Bhagshesh: The Remainder (2018)
Malabika Sen
Malabika Sen. Malabika Sen. Malabika Sen.
Couldn't take my eyes off her.
The whole film is all about her.
Ambarish Bhattacharya and Soumitra Chatterjee have done their jobs fine. Liked the chemistry between Priyanka Sarkar and the Malabika Sen. Didn't like Subhrajit Dutta in this film.
Wonderful music. Can't take the tunes out of my head.
Storytelling could have been much better. Some parts are less believable than others and look carelessly stitched together but I know this movie is indeed a labour of love. Anyone can tell that.
Looking forward to seeing more collaborations between Maahirii Bose and the Malabika Sen.
Himmat Aur Mehanat (1987)
Interesting premise
Different from usual Sri-Jeetu capers. Sri gets comparatively more screentime than before, and her character is different too. She has more personality despite being an ideal Indian girl. Jeetu is a character with grey shades that does not seem to be endorsed by the film as well, which is a good thing.
Bewitched: Serena Stops the Show (1970)
One of the best episodes
Season 6 was the last season that I liked and it even took away the drabness of season 5, which was marred by the absence of Aunt Clara and the ill health of Dick York. This is one of the brightest episodes in my opinion (they always are super exciting whenever Serena appears anyway) and it's a delight getting to watch Elizabeth dance as both Sam and Serena, and then her performance of "I'm gonna blow you a kiss in the wind" ! Mindblowing! Much better than the Boyce and Hart performance too! Perfect plot even without Endora! Started liking Dick York after watching this episode. Taking and implementing elements of pop culture and poking fun at them - sarcasm at its best! Liz Montgomery is the best! She steals the show from the guest performers Boyce and Hart! One of the funniest and most refreshing episodes in a long time!
Maleficent (2014)
Stunning
I wanted to watch it so bad that this ended up being the first movie in my life that I went to watch alone in the movie theater (no one was free to go with me and I did not bother and ultimately I ended up loving that I got to watch it alone - albeit with strangers LOL). OMG How I loved it! Contrary to professional reviews, I noticed that the general public seems to like it! I do not think it is that dark too. The movie gains pace after about 25 minutes (the movie is not that long anyway). Angelina is my new goddess! And Elle Fanning is here to stay! I loved Sam Riley as Diaval, and Sharlto Copley played the evil king to perfection, though I would have liked to know the story behind his being somewhat evil (because he could not bring himself to kill Maleficent) to being transformed to pure evil (getting so mad that he did not go to his wife in her deathbed and stopping at nothing to kill Maleficent). I really was intrigued by the way he was so obsessed by Maleficent. He did not ever love anyone but himself and yes, in my opinion, Maleficent. Therefore he had two obsessions - himself(to be in power) and Maleficent. He never cared about the queen (his prize along with the kingdom) and not even about the daughter! The 3 pixies (Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville) were silly fun, but their parts were really small. The CGI and production values could have been better for a movie with this budget though.
