The Liberator (2020)
10/10
The Amazing First Miniseries on Trioscope
16 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A series that, through the perspective of the protagonist Felix Sparks (senior lieutenant of a liberation brigade), shows us how unfair World War II was for the types of people the Nazis killed, how Native Americans were seen, immigrant foreigners from other countries outside the United States, people of color and even Germans themselves who were or were not part of the Nazi regime and their families

The animation, Trioscope, works quite well to portray the settings of battle bosses, minefields, concentration centers, and destroyed towns or cities. Also, for most characters it works quite well to express their emotions and to be able to feel empathy with them.

The protagonist, Félix Sparks, is a senior lieutenant in the brigade who helps him train and be able to be good soldiers in a war where it is difficult to get out alive and who hopes to be present when everything is over to return home to his wife being received by the general like a hero

La segunda versión de Carrie, por Netflix
1 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In 2020 it was released on Netflix, the version of Carrie probably more credible or sensible way of seeing a female character with a somewhat dysfunctional family in certain aspects and who wants to go unnoticed by the school who discovers that she has super telekinetic abilities and not wanting to thinking about it or wanting to forget mostly the bad things that you go through and give you fits of irá that intensify with the passage of time On the subject visually speaking, it is quite good being a Netflix series with a female protagonist with the ability to move objects when she gets angry, something that they already have experience from Stranger Things. The characters' clothing works quite well and matches their personalities and roles. And the performances, like the characters, are not badly managed.

The Synopsis: (Sydney is a teenager going through the trials and tribulations of high school as she grapples with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and the mysterious superpowers that are just beginning to awaken deep within her) is a of the ways to describe the story and the protagonist herself. Sydney is a teenage girl, who after the death of her father, has to endure the fact that her mother works double shifts and I left her in charge of everything at home and leaving her with her little brother who is the only one who makes her feel good. The character works well to convey a girl who feels trapped in a narrow room where there are only four walls, a floor and a wall, you get to understand why she feels that way when we understand why her father committed suicide without any explanation, note or will and what he went through before he died. Someone like Sydney can feel in doubt for a long time and have no idea why or be able to get the answer that simply from a person who committed suicide without warning.

The character of Dina is Sydney's friend who sometimes leaves her for her stupid athlete boyfriend who cheats on her with another, for Sydney she is like the other person who can make her feel good, only from another perspective, Since it also counts as a romantic interest at a certain point in the story and although it seems the weakest character to me, it works well for the plot since everything falls on Sydney, her teenage problems and that includes her social circle

Stanley is Sydney's neighbor and romantic "interest" who supports her when her friend Dina leaves her little by little, he is a pseudo geek marijuana seller who is not afraid to try his merchandise and who has problems understanding his father , for Sydney at first it is a way to hang out without Dina, but when time passes she sees that it can be more than that although she knows that it will not happen or that she is sure enough that it wants to happen

The story is somewhat simple as it is a teenage series with which several viewers with the same problems as the protagonist (with a skeptic of the powers) can empathize and, although the plot is not entirely original, it does not disappoint. Since the season finale leaves a promising cliffhanger for the next season

For a somewhat vague plot, a good movie
25 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In this 2020 Unknown Secret will be released, which tells the story of David, a detective from Madrid who hates the concept of superheroes for ending up as Bruce Wayne without being Batman and who after murders directed at various criminals and criminals with crime scenes which are references to comic book characters, joins Jorge Elias, a comics lover and knowledgeable geek culture who guides David after understanding the killer or villain's modus operandi A compelling enough premise for any fan of the superhero genre who likes series and realistic stories like Kick-Ass or The Boys, stories that take the genre to an acceptable and considerable realism that presents a world of what it would be like to have heroes in real life although in a different way each one The characters in this film are well-behaved and each one fulfills their role well Jorge Elias is a geek who hangs out with his family so as not to feel alone in a house where he has a retired detective father who does not understand him at all, or at least tries, since although he has a recurring comic book store, according to him, everyone sees him as the one who only sells their merchandise from which they spend all their salary and that's it, and who would rather have the brother who bothered him because of his overweight but who also took care of him and ended up dying as a hero before enduring so long in that store, as much as it was his dream to have it since he was a child Norma is David's romantic interest and lover of manga, cosplay and head of the police department who knows what she is doing and who can trust it and who she puts in charge of the case, and despite something geek she does not know so much about the world of comics and is more Otaku than anything else, the main reason why he prefers Jorge as David's partner and computer expert on the case Cosme is Jorge's father and a great detective who seems to have some good story to tell, his attitude as a father who loves a son who does not understand is well marked and serves as a resource to feel more and more identified with Jorge, since his eldest son was a policeman who died in a fire as a hero and was left alone with his youngest son who prefers fictional heroes more David would be, probably, the weakest character in the film, for the most part it is difficult to find some justification for his contempt for the geek world and what they enjoy and he believes that they are simple misfits who spend the little salary they get collecting bottles on stupid things and he is surprised when knows that these geeks can be doctors, dentists, heads of offices, companies and that only one of them earns more in a month than he does in a year. He is an outsider who prefers to look down on a stranger who becomes even his co-worker instead of just continuing with what he has to do, and when he enters the case and he is explained what is happening and what the situation is about. thing, he prefers to follow his course instead of listening At first we know almost nothing about the villain and as the plot progresses we know that he is someone who took the identity of a millionaire to commit the crimes and we even discovered that he was one of the allies of the protagonists and that everything he does is to raise to a hero who is a symbol of what heroes that do not exist in the real world represent. He is someone who believes that if God allows tragedies to happen to good people from bad people, it is so that good people are more than they already are and protect good people from the bad times that life gives. These feelings are reflected in the criminal murderer and leaves crime scenes as references to comics (SPOILER) Example: the first victim is a bodybuilder who does weights in a gym in his basement where he also manufactures drugs to increase muscle mass, he dies thanks to the fact that he would inject one of the drugs adulterated by the murderer and when doing weights he was he would break his wrists and the weight would fall on him to later end up with his skin turned gray (reference to the first appearance of the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk # 1) Example 2: another victim is a 15-year-old boy who had previously raped a girl, he is left hanging on the ceiling of an abandoned factory after being bitten by a very dangerous spider for him and would leave him posing as in the first appearance from Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy # 15 Even one of his latest attacks turns out to be quite profound for the kind of people he ended up murdering. At a geek costume party the drink was poisoned and under the bowl where the drink was was a piece of the cover of an X-Men comic where the phrase of people who are misfits and excluded by society is highlighted, referring to them geeks You can tell that they took Freedom for the end. Since after defeating the villain, he leaves the protagonists the fortune of a criminal millionaire that he had murdered before and also his mansion where he has a secret lair where they become something like Batman's team the film narratively does not be boring and works well enough to tell a police story with themes and references to the superhero genre of comics, since the clues of the case are and the murders are about that Although the plot is somewhat lazy, it is still an entertaining film that projects superheroes in the real world Kick-Ass demonstrates how dangerous it is to act like a masked vigilante on the streets in real life, The Boys gives a new meaning to "you must never meet your heroes" and Unknown Secret reveals that even the most absurd as a man in tights that says fight evil can become a hero the right way.

The least that could be done
27 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The Mortal Kombat franchise has been difficult to turn into a good movie They were tried about twice in the 90s with live action films that ended up losing video game fans, while the games themselves did not see the beginning of their brief decline coming after the success of Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate and Trilogy (which are the same game but after the 3rd it was necessary to bring the missing characters from the first 2 games) Video game movies, for the most part, are bad adaptations and movies themselves. You can see a movie that is entertaining, but to date the only movie that can be considered out of the box is Sonic The Hedgehog (although, with many adaptations, it does not have as much competition) And for an animated movie like Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, there are good and bad points as to what this movie is (as by itself as by adaptation)

The development of the characters (which we already knew very well from the games of the franchise) are developed in the right way, I would say based on the 2009 reboot with the ninth major installment of the game. Showing in a better and almost perfect way compared to how the characters were in the live action adaptations, with an inept Johnny Cage and being someone who does not fit the situation, with a Sonya Blade she would be and willing to fulfill her mission even alone, with a serene Liu Kang which Leonardo of the Ninja Turtles, a wise and correct Raiden like the one from the last 3 games of the current saga, a cold Sub-Zero and without more or more like the good and stubborn Bi Han that he is and, Of course, Scorpion or Hanzo Hasashi is seen as a tragic figure who becomes a spirit of revenge who seeks justice for his clan and family who were killed by the Lin Kuei (the race that Bi Han and Kuai Liang come from) You are vision, they are not the typical Mortal Kombat missions that want to cause a fight between both sides to see if the outside world or the doors are opened to be able to invade (just hearing that is obvious that it is something absurd for both one side and another ) The animation is good and the battle scenes are well done, as is the violence that is more or less emphasized in current games. What takes me out of the movie a bit is the fact that all the weight was put on Scorpion and that it ended with the supposed death of Quan Chi, a Mortal Kombat enemy who has been a headache for both Scorpion and Sub -Zero as for the rest of the main characters in almost the entire franchise and who manipulated both Sub-Zero ninjas so that one will lead the murder of the Scorpion clan and that another will directly assassinate his family I know it is difficult to have a good focus on the main plot with many characteristic characters of a saga that is being adapted, but still it is difficult to forget that Liu Kang (champion of the Earth) loses many degrees of importance as the plot progresses , even a wink is made to the relationship he had with Kitana, but it remains without any importance I know that there are differences in how to carry out the plot of a movie with that of a video game that you can simply pause, save what is history and continue at another time. But if they at least wanted to adapt the story of the first game, they could be the best when the plot of all the characters without everything falling on Scorpion's shoulders instead we have an occasion with a minimum of decency but what is quite forgettable and what left a lot to be desired if one expected a sequel

La desente visión de este icónico mercenario
25 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is not bad It is unspectacular enough for an in-depth story about Deathstroke, but there are a few moments when you get bored in the middle of the movie. The animation is very well done as the design of Deathstroke, to compare it with some other Deathstroke in live action, it is at the level of the Titans series and Batman: Arkham Origina (my favorite designs of the character in live action and in a videogame) The roles that Jericho and Rose Wilson take here are pretty decent, and the relationship between these two is well carried by the relationship they both have with their father. Adeline Wilson (Jericho's mother) is undoubtedly the worst character in the film, if she was also a military man and even after leaving Slade and Jericho's disappearance she should understand in a certain way what her husband was going through being someone who only knows war, and at least he had to ask him for an explanation of why and what he was doing, since both in the first act of the movie and when Slade left his wife and son he had already disintegrated much of HIVE, a corporation of evil, and helped with an antihero doing good even if he had to kill someone In short, Adeline is a woman who just wants to get away without knowing if it is good bad or if it is something fantastic as the definitive cure for cancer 7.6 / 10

Superman: Man of Tomorrow is a correct way to start
25 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A very good start for DCUMA after the Flashpoint of JL Dark: Apocalypse War If we already have this beginning with this origin of Superman that lets us see with Martian Manhunter and with Lobo (it is not a spoiler if you saw the trailer) that this will be a new shared universe of heroes The origin or first adventure of the man of steel here is quite well taken, almost like in Dragon Ball Super Broly, this movie has a good and updated animation and constant action that makes it entertaining. But with a good plot of Kal-El's gutter discovery about himself and what it will be like to be a super heroic alien pretending to be human in the eyes of the public who see aliens or otherworldly beings to fear (something that more or less had already been seen in the DC CW series Supergirl) It also represents very well what a young Superman is and novice at what it is to be a superhero when we know that in the future he will represent courage, hope, truth and justice in a world of self-destructive intelligent beings. With characters like Lex Luthor and Lois Lane it's pretty much business as usual in any Superman origin that includes them. A greedy millionaire who sees the world as foolish and insignificant who wants to destroy Superman to show that he is stronger and that humans don't need a super powerful and morally perfect guardian angel to deal with real human conflicts and a somewhat arrogant reporter with him poor Clark Kent and who is almost like Mrs. Florinda from the Superman stories before she knew who Superman is, someone who plays big and enviable but is just a reporter tell me who is saved daily by a big and strong man for sticking their noses where they don't care But, as the action is extremely constant to run the plot that falls entirely on the protagonist, both Lex and Lois go into the background
