way he would describe this little girl was disturbing but so "sweet". Just going to give a heads up but this movie is kind of a "bastardization" of the book. A very provocative film.
American Psycho (2000)
Disturbing and Hilarious
I watched the movie and I think it's really good piece. It's so funny in the beginning but it gets more and more disturbing which I found interesting. The movie is centered around a self-obsessed business man who feels inferior to his associates and decides to kill people off who he feels is inferior to him. But the twist in this movie is that he never killed anyone at all, it was all in his head. All of his associates make fun of him and he's having an affair with a gay person's wife. What I took away from the movie was how you shouldn't be self-absorbed and also I think there is a message about media desensitization in there, if you were to look at his tv it'd be playing porn and violent movies and I think that's also what contributed to his thoughts about murder.
Runt (2019)
0 DEPTH, UNSATISFYING ENDING
I don't like to be a movie snob, I like all movies. The thing is that this movie sucks. Might as well call it "Bullied guy kills bully". The ending too just left me empty with the whole thing. Oh and just a little spoiler, the "twist" in this movie is that the girl that wanted him and stuff told him to kill the bully at the end WOWZA!!! Just oh my god, It was so bad. It's insane, this is the last movie that Cameron did before he died. You'd think that the movie would be good, he even said that it spread a "good message" (at the end credits of the movie) I'm just so utterly disappointed, don't waste your time.
