The Lighthouse (2019)
Screw Twighlight, Robert owns this movie
I'll keep this brief, how many times does a movie come along like this and not leave you gasping for air? IF I was n a desert Island, this blu ray is coming with me to watch in my air con trailer. The magic of black and white cinematography is just out of the ballpark when it comes to this film. Awesome stuff.
Le Cinquième Élément (1997)
Better and Better and Better
I saw this at the cinema when it first came out and its still just as good if not better. How I love a good 90s sci fi and in many ways, they still surpass sci-fi films of the 2010s and now 2020s. It was a golden age of great offbeat cinema but I wonder if distributors would even have the balls to show films as good as this now? Bruce is just awesome and Mila, what an actor. The music gets me every time 'Super Green'.

High Cinema Belongs to This
No words.... wow, what a movie. Loved it. This is my kind of film. I even clapped at the credits. Nothing else to say except its a magnificent watch and a great critique on capitalism and why we need to end it. Loved this so much... *top 10 favorite
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Please stop making them
If one Avengers production budget funded indie movies, we'd have hundreds of thousands of engaging, good indie films. Please stop making these films now. Just stop. We have the video game somewhere I'm sure, no need to keep on calling them movies. The problem with mass cinema goers is that they actually think this type of film is good. All candy and no cake. I can't watch another one.

50 Shades of Cult
Wow, its bleak and horrible in all the right places and stark and engaging in others. Its more of an endurance to get through till the end but if anything, I ended this movie with a sense of triumph, more so that I actually got through to the end. It doesn't hold any punches and never stops to give you a rest. The mud, rain and sense of death is almost too much to bear but in the end, its a film I'd like to own on Blu Ray. Also loved the sound. Its not for the faint hearted though. Outstanding production values especially the sets. Oh my gosh, the miserable mud, and the rain. The middle Ages would have sucked.
Black Garden (2019)
A solid art film thats a good fit for indie watchers
Glad that I saw this movie but its a hard watch. It's bleak and slow but that's exactly what would happen after a nuclear war when no one is left. It reminded me a bit of On the Beach but less kitsch. Performances were good and cinematography was superb. Don't recommend this to anyone who wants an action movie. Its more film festival indie art film rather than a movie if that says anything. If that's what you want out of 90 mins then you'll rate it high but if you want a film that's pure veg out entertainment, don't watch it. I'd like to see it again because its been on my mind after I saw it the first time.
