Robin Hood (2006)
Fabulous, Fun, Fantastic....
I was not looking for this show at all. I live in the states, so we get British programs by the BBC much later than those in the UK. It came out earlier this year I believe, sometime in March. However, I didn't see it until a little less than a month ago. I was bored and flipping through channels on our box and came across BBC America. I saw it was on and left it since there was nothing else on. I adored it from my first viewing. The amount of humor and action, even the bit of drama that is included, are perfect balances of each other. Jonas Armstrong, in my opinion, is a lovely Robin Hood. After him, I really can't imagine anyone else. Much, well no words can really describe. I haven't seen all the episodes yet since I recently began watching it, but I've already purchased the first season on DVD and can't wait for the second! I think I may go into withdrawal before the second season comes to the states, actually.
I don't think this is trying to be historically accurate, and in truth, it's very difficult to be. It's been 1000 years since Richard the Lionheart and Robin Hood, it's hard to distinguish the history from the legend, because that is what it is now: legend. Just like Troy went from history, to legend, to myth. I recommend it though, and my sister is now watching it with me as well as my dad. As a matter of fact, I'm off to go watch some more now. Cheers!
