Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)
Yes, similar to Baseketball- and every OTHER sports comedy, but still HILARIOUS
I went into the movie hoping to be cheered up cause I was sort of out of it, and was almost afraid I wouldn't be able to enjoy the movie. This movie turned all that around- it was FANTASTIC. Nearly a rip-off of Baseketball? Well, yeah, but then again, name one sports comedy that ISN'T like that. It was absolutely hilarious. Granted, Ben Stiller acts the same way in this flick that he does in Zoolander, but Vince Vaughn was phenomenal, as was Christine Taylor, and Rip Torn, and just everything fit together perfectly. Hank Azaria FINALLY has a role in an actual HIT movie, which is even better. And seeing several celebrities who everyone thought "fell off the face of the Earth" make appearances in the movie, and it's so enjoyable and refreshing to see them again, including Chuck Norris, and David Hasselhoff! Go pay the cash for a ticket to see this- you WON'T be disappointed. Yeah, if you liked Baseketball- as well as every OTHER comedy sports movie known to man...you'll LOVE Dodgeball!
Andy Richter Controls the Universe (2002)
Quite Possibly one of THE funniest shows I've ever seen
Back in '02, my old man and I decided to watch the show, see how it was- we absolutely LOVED it. So far, I have yet to be let down by a single episode. The characters are great, the writing is phenomenal- it's rich, fresh, and incredibly witty. Seriously, what more COULD I ask? I say, Fox, dump that god-awful Arrested Development, and PUT ANDY RICHTER BACK ON! If the series ever goes to DVD, I guarantee I will be one of the first to purchase it. Most current shows, in the past 5 years, have not really impressed me in the least bit- but THIS SHOW HAS IT ALL! Again, I really hope Fox will consider bringing it back for several more seasons. It's not often these days for a prime time sitcom to be much of a hit unless it is an animated show, but this is probably one of those few remaining live gems out there.
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992)
One of the two greatest Hellraiser flicks ever made!
This is the Hellraiser movie that made ME a fan! Great plot, cool new Cenobites, LOADS of blood and gore,...ok, most of the acting- cept for Doug Bradley( Pinhead), and one or two other characters- completely blows. But there's one thing that separates this film from all the others, pretty much making it tie in the top spot with Hellraiser II: the Lament Configuration takes a few new forms in this flick- new forms, might I add, that it takes in THIS flick, and ONLY in this flick! This one's a keeper- and DEFINITELY worth checkin' out!
Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night (1987)
Filmation went out with a BANG on this one!
This film will go down as one of my all-time favorites. Filmation wasn't known for phenomenal animation, but after watching the Masters of the Universe series again, I wasn't expecting too much from them on THIS one- I was COMPLETELY blown away! The animation is PHENOMENAL, coming from Filmation. The Emperor looks awesome, and the music scores are EXCELLENT. In my opinion, this film never received the marketing blitz it truly deserved. Personally, I like THIS film better than DISNEY'S Pinocchio, and this film is actually not a continuation of the DISNEY film, but of the Adventures of Pinocchio animated series. Every time I see this film, I love it even more. A real winner in my book! :)
