Giving this 10 stars what would you give to Gravity or Interstellar?!
You'd be out of scale because you'd need like 30-stars range of rating. Such bold reviews and high rating in movies like this makes me think that they were given by people involved in the making of the film. Even if you saw only 10 random movies in your life I daresay you wouldn't give more than 5 stars to this one.
It really takes a skilled director and very good actors to achieve satisfying outcome with this kind of intimate and no-action scenario, but such assets were not provided for this film.
The movie is boring (and I didn't expect laser fights), poorly acted and could be filmed equally in either some house or basement as it gives no impression of being in space at all.
There's another low budget sci-fi movie released this year (2022), Deus, and that one, however not great, is a way better option for your lazy movie evening.
I give to this one a generous 4/10 because it doesn't really deserve any worse and in spite of all it was done with good intentions to deliver a wise (?) content to a viewer.

Free Guy (2021)
I consider skipping movies with Reynolds
Having suffered from watching The Adam Project I decided however to give this one a chance, but it seems Reynolds' presence is now the indicator of a bad popcorn movie.
To be clear when I watch a film I don't need everytime to be vastly intimidated by a profound depth or a timeless message. But come on - does it always have to be such a mindless mess? The plot is weak and serves no purpose except for enabling the characters to run wildly across ridiculous reality and Reynolds' natural comedic skills don't save this movie from being boring mixture of flashing scenes. Whoever writes in their reviews there's "a thought" here likely needs to leave their digital cave and meet some real life out there.
Virtual reality, when used properly, gives a movie maker almost infinite possibilities, but here the virtual potential was wasted and if you liked Player One, this movie is light years behind Spielberg's film.
My rating: 4/10 - Tiresome and flawed. Watchable but mostly only for fans of the genre.
