Cirque du Soleil: Quidam (1999)
Wow!
Cirque du Soleil's Quidam will, I'm sure, leave you amazed. The contortions, the music, singing and embedded humour will have you glued I'm sure. That's what I found. I loved the experience!
The Chosen (2017)
Most believable portrayal of Jesus' life I have seen
I love the way Dallas Jenkins has written and directed this series. There are a lot of behind the scenes facts we simply don't have on the Bible stories. Dallas and the team, in my opinion, have provided plausible fill-in information to the events in the Gospels. I love the fact that Jesus is portrayed as having a sense of humour, his look of bemusement when Simon Peter and others were struggling to get a net full of fish into the boat is priceless. And the acting is completely believable. I have cringed a lot in the past in watching movies made by well meaning followers of Christ but the acting in this series is totally professional and believable. I suspect because this project is crowd funded the pressures from Hollywood to conform to either a cheesy or a controversial Jesus are just not there. Thank you Dallas and team for a great series, our family is looking forward to more of this.
The Durrells (2016)
Very well acted and funny
Hilariously funny at times and generally amusing most of the time. The acting is very believable and the writers deal with a number of current issues. There is some smuttiness but it is handled, in my opinion, mostly in good taste. If you have young children then some scenes may not be suitable. Or family loves this series.
Ghosts (2019)
Seriously funny British humour
Good, mostly, clean fun and seriously funny. As others have mentioned, if you love Horrible Histories you are likely to love this because a number of the actors are in both. Language is good and the acting is superb.
