Foundation: King and Commoner (2023)
What happened to this season?
I loved the first season. A great story, great characters, great acting. What happened with season 2 though? The plot has gone crazy, there's so many new and unlikeable characters. You hardly see the best actors/actresses anymore. It's just so so disappointing. I notice that others have said the same and it looks to get better through the season but I certainly want to skip these episodes.
If you can make it through the rubbish writing and dialogue you might enjoy the future episodes as well, but trust me, it'll be a slog to get through them. Let's hope that season 3 learns from this mistake because I know this season lost some viewers.
You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment (2024)
Is this an unbiased scientific review?
I've read the reviews and watched the series. There's a number of interesting scientific methods and techniques that should've made this series fantastic. The problem is that from the very beginning it came across as an anti-meat series. You can't expect people to watch this when an open mind when the series is clearly leaning a certain direction. The fact that they have a vegan fitness coach/dietician without an omnivore coach/dietician to counterbalance the food and workouts tells you everything you need to know.
The sad part is that the viewpoint was so tainted that you can't believe anything that's presented as facts because it all feels like it's skewed. It's a shame because the idea is a great one.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Hard to Explain What It's Missing
There's a lot to like to the new Mission Impossible. The action scenes, the acting, most of the storyline, and yet something seemed to be missing. I can't put my finger on it, but we got done with the movie and thought it was far too long and unfulfilling at the same time.
There's one key element, that I won't add as a spoiler, but it was a real disappointment in the storyline of MI. It just put a sour taste in our mouth and could be why we were left underwhelmed.
I also think they leaned into some of the old cinematic styles and old MI cliches, such as bad guys, Tom Cruise and how much he needs to run in these movies, and old storylines. Overall, not a favorite. Good enough to watch but not one on the re-watch list.
Andor (2022)
Is Disney paying people to write good reviews?
I don't understand why there's a lot of 9 and 10 star reviews. It honestly so boring. Through episode 3 and it's basically people running around with very little purpose. I tried to watch with my kids and they were done after 10 min. I'm only watching to see if it gets better. It's a painful, slow journey.
Also, the whole premise of inspector looking to go above all his leaders just to find the guy who did, just doesn't make sense. I can't tell what the whole point of the show is or why it could be interesting. There's none of the magic of Rogue One. And the acting is questionable to say the least. I sure hope it all gets better. That's if I come back and watch the rest. It's a big if!
Yellowstone: Grass on the Streets and Weeds on the Rooftops (2022)
Worst season by far!
I love this show and honestly the whole season 4 was a disappointment. Compared to the last seasons this is easily the worst finale. It doesn't have cliff hangers like the last one and it sums up how the whole season has been... a big let down. Half of the episodes were just filler content with no connection to the larger narrative.
I hope they turn things around for next season.
Red Notice (2021)
Way over the top
It's an okay movie at best. But the plot is too convoluted, the action is just chaotic and overall there's much better films to watch if your looking for a caper flick.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Gets worse as it goes on
It gets so far fetched. For example, Angelina is taking the boy to town and she gets struck by lightning, which makes her take the boy back to where the bad guys know right where to find them. It's so bad.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Horrible
What an unlikeable and unbelievable movie. Don't waste your time. I think there's a bunch of reviews being suppressed because every one I see says it's horrible and yet it has a 6.5 rating. No way.
A Little Late with Lilly Singh (2019)
Laugh Tracks Are Strong with this Show
This is just really not good. I don't understand what this show is? Is it supposed to be comedy or a talk show or an infomercial? It's just really bad.
Da 5 Bloods (2020)
Whaaaa
Okay, how does this have a 6.5 average. Literally one, if not the, worst film I've seen in 2020. Do your mind a favor and skip this one. So bad.
World's Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji (2020)
Could've been great...but it was a slog
The race is incredible and located in the beautiful Fiji. But I just don't understand why it's so focused on mediocre teams and barely gives a glance at the top 10 teams. If you're looking for a show that you can have on the tv while not watching it, then this is a perfect fit!
Outer Banks (2020)
Acting is decent, but the plot and storyline are horrible!
You'll find yourself frustrated at the patchwork story more than once.
The Driver (2019)
Don't watch this. You're welcome.
This movie is one of the worst I've seen. It's like a group of college students had to put it together for a school project. The only decent thing about it is the main actor but he has nothing to go off of. Save yourself the time and money. Don't watch.
Last Knights (2015)
Uninspiring
This film has the unique ability to make an already too long of 2+ hour running time feel like 5 hours. Storyline is terrible, acting is so-so and overall a sludge of a movie.
