Amor Descarado (2003)
really funny
Amor Descarado is an unusual, refreshing new idea of novela. Take one part drama, one part great actors, one part tear-jerker, and two parts comedy, you'd about have it summed up.
Barbara Mori is beautiful and fantastic as always as Fernanda Lira, it was a joy to see her here. But in that context, all the actors were great. Every character could make you laugh. After a day of drama there is nothing better than sitting down to an hour of laughs on Amor Descarado.
The show is dramatic, with interesting plot twists. However, where in some shows the concepts would be frankly ridiculous, here they succeed. This show was not meant to be realistic, it was meant to be funny. And it succeeds there perfectly.
Mariana de la noche (2003)
awful
Marianna de la Noche is without a doubt the worst telenovela I have ever seen.
Despite a wonderful cast, the lead actress is terrible. She is too dreamy, too overdone, too WOODEN. Her acting is unbelievable. The really good actors, such as Cecar Avora (Atilio) or Patricia Reyes Spindola (Maria Lola) were completely overshadowed by Alejandra Barros's (Marianna)bad acting.
The plot was also completely unbelievable. The good guys were idiots, the bad guys were completely shallow and evil and half the time no one seemed to know what was going on. Serious mistakes were made in terms of believability, such as Ignacio's 'sworn enemy' and Marianna's amnesia. Also, everything anyone did seemed to revolve around Marianna. And am I the only one who noticed that none of the other Indians wore a FEATHER in their hair? This was just plain awful. There's no other word for it.
