Second Chance (1996)
I agree, when did these guys have the first chance?
Not particularly watchable , another one of those films I purchased for $1 out of curiosity thinking it looked like an amazingly good sci fi tale for the price it was being sold for-how wrong was I? Maybe I should have gotten Bonanza volume 5 or something .. The adventures of Superted even, but no, I got this terrible mistake of a movie, OK, so the kids were pretty cute I must admit, but the storyline was not that great and the quality of the filming made it look like 1981, or maybe I'm mistaken in that it was set in that era anyways. But if you want to, watch it, I dare you.. Mwahaha,no honestly its not that great but watch it for a laugh anyways, go on. Mel x
Amnesia (1997)
Amnesia .. yeah I kind of forgot about it already
This film has some seriously wasted talent, like the previous commenter said. The film would have been more decent had it had a better budget and storyline. It was a typical hallmark-style take on a murder mystery which wasn't a murder mystery, it was evident what would eventually happen .. predictable and the ending was rather callous, in that it was kind of demented. My favourite thing about the whole movie was the music at the beginning and end which i thought sounded extremely Australian outback-like, but also added some enigmatic atmosphere to the themes highlighted in the film itself, if that makes any sense.
I got this film for $1 at Wal Mart and being from England and hoping to study film studies at Uni, I thought what better opportunity to study film than to buy a load of cheap digiview DVDs. I wasn't expecting amazing story lines and directing/acting, but this one was admittedly better than "Second Chance", which doesn't really do much justice to the cast and director at all. So here's my 5/10 rating for being ordinary yet reasonable.

Forrest Gump (1994)
Run Forrest run!!!
Forrest Gump is one of those epic films, which .. like Donnie Darko is not most exciting action film with amazingly skillful stunts etc, but its got something special that nobody can take away from it, to stop its being special. Tom Hanks is such an adaptable actor, ranging from a relatively normal everyday role in "Splash" to his more intelligent and formal role in "The Da Vinci Code" movie release. In FG, he inevitably gives his best in the portrayal of Forrest, an individual whose IQ is no greater than 75 - just over the borderline of appearing mentally challenged. However, despite the fact that he has no real aspirations in life, he does know one important thing, he loves Jenny and he enjoys the simple things in life, mainly because he can understand and cherish them more readily, and they are easily accessible too. He is a wholly lovable character and the audience will remember this film for a long time after first watching it. Watch it now. Mel x
