Castle (2009)
Even Better the 2nd Time
I watched this series as it was airing, between the ages of 12-18. I always loved it back then, but now that it's on Hulu, I gave it a rewatch as an adult. It somehow hits even harder now than it did back then. The perfect mix of dark, relatable agony, humor, and romance. I've never seen a TV couple that made me feel for them so hard (both in the good and the bad) times as Castle and Beckett. The supporting cast are all amazing as well.
While the cases in the early episodes are some of the best, the show shines during seasons 5 and 6, when we finally get to see Castle and Beckett together solving cases. Things go a biiit downhill in season 7 and 8 due to some poor writing decisions, but honestly, on this rewatch, it's not as bad as I remember. You just can't overthink any of the episodes too much and take them as they come. The dive into conspiracy and international cases was definitely not the smartest. I think they should have stayed local and come up with more creative ways to make it more "intense" in the later seasons.
My one regret is that we never got the finale we deserved. One full of love and honor for all the characters and their stories.
Castle: Witness for the Prosecution (2016)
Really funny
To be fair, this is my favorite show of all time, but yes Season 8 is quite lackluster because of missing Beckett and Castle moments.
This episode was HILARIOUS. Actually had me laughing out loud all by my lonesome. Great way to tie in Caleb Brown in a mysterious way without making is suspicious. Great case.
